Description of Work: Date of service 10/30/2015. Cost $3 200. New chimney.

Description of Work: We paid for a chimney inspection, cleaning and credit towards repair. They did the cleaning and gave us an outrageous estimate to fix masonry work on inside. They said they would return to inspect outside since they arrived 3 hours late but never returned. We did have not used the credit either.

Description of Work: They came out and gave us a quote on our chimney. We are still getting a few other quotes, but thus far they have been very responsive and friendly. They were also very thorough in their inspection as well.

Description of Work: The provider arrived to clean my chimney to prepare for this winter's firewood season. He did a good job cleaning the chimney and was professional completing the job. When completed, he informed me that the insulation around a new stainless steel chimney pipe was never properly installed. He warned me that a potential chimney fire may result from not adding the insulation. The cost would be $500. to repair the chimney and add the insulation. I contacted the original contractor who installed the pipe and informed him of this concern about the lack of insulation. I asked him to please check out the situation. The owner of Town and Country chimney service came to my house and proceeded to educate me about insulation of the pipe, and he made it clear by pointing out where the insulation was, and that it was installed properly. Furthermore, it was quite clear that the pipe was sealed and no fire hazard was evident. I would never use Capital Chimney again and would strongly advise anyone using the service to beware of serious bait and switch practices this company seems to sell to their customers. Scam tactics is not sound business ethics. BUYER BEWARE!

Description of Work: We used an Angie special, so paid in advance for inspection & cleaning. The provider gave an estimate for the extensive rebuilding that would be required to actually fix our chimney, and some conversation about the shoddy original construction that led to a lot of the deterioration. We probably will not use them (or any other chimney service) again because we don't have the money.
