Great- on time, good job and great price.

I bought a deal on Angie's List for a chimney sweep and credit towards masonry repair. The deal leads you to believe that you will be contacted by the provider. After nearly a month, I never received a contact. I emailed Angie's List to let them know and they said they would tell them to contact me, but I didn't hear from them. (I would have contacted them myself, but I ended up having my baby a week later (6 weeks early), so I was a bit preoccupied. I scheduled the service with ease by calling their number. I did have to wait a couple of weeks before an appointment was available. However, I needed to change the date a week later because of pediatrician appointment. I left a message and did not hear back from anyone. I called again a day later and finally was able to reschedule. When they arrived they got straight to work. They told me my chimney cap was missing and the cost to replace it. They also said my chimney would need to be rebuilt and gave me an estimate. I asked about the credit in my Angie's List deal and they said they didn't know about the coupons, but took my word for it and put it in the estimate. I ended up getting the chimney swept (the deal), purchasing the additional cap and holding off on rebuilding the chimney. The gentlemen that came to do the service were nice and professional. I liked the experience except their responsiveness. I will likely use them again unless I find a better deal elsewhere.

Crew was punctual, did their work but have not used the chimney yet to know if everything is functioning properly. Some small nits to pick; crew lacked cleanliness and the general process of selecting a chimney repair company felt a bit overwhelming and likened it to buying a car. However, we selected Capitol Chimney mostly due to Roger's (owner) personal input and assurances that the work would be guaranteed. Have recommend him to 2 other friends/family.

FIne, it wasn't as much work as last year and they were in and out in no time and I have a clean chimney inside.

Process was very good. They came out to just clean my chimney but went up on the roof and took pictures. The pictures showed much damage and I did not have a cap. They provided me with a very reasonable estimate to repair the chimney top, put in a new damper and also a chimney cap. They were efficient, professional and came to work on time. They also cleaned up really well afterwards.

Appeared to do a very good job of cleaning the chimney. We were not so happy about a recommendation to purchase additional services relating to a flex crown. The technician recommended we replace the chimney "flex crown" at a cost of $395.00. We declined and sought a second opinion from Augustine Roofing (who replaced our roof a year ago). Augustine looked at the chimney and told us their opinion was that the repair was unnecessary. .

They were very prompt and courteous. They took pictures of all intended work for the repair, as well as the finished project. The price was very reasonable and the cleanup was done very well.

It went fine. They recommended replacing the chimney crown but could not do that part because they didn't have cement.

I have used this company before. They installed an insert into my fire place a few years ago. Service was scheduled for 9/5/13 between the hours of 9-12. Called company around 9:30am Thursday to make sure I had the date and time correct, I did. Company called me around 12:30 to say tech was running late but was on his way. He arrived at 1pm. He completed the work, check bricks around the top of chimney and the liner they installed and said everything was fine. We are burning the wood correctly however we should have the chimney cleaned annually instead of every 2 years. I was happy with the job.

The company scheduled us promptly and did an excellent job performing the job. My dryer time has been cut in half now because the vent is clean. I would definitely call them again, especially for the price.

He has come on time and try to finish the job very quickly and leave. After my questioning, he took more time and cleaned it better. He definitely took additional time to clean it better and completed his job. I am satisfied with his job overall.

They did a great job inspecting, cleaning and performing repairs to the chimney. They arrived promptly and I was impressed with their professionalism. The performed their work very neatly and made sure the entire area remained clean. I appreciated the fact that when they left, there was no evidence they had been there except for the completed repairs.

They were great. My tenants were very pleased with the contractor. They would recommend them to anyone who needed this service.

They arrived on time, and cleaned out my chimney quickly. They did not make a mess, and were very professional.

I was given a 9 a.m. - noon window. By 11:45, no one had arrived or bothered to call me to say there would be a delay. So I called them to get a status and was told the technician was "around the corner". By 12:30, he still hadn't made his way "around the corner". I had to leave keys for him to get in, since I had to get to work (after taking the entire morning off for absolutely no reason). I honestly couldn't tell whether or not any service was performed, but I'll assume it was. There was still lint on the outside of the dryer duct, and I still had to clean a lot of lint out of the grate after he came. I would've expected a good service call to have taken care of that, and it left me wondering if any work had actually been performed. The only visible evidence of anyone having been there was a receipt left on the kitchen counter. Basically, a bad experience. It happens, I know. But it was enough for me to write these guys off for any future business.

It went great! I had 4 estimates. Javier from Capitol was as knowledgeable and competent as any of the other companies (all 4 were knowledgeable and 3 of 4 identified the same issues). Work was performed well and efficiently...big job with 3 on the crew (led by Javier) was completed in 1 long day. The price was VERY reasonable...much lower than 2 of the other 3...and Capitol offered more. Roger (owner) was also pleasant and easy to work with. I really respected the entire crew and was more than satisfied. I highly recommend giving them a chance...I am grateful that I called them!.

The first time they came out, they cleaned the chimney and gave us an invoice for the repairs that needed done. Then they returned a second time and performed the repairs, everything went well. We were able to use our fireplace the very next day. They were very friendly and efficient.

Capitol Chimney refused to do the services THAT THEY WERE ALREADY PAID FOR because they claimed the chimney was unsafe. So the company now has my 90 dollars and refused to even do a minute of work for it. I would love to hear from other chimney services how a "unsafe chimney" would prevent them from even vacuuming out and cleaning the fireplace. Angie's List, this company should be investigated. Refusing to do any work unless I paid them to perform other repair services? Sounds like extortion to me. How is that legal?

They did not service my area so I am cancelling.

They were fine. They were very honest with me and let me know an inspection was not needed based on the chimney we had. They gave us extra advice on how to light the wood stove. They were right on time. There was no issue with them. They were clean.

Chimney was found to be rather clean, not too much sweeping required. Upon inspection, it was found that much of the caulking was deteriorating and a cap needed to be replaced. The provider came back later and performed the work.

I think I received $90 worth of service, but I am glad I did not pay more. After inspection, the chimney needed over $800 more work done which they could do before they left. I asked him to email the pictures he took with his phone to show my husband, but he didn't.

I was contacted hours after I left a message with the company. The chimney was inspected and I received an estimate the next day. Reconstruction began the following Monday and was completed on schedule in three days. Day 1 was used to set up the scaffolding and to tear out the damaged layers of brick. Day two was difficult because my bricks were hard to match. Following a trip to an Alexandria, VA brickyard, acceptance by my wife, and a second trip to the brickyard to pick up the bricks, the reconstruction work began. Most of the new brickwork was done on Day 3. Water repellent was applied a few days later. I asked for and received an invoice marked "paid" that included notice of the 10 year warranty on this work. I have only one gripe: Replacement of the five bricks on the shoulder (damaged over ~ 33 years from the time the house was built from freeze/thaw) was not to the same standard as the serious work done on the top of the chimney. I think they ran a few bricks short and as a result substituted a couple of bricks that were not from the same batch as the main chimney. When I contacted American Professional Chimney about that I mentioned that a) it was not a big deal, b) the bricks were hard to match, and c) structurally there was no issue. We left it that if they could find a few more bricks they would replace them when back in the area. That hasn't happened yet, but I didn't expect it to either. Everyone my wife or I spoke with was pleasant and professional. They showed up on time, cleaned up the mess, and did a great job. I got three bids for this job. One outfit didn't want the work (too complicated) and one wanted almost $2000 more to replace bricks that probably didn't need replacing. American Professional Chimney did a great job and gave me the same warranty as the expensive guys.
