The chimney cleaning was performed well and Ricky was very personable and helpful. He recommended we do some additional masonry work, but we did not elect to do this service at the current time. The only issue we had was setting up the appointment time itself. We had already purchased the Angie's List coupon and then the provider mentioned that they didn't really serve our area, but "could make it work." I had to follow up with a few calls to ensure that we were on for the scheduled time. I'd recommend clarifying that on thier website or they'll have to deal with these requests again - we live in Fairfax County and that is specifically listed as a service area.

Setting up the appointment was easy and they recognized the coupon. There was a little confusion with which coupon we had (which made the receptionist a little short but that was our fault.) The workmen arrived on time and did a great job.

After purchasing the deal, the company called me and told me they were not servicing my area. I ended up having to pay 250$ at closing since I was unable to get my chimney sweep completed. I had the deal refunded.

It was okay. They were timely. They were clean. But, there was a pretty significant miscommunication about the repairs, which ended up they did without approval and it cost a lot more than it was supposed to.

They did a very professional job. Will use again if needed.

Two technicians came out, looked at our two fireplaces and handed us an estimate. We have no specific complaints about the individuals who performed the estimate. They seemed competent and verbally explained everything they saw. The issue is that they provided a handwritten, barely-legible estimate after performing a 20minute "Level I" inspection (only looking at the fireplaces and outside of the chimney, priced on their website at $75/fireplace). We had very different expectations of the $250 inspection service we ordered. At a minimum, we expected a written report on letterhead (preferably with photos) documenting the litany of work they decided we needed. As the inspection was specifically for the purchase of property and subsequent negotiations with the seller about what work needed to be done prior to settlement, a yellow receipt (and bill) with a few hand written items was not appropriate. If we wanted an estimate, we could have called and asked for one for free. Afterwards we tried to follow up with the main company and never got anything else of use out of them. They were extremely rude and unprofessional to our real estate agent when he tried to handle it on our behalf. We paid the bill because we did not want a mechanic's lien in the middle of trying to purchase a home.

Cleaning was very quick and thorough. In addition to cleaning service provider recommended some structural repairs/improvements to the chimney which would have cost over $1000. Issue cited was that the smokebox would leak carbon monoxide into the living quarters without sealing the inner smoke chamber with a special kind of concrete. We purchased a carbon monoxide detector for $25 and have not had any issues. Otherwise a great deal and would use them again if we weren't moving out shortly.

I had a problem with condensation in my furnace vent. The setup is pretty complicated and Roger was very thorough and knowledgeable. He also waived his $75 fee for estimates, which was nice. The estimate I received was a bit lower than another I received. More important was Roger's willingness to suggest a solution that didn't involve his services at all. That ended up being the right solution, so he didn't end up getting my business--at least not for now. When I do need chimney repair, he'll be my first call. If I had one complaint, it's that he can tend to brush off questions. He knows his stuff, but a lot of times the answer to questions sounded like "trust me, I'm an experienced professional." He's definitely a pro, and I do have a lot of respect for someone who's willing to give you the best answer rather than the one that earns him more business.

I bought the $110 coupon from this provider on Feb 8, 2014. I am writing this on Feb 18, and in these 10 days no one had contacted me to schedule an appointment, in spite of a few emails back and forth with the provider, and multiple promised that some one will contact me "as soon as possible". My first refund request from an Angie's List purchase, and I would definitely not recommend this provider to anyone.

It went really well. We had just moved into an old house and knew that the chimney had to be cleaned due to the fact that a raccoon was living in the chimney prior to us moving in. Unfortunately they had to break the existing damper to properly clean the flue, I had to pay for a new flue to be installed and they informed me that the crown was cracked and leaking. Otherwise they did an excellent job and provided me with all the options.

The job was fine. The chimney wasn't dirty and they didn't spent a lot of time cleaning it. They gave some recommendations which were good. It was fine but it wasn't like wow. They even opened the flue stock so that was a good thing. I just wished they took longer to clean stuff but I guess it wasn't dirty.

They found some cracked bricks and they put a rain cap on the top of the chimney. They failed to come with the proper tools & equipment as well.

It worked out good. They were very professional. They came on time. They suggested that I might want to look into doing some other chimney repairs in the future but they didn't press me on it which was good because I was not interested. I don't use my chimney very often and I would certainly call them again the next time I do need services.

We didn’t need any repairs and we didn’t do the inspection because we were selling the house. Everything turned out fine. It worked out well because $110 was a good deal for a chimney cleaning alone. I was happy with what we got.

The service was okay. They told me that to get it relined, but I wasn't ready to do it at that time. It does need to be relined, so they weren't just trying to up sell. I will call them back to reline it. I had a wonderful experience.

My experience was great. They came in and did the research and reviewed the chimney. They were on time for the appointment and attentive. The cleaned up after wards well and I didn’t even know they were there. They gave me great to tips to use for the future for my chimney.

It worked out okay. They were very nice, very polite and respectful of my home. When they came they took their shoes off and I felt I was dealing with very professional bunch of people. It was refreshing knowing that they didn't try to do work that didn't need to be done, at the same time I hope it's really clean. I didn't have anything negative to say about them.

Never called me...Felt they didn't want to do the work. Had to go with a different vendor.

This company was amazing! I wish I could remember the wonderfully helpful technician that spent over 9 hours trying to complete this job. His customer service was above and beyond exceptional. The job turned out to be much more than he originally thought when he came to give the estimate. After all the additional work that had to be completed, having to drive from Alexandria deep into Fairfax County Home Depot to rent a device needed to complete the job and having to complete the job in time to return the device back to Fairfax County Home Depot, he still replaced the pipe in the basement that allowed the gas out (which was not part of the estimate) and patch the wall were the pipe was situated. He did every bit of the work with pride and a wonderful disposition throughout the day through to the night. I would positively recommend this company to any and every one. This day and age it is hard to find a company that will come on time, give a fair price or complete the job required the way they initially said they would during the estimate. This company arrived on time, completed everything quoted during the estimate and then some, was polite, cleaned up after the work was done, gave a great price and did not charge more because the work turned out to be more involved. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

They were very clean about making sure not to track in mud and also left without a mess as well. They were on time, efficient, and did a thorough job.

So now I'm in the position of not being able to recoup my $110 unless I agree to a much more expensive service. It would have been nice had they offered to partially clean the flue, or at least clean it as best they could given its condition, but then again, I'm no chimney expert.

Very professional. Very quick so quick I thought the price as fair but not a "Big Deal".

The cleaning was fast and efficient and they left no trace of a mess. Did not do the repairs at this time- will hold off.

It went well. They did a nice job. The staff was very professional and they cleaned the area very well when they were done. They came in, they did their job and they left. Nothing stood out. They were able to come out within a couple of weeks. The price was very good.

It generally went fine and I would use them again but after the damper was replaced, we had to pick up and remove some old metallic equipment in the back yard and the chimney cap is now off kilter at the top of the chimney. Hopefully, if I call them this Spring for a new cleaning, they will take care of it for me. Again, they cleaned a few other chimneys for me and I would use them again without hesitation - with the Angie's List deal.
