I have received my refund. The provider was very courteous in their email correspondence when I explained my mistake.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was fine. We had them do some additional work but they performed as advertised. They took pictures when they were up there and showed us where the problems were. They were courteous and made sure to keep everything clean. They explained things and they were timely. The price was reasonable.

Capitol Chimney paid us three visits at our home. In the first visit, we were informed that they couldn't replace the panel that day because they didn't have the tools to remove it. The second time, they informed us that they wouldn't be able to replace the panel because they couldn't get the old one out and we'd have to replace the entire firebox. A couple days later, I received a call from the owner, Roger, who informed me that the technicians who had come out made a mistake and that the panel could be replaced, and that he would come out and do it himself. Sure enough, he did just that. He had to cut the panel to size before installing it, which took some extra work but he did it quickly and skillfully. When I was handed the bill, I was taken aback a bit by the price; it turns out the Angie's List deal didn't apply to the work we'd had done. As that little detail wasn't clear in the fine print, Roger agreed to take $100 off the final price, which was a really decent thing to do. Though there were some bumps along the way, Capitol Chimney got the work done, did it well, and my wife and I were able to enjoy some nice, warm fires this past winter.

They were great. They did everything they were suppose to, they cleaned up after themselves and they were on time.

The only negative was the clean up after the job, however there was snow on the ground

It went well overall and I would use them to do repairs. I was admittedly not totally focused on the job while the technician was here, but he left without saying goodbye and just left the receipt/quote on the chair in my living room. That would be my only (very minor) complaint. He did an excellent job in explaining what was wrong with the chimney (there are gaps in the metal flashing interior), and when I asked him if he would use the chimney in this condition in his own home, I think he gave me his honest opinion.

They were efficient and clean.

This was my first time having a chimney cleaned. I felt like they basically did the same thing I already do. However, they did have a fuzzy tool to clean out the inside of the chimney. They cleaned up nicely. I am very disappointed in that I asked them from the very beginning to replace my chimney cap that blew off in the wind. They sold me in buying another one from them which they would have to install at a later date b/c they didn't have one with them. They said they would call me that same day to schedule the follow up call. When they left, I had a funny feeling that I was supposed to tip them. Ironically, it was the owner of the company that made me feel this way. I did not get a call back from them about the follow up call. I don't feel like calling them to chase them down to help me replace the cap. Now I'm at square one again trying to accomplish the very task I set out to do- replace the chimney cap.

I was happy with the service. The cleaning was quick and efficient and I was more than happy with the results. It was definitely worth more than the discounted coupon. They also quoted me for doing minor repairs which seemed reasonable for the work. I wanted to get other estimates so I haven't gone back but I feel they do reasonable business with respectable prices. P.S. They clean up after the sweeping. They left no dirt or ash behind.

Came in like a world-wind - never took pictures of chimney that needed repair. Later called and said sorry they hurried, willing to offer discount on price for repair. Disappointed in the quality and attend to detail and inter facing with the homeowner.

Cleaning and inspection went well. I was provided with photos of defects in the integrity of the bricks and mortar, and I elected to have them perform the necessary work to fix the problems. Very satisfied with the outcome.

I bought an Angie's List "Big Deal" to have my chimney cleaned and inspected for $110.00. When I purchased it, I was told by Angie's LIst that I would hear from Capitol Chimney Service within 48 hours to schedule the inspection. After a week, I hadn't heard from them. Only after contacting Angie's LIst did I finally receive a call. The day they were scheduled, I arranged to leave a key for them, but they didn't use it and just left a card in my door. Again, they didn't call to reschedule. I called them. When they finally came and performed the service, they did not leave any information about the condition of the chimney. I have left them a voice mail at their office asking that they call to tell me what they found and after five days, have still not received a call back. They cleaned the fireplace, but otherwise, I have no idea what they actually did. Very dissatisfied.

They found some problems and gave us an estimate for the work but we did not go forward with it. I thought they did a good job.

I called them and they were able to call me back and let me know they do not service my area.

He also let me know there needed to be an exterior vent cap put onto the chimney. They did the work very quickly and didn't really explain what they were doing, mainly just let me know that I needed chimney caps. I felt they could have been more thorough. Scheduling was fine.

They did what they were supposed to do, they showed up when they said they would show up, they were prompt, on time, they cleaned up their mess, did the repairs, and it worked out fine. When he showed me the picture, I didn't think it was pretty, but you couldn't see it, unless you were a bird. He had taken before and after pictures. They answered my calls, and they were accessible.

I've used another company before but they never came but these guys from Capitol Chimney Services came out and I was sensitive about that. They arrived on time and were professional. They recommended additional work but I didn't think it was necessary.

They did a great job. They came in and did an evaluation and they came back in and did the work. I think they were great. They did a nice job. I wouldn't say that I thought they were expensive or I don't think they were cheap. It was a lot of work so it cost us a lot of money. They were clean and efficient. They arrived when they said they were gonna arrive.

My wife said the service was fine. Our home was cleaned after the work as the work was a mess but they cleaned everything. We did find one smudge of smoke but that was not that big of a deal. They were very professional and friendly when doing the service.
