They arrived a bit late but I was home for the day so things worked out. They finished the job very quickly. They did a great job keeping the soot from getting on anything. They left the room as clean as they found it.

The job went very well. The workers were very professional, and the price was in line with other estimates that I received. I ultimately decided to go with Capitol Chimney because they guaranteed their work for 5-10 years (depending on the precise job), while other companies provided either shorter guarantees or no warranties at all. I would use them again.

All went well - they were punctual, friendly, and professional. The work was done well and I was happy with the service I received.

Pretty expensive to install the flue. They cleaned the chimney but did not clean out the hole where the ash goes. They wanted more money for that.

Cleaning went well. They did recommend a couple of repairs that I didn't think were very necessary which did make me think that that the deal was a lost leader, a way to generate more expensive business. But they weren't pushy at all in their recommendations so it was fine.

They called ahead of time, they came when they said they would. They were professional and pointed out some things that needed to be replaced and provided estimates. They did a great job cleaning the chimney as well.

Took pictures of top of roof, very efficient use of time. One went on roof while other was cleaning chimney. Recommended further work and left very detailed estimate.

It went ok but it was not fabulous. The job got resolved and it was a real good experience. The communication was not so great. They did go on the roof to make sure the chimney was ok. They also answered our questions and responded to us adequately. The did provided an estimate for us to change our gas pipes.

I purchased a Big Deal ($110 for chimney inspection and cleaning PLUS $100 credit for masonry repairs) through Angie's List on 2 Nov 2014, suggesting 3 service dates during the following 2 weeks. After hearing nothing from the company other than a confirmation of my order through the Angie's List message system, I called the company directly and left a voice message. Having heard nothing from the company, on 16 Nov I requested assistance from the BigDeal HelpDesk. Within a day I received a voice message from the company. I returned the call, but never heard from the company again. Angie's List promptly refunded my payment. A poor experience.

Purchased a $110 chimney cleaning special on Angie's List - it was very easy to schedule the appointment with customer services. When I was waiting for the crew to show up, they called and said they could come even before the scheduled window - the service was done quickly, the area was left clean and they even showed me some pictured they took of the chimney that was not visible from the ground. Made some repair recommendations, but no high pressure sales pitches.

They were on time, courteous, professional, and very clean. They vacuumed inside and outside the fireplace and scrubbed down the liner. Will use again.

Roger was prompt, courteous and thorough. He also left a clean path in front of & behind himself, which I don't always see with contractors coming in to perform home services! He also told me about the condition about the parts of the fireplace & chimney & what we should be getting replaced in the near future.

Everything went just fine, I had purchased a coupon for $110 for chimney cleaning and $100 off on chimney masonry repairs. The appointment time was between 9am - 1pm, and I received a call around 11am informing me that they would arrive in about 20 minutes. The 2 men were professional and cordial and went right to work. One focused on vacuuming the fireplace and chimney, while the other went up on the chimney to inspect it. As I knew, the chimney required masonry work, but due to the temperature I was given the price quote for the work and told to make an appointment with the office. The work was completed in about 45 minutes and I was able to have a fire that evening.

Ricky and his associate were fantastic. He is honest, hard working and they left my home spotless. After consulting 3 other companies we decided on Capitol and have been nothing short of pleased from the beginning.

This company is terrible. The owner, Roger, came to our house to inspect our fireplace; we wanted to convert from gas to wood burning. He said it would cost around $6k for for building a firebox, adding a heart, a surround and a mantel. During the visit he was friendly and indicated he would send us an email with pictures from previous jobs and a quote, he said he would do it by Sunday night (this was on a Saturday) or at the latest by Monday, he asked for our credit card number for payment ($250.00) for the inspection. We didn't hear from him on Sunday or Monday, I sent him a txt message on September22, requesting the quote. He replied on September 23, he wanted to talk over the phone. I really wanted something in writing, so sent another txt requesting a written report of the work he had completed (for which we paid him $250), we never heard back from him. A couple of weeks later my wife called him and left him a voice message, again asking for a written report and a quote, he never called back. A few days later I called his office and the receptionist (or office worker) indicated that she would follow-up with him and that we should get a report via email, we are still waiting... We feel like this was a total rip-off, he charged us $250 and wouldn't want to provide a written report or provide with a quote in writing. We would never use this company again and are planning to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Not may details. The crew determined that my chimney was not blocked, cleaned it, and were on their way. They were here less than an hour.

The original cleaning date had to be changed due to rain, which was understandable. They did a good job cleaning and did a visual inspection of the exterior. I find that chimney companies always find something in need of repair. They identified one as well but were not able to do anything about it on the spot.

The company was supposed to get back to me within 48 hours of the purchase and they did not, despite me emailing them. I called yesterday and they said they wouldn't be able to do the work until the week of November 24th, and I need it done before then.

the company was friendly, professional, reasonable in price, prompt and did all the work eficiently and in a very quality way. who would have thought that a chimney was something you even had to think about! but the outside is now esthetically pleasing, we got another several years use out our roof, the water leaks are gone, the closing door at chimney top is easy to use and replaced the antique the 1949 built house came with that really didn't shut out insects or outside weather. we're very happy with the work.

I got stuck at work and my 19-year-old son let them in. Unfortunately, the wrong chimney was cleaned. They honored the Angie's list price and came back a few days later to clean the correct chimney. They were responsive, quick, and courteous. I would recommend them.

They refused to do the work because they did not feel that the chimney was safe to clean.

Did a good job. Wanted to make sure chimney was clean and good to use. Team was professional and appears to have done a good job. Also gave us pictures of the chimney caps so we can see how it looks with out getting on the roof.

It went well. The provider, thought that they were going to be late. However, they were on time and I can tell that they really worked hard to get here. They were quick, took picture and made a detail list of what could be fixed on the chimney. Made adjustments to the price and made a minor repair to the chimney for not charge. Great experience
