C&Painting LLC were totally professional, totally prepared, incredibly efficient and did an exemplary job. The painting looks great and I couldn't be happier. There was so little fuss and the job was so neatly done that I would hire them again in a heart beat.

Great experience!! Jose came over and gave us an estimate. We set a date for the work to be completed. He brought a team of workers, they worked for 12 hours straight and it was all completed in that one day. His employees did a great job of painting! We noticed one small problem a couple of days later, but upon contacting Jose, he promptly offered to resolve the problem and he did! I am very pleased with the professionalism and quality of work we received. We will definitely hire them to come back if and when we need work completed! (I did include some before and after photos to give you an idea of their work. They replaced the rotted wood around our patio door as well.) I actually selected this company because of the ratings and reviews on Angies List. I love being able to has a sense of confidence in who I am hiring prior to hiring them. Angies List gives me that opportunity. Thanks again for a job well done!!

The painters did an excellent job. The house looks really good. Since I'd used the special, the total cost of painting was lower than usual. Total cost came to $5,500, including paint and materials. This is about $2,000 less than the usual cost to paint the house because of the offered special.

Another great job by Jose and C&Painting LLC. Our project included a full basement remodel (think 1960s/70s to new build transformation): -Significant drywall work (including framing around ducts, removal of old ceiling, integrating with new electric, tight detailed work around new framing under steps, etc.). -Painting (corner to corner, the entire basement including trim, doors, insides of closets, etc.) -Over-sized crown molding and baseboard Jose went above and beyond on this project. Highlights include: suspending work for me to lay the flooring (which contractors never do), repainting the basement at no cost when my wife disliked the color, and coming to remove all of my trash from an outside area at no additional cost. My two pieces of advice when working with C&Painting are (1) be patient, as Jose and crew are perfectionists and do the job correctly the first time and (2) do not be afraid to communicate your vision, Jose is highly capable and brings good ideas to the table. I will also mention that Jose is extremely trustworthy. I gave him a key to my house (this is not the first project he has done for me) and it treated our arrangement with the utmost care (always calling before arriving, returning the key in person, etc.)

C&Painting did a fantastic job painting our house. Jose and crew do excellent work at a fair price. We recently hired C&Painting again for a big drywall job in our basement.

They did a great job. Jose and his team went out of the way to complete the job.

Excellent work, they showed up on time and the work was completed by noon. They did a great job.

Jose from C& Painting and his people showed promptly at 8AM. They worked very hard and finished after 8.5 hours. They even did extra work not covered by the contract, at no extra cost. I was very happy with the outcome and will use them again, for another house I own down the street. I can't post a picture now, as the paint is still drying, but may post one later.

I contacted Jose Cortez, who runs C&Painting LLC, and he responded promptly. He is professional and courteous. Jose came to my home and explained what the work would entail, who would perform the work and when. Once the job began, he kept contact with me to make sure the two men he assigned executed the job properly. And the two men were hard-working and meticulous. They showed up on time and worked continuously until the end of the day. Theirs was truly a professional job. The wood looks like new. The men were careful about splattering porches, sidewalks or shrubs with paint. Jose was there when he needed to be, overseeing the process. I am very satisfied with the job.

I called C & Painting immediately to see if they could put the basement back together, and they came within 2 days and work tirelessly replacing drywall, baseboard, and then painting the damaged areas of the basement. C Painting was extremely accommodating, given my Insurance Company did not approve the claim for all of the many damages to my home. The bill was reasonable at $2400, given the amount of work, materials, and need for exact precise measurement when filling in the walls with new drywalls and paint--making the room look totally brand new. Oh, I must also say that what I LOVE about this company, is that they clean up days and hours of mess extremely well. C Painting is ABSOLUTELY the BEST in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Never happened, Very unprofessional, lousy knowledge and over all skill. I can tell, I work with contractors all day long and know the laws, codes and importantly trade skills required with particular talents needed to do a job. The way this business carried them selves was more a quick turn around with minimal effort. C & Painting, LLC eager after talking about the project to start next day without additional pricing, hours and man hours taken/days of work to complete in writing. It took me contacting Angie's List after 2 weeks of unsuccessful attempts of communication via Phone/eMail. Only after I requested a refund from Angie's List later that day I received a call, even after I told Angie's List that I don't want to "Mediate" with the current contractor. I'll find someone else! Requested a project scope of work prior to starting with additional costs in person: said it would take a couple of days. Tried several times via Email/Phone to see where the Scope of Work was, never answered or replied. That's what really ticked me off! Very important: You need a Job Scope/Contract: Makes sure the contractor doe's everything you and them agree on, plus requesting that they put their liability for their crew members and possible any proper damages (yours/neighbors) on paper ensures if a crew member gets hurt or destroys your property or neighbors, that your not liable "THEY ARE!" Take it from me, 30K+ later and loss of insurance 17yrs ago not a pretty ending. SO, rule of thumb: Project scope/contract with Liability on the company "NOT YOU". Remember people, there is a Cost to Effort ratio: if you want a decent job it will cost more (which I was prepared to pay additional thousands) but after the discussion in person, no communication and lack of expertise "Yes I say that: because of the answers given to me." there was no-way I was going to allow this company on my premises to do "ANY" work. For example: You have a house circa 1880's with 100+ yr old trim coated with oil-based paint on the exterior: Would you, A) Scrape to bare wood then Paint?, B) Use chemicals to strip then Paint? C) Use a coat of Latex Exterior after lightly brushing large chunks of old paint off (if needed) , Or D) Light brush large chunks of old paint off (if needed) then coat with Oil-Based Exterior? Answer: D - Lightly scraping off large chunks of paint (IS THE CORRECT WAY TO GO) for prep; but be prepared for the possibility of a large mess. Re-coating Oil on Oil revives the under layers and revives them with the fresh coat. This ensures the coat lasts a minimum of 6yrs+. Cleanup is a pain, so is prep but worth the finish more costly tho. Not - A) If you were to scrape to bare wood, you run the risk of damaging gingerbread, trim or fancy woodwork from many years of paint build up which helps protect the wood from the elements. However, it's more effective if you decide to take the risk to scrape to wood when you prime afterwards then 2 - 3 coat, lasts at-least 6yrs with a good quality primer/paint: but the trade off is any new work on top of old is risky and not done properly can lead to potential damage later down the road, so attention to details is CRITICAL!! Not - B) Using chemicals to strip is a dumb idea in this particular application we were looking for. You run the risk of exposing harsh chemicals to your yard and flower beds. Not to mention, PET's (which I have). I can understand for Interior use, but for exterior with years of paint layered it could possibly cause a mess on a metal siding which intern would be a very difficult clean up (especially if the siding is a baked on finish that has oxidized through the years) this may cause the baked on finish to run and discolor because of the stripping compound. "I've seen this happen before" Not - C) Lightly scraping off large chunks of paint (IS THE CORRECT WAY TO GO) for prep; but be prepared for the possibility of a large mess. However, using Latex paint is a DUMB IDEA! even-though it will hold overtime, it will eventually peel and curl off like peeling tree bark. It compromises the under layers of paint underneath causing you to later on scrape to bare wood to get that clean edge finish. If it was Oil based, then use Oil not latex; Q. Can I paint over oil base exterior paint with a latex paint? A. Yes, you should be able to use a top quality exterior latex paint over oil based paint, if the surface is well prepared. (However, if the old paint consists of a buildup of say 5 or more coats of old oil paint, the safest approach is to continue with oil, because the latex paint can lift the old oil paint if not adhering well.) In all fairness, every situation is different depending on the job, in my case; I knew what needed to be done; but remaining quiet and letting the contractor talk is the best thing to do to see if he/she "KNOWS" what they are really doing when you already know whats needed yourself.

C &Painting LLC provided a 4 person crew to come my house to paint on August 25, 2016, to perform 40 hours of work in one day. Mr. Jose Cortez the owner of the company was one of the crew members to paint. It was a good thing he did because the other three crew members did not speak or understand much English. When I gave an instruction to any of the crew members, they would call out to Mr. Cortez to ask me what I said. Mr. Cortez would come to me and ask what I wanted them to do and he would explain in Spanish to them. One of the communications was totally misunderstood, because we specifically asked them to paint around the nails in the walls so we can hang pictures and masks in the same place. The crew members still pulled out all the nails while painting so that we had to measure and/or guess where the pictures should be hung again and get new nails and picture hooks. They failed to bring the agreed upon paint and I had to go out to buy the paint for the accent wall and yellow frog tape for them. Mr. Cortez grossly over estimated the amount of paint needed by several gallows and wanted to overcharge me for the paint they brought. Mr. Cortez advised me the paint he bought cost $405, but he could not provide me any receipt or invoice for that amount. When checking at the McCormick Paint store for the amount of paint that Mr. Cortez bought would cost me as a regular customer only $218 and would cost much less to a professional painter which is why I asked Mr. Cortez to buy the paint at his discount price in the first place. I told him I would pay him what it cost. As mentioned above since he could not provide me any receipt or invoice for the $405, I paid him the $218 that it would cost me as a regular customer. Mr. Cortez accepted my check for actual cost. Mr. Cortez and his crew did a good job painting the family, kitchen, and dining rooms, but I had to stay on them to get missed spots and they could do much better in the clean up. I would not hire them again.

Very well. We were very happy with the work and how careful all four of the painters were. We we probably hire them again for more work.

Mr. Cortez and his crew painted my new condo before I moved in. Because I was also remodeling the kitchen, they weren't able to finish that until the kitchen was done. Mr. Cortez and his crew dos excellent work! And he was very patient about having to wait two months to get back in to paint the kitchen. He also repainted my entry way and stairwell because the movers and remodelers marked it up. So it looks brand new! I would definitely recommend C&Painting and I know I will use him again! Plus, he is so polite and friendly!

The team was very professional. You must get these guys to send you an estimate via email up front. I had a coupon and it ended up costing more than I anticipated.

Mr. Cortez responded to my inquiry in good time and provided us with an estimate. He was then able to schedule the work within a week. During the scheduling process he was very responsive. He brought two painters with him on the day we agreed upon. He instructed them in the work to be done. The two proceeded to protect the work area. They were able to remove the built in mantel or molding without much damage to the wall. They proceeded to sand and spot prime and then painted the bedroom as well as addressing the two ceilings. They did so efficiently. They walls and ceilings look terrific. They picked up after themselves, moved the furniture back, and then waited for Mr. Cortez to return. He inspected the work to be sure he was satisfied with it. Overall a terrific experience. I will certainly call them again in the future.

The job was outstanding. They did a great job and worked fast even surprised us with the colors for our kids room when the deal was for one color. We will definitely be working with them again and soon! I would definitely recommend c&painting llc.

Overall, it went very well. They got the job done efficiently and well. The only downside was that they had to reschedule on the morning of our original appointment due to another job, but was able to reschedule it for the next day. We would use them again.

Jose was extremely responsive and quality of work was excellent. Called me back the same evening I left a message to schedule a time to come out and give me an estimate. He matched the paint perfectly, was polite and professional, and did a first-rate job painting my shutters. He cleaned up his work site and left everything neat as a pin. Price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend and would definitely hire him again!

I first called Jose hoping against hope that I could find a painter who could come the very next day and paint the entire main level of our townhouse before our contractor needed to put the floors in. Not only did Jose pick up the phone right away (so rare for some reason!), he was extremely courteous and professional and met me just 30 minutes later to give me an estimate. He is a very sweet man and was super easy to talk to and work with. He also really knows his stuff and took care of the all the little extras without making me jump through hoops or charging me extra. It was a huge relief to find him at that point in time!!! Anyway, his crew showed up early the next day and did a great job. There was one spot that I wanted the darker shade of paint and they painted light (not really their fault) but they came back and happily fixed it anyway. In fact we originally only hired them for the main level but were so pleased that we immediately set up a time for them to come back and do the master bedroom and hallway too. They did a great job again! Jose is seriously a pleasure to work with. I just wish I could find people as nice and competent as him to do everything else I need done around the house!

Attention to Detail. Professionalism. Responsiveness. Knowledge = One Satisfied Customer I called C&Painting about one week before I needed the work done and Jose, the owner, was very responsible and able to do the job on short notice. He was very responsive to my calls and we quickly set up a time to get an estimate. He was also on time to both the estimate and to the job which started at 7 AM. He and his team were very professional. At the estimate appointment, Jose pointed out everything I would need. For example, there were some stains on the ceiling I wanted fixed and he knew what kind of materials were needed to get the job done right so that the stains didn't reappear. He also has great attention to detail and made sure his team did a great job finishing the trim and patches here and there. Whoever had painted the house before did not do a great job and things needed fixing - C&Painting took care of everything. The price was very fair. I am very pleased with the work that they did and will likely reach out to have them do the exterior paint.

I wanted a change and a little sprucing up in my home. Jose and his crew did an excellent job of transforming my home. He came very quickly for the estimate. I knew the color I wanted for the bedroom but not the other areas. He was good enough to leave me the paint color book so I could decide at my leisure, telling me to call when I had decided and then we would schedule a date for the work to begin, which we did. I was sorry that they had to reschedule on short notice from the original date that was set but we picked a new date and the crew arrived early on the new day. All the walls were prepped, including repairing a hole that had been cut by an electrician for a new switch. They arrived early each morning, moved and covered all the furniture as needed and cleaned up each day. Originally, he thought it would take 2 days but they didn't want to rush the job and came back the third day to finish. I am especially happy with the trim. Previously, my trim and doors were painted using oil based paint but Jose assured me that the paint he would be using would be perfect. It is.

C&P Painting (Mr. Cortez and his crew) did excellent work! The workmen arrived promptly each morning, did their work quietly and left at the end of the day after having cleaned up. The job took 3 days to complete. Our house is over 20 years old and in good shape but the master bedroom needed some additional care as the walls were uneven. The room also has vaulted ceilings and a small sitting room. Mr. Cortez's crew sanded the walls, did minor repair and evened out the walls where they were uneven. At the end of each day before the workmen left, Mr. Cortez returned to review and spot check and make sure the work was done to his satisfaction. It was a pleasure working with Mr. Cortez. He even repaired and painted a hole in the ceiling outside the master bedroom that had come through when our attic fan leaked. The final day of the project was spent with Mr. Cortez himself reviewing what had been done making sure again that all was done to his satisfaction. It was truly a pleasure working with him and his crew. He stands behind his work and is willing to work with your schedule. You don't find many contractors these days that are willing to do that. I will certainly be calling him for any future paint jobs.
