Baumann's Lawn & Landscape

Rick and his team did an amazing job. Our yard was very unkept and neglected for years by our tenants at our investment property. Rick turned this yard from the worst yard to the best yard in the neighborhood. Now we are getting ready to list the rowhouse and I think the work Baumann's did will help us sell quicker.

The project went extremely well. The contractor showed up exactly on time, devoted enough manpower to complete the job in a single day, and the workmanship was expert. The owner was on site for much of the work and responded quickly to any suggestions by us. In some cases the firm provided services that were beyond the strict scope of the contract but at no additional cost. We will definitely use Baumann's again and would recommend to any of our neighbors.

I received a quick and reasonable estimate for sod in my front yard. Though I decided to do work myself, I will use them in future.

This company provides excellent work. The grass always appeared that they were keeping the blades sharpened on their lawnmower. The grass was always cut based on the temperature outside. We were never concerned if they would show up each week. The only reason we are not currently using them is because their prices were higher than we wanted to pay each week.

Lawn was weedy and sparse, now it is lush and beautiful. I get compliments. Good company, recommend highly.

They did an excellent job. The price was very reasonable and their advice on maintaining/managing the area was appreciated. The area where they worked looked like new when they finished. We are very happy with the results and would definitely use them again.

We have not used this service, but we are planning to soon. Thus far, they have only come to do an initial inspection and provide an estimate for the needed services and their costs. Pat came out and he was great. He walked me through his assessment of our trees in the front and the back, what each needed, which and what were priorities, and an initial ballpark figure. We are planning to schedule a time for them to come out soon. I will note that the Angie's List deal that they were offering did backlog them a bit. It did not seem they were ready for the demand that the deal generated. It did take them a little while to get back to me, but they did everything in their power to accommodate me (including coming out on their day off because it was better for my schedule).

They were fantastic. They were a little more higher; I got somebody else to do it a little cheaper for me. I was pleased. They always worked with me like the days I needed it done. I always dealt with Matt. He was the owner and in charge of the landscaping and mowing.

They have been servicing my lawn care needs for over two years. The staff is punctual professional and know what they are doing. My lawn has never looked better. They aren't cheap, but not unreasonable either.

I have used Rick many times. He is always professional and courteous. He is reliable and always returns phone call/emails. His work is meticulous. I would highly recommend him and his company!

Did not need to do anything, because, my neighbors helped while I was away. The cost to go to the site and take a picture to show to me, was excessive ($90). I co ncluded that he was honest.

They were fast, efficient, thorough, flexible, professional and I would use them again.

We completely renovated our backyard in Washington, DC by installing a flagstone patio, walkway, re-grading, new sod, and a few other touches. Rick and Baumann's were great. Rick was very creative in the initial meeting with us, and helped us think about the best possible designs. He also was very considerate of our budget and helped us think about think about the key drivers of cost. He was communicative, and answered our emails and phone calls promptly and professionally. And, the results are beautiful. Two things I would point out to future customers. First, we wanted to renovate our backyard over the summer and started contacting contractors in May. This, as we learned, is way too late. This was not specific to Baumann's. Every landscaper told us that they were already booked with projects. So, lesson learned, start early. Our work was completed in September. Second, Baumann's price was not the cheapest that we encountered, but it was relatively consistent with the 4 bids that we received. We selected Rick because of his energy, ideas, and professionalism. We also appreciated that later in the project, when potential changes arose, he always took the time to talk to us about them. For instance, there was a point at which we considered adding some additional flagstone to our basement stairs, but realized it was not in our budget. We communicated that to Rick and he was totally respectful and never tried to convince us we should do something we weren't ready to do. I appreciated that. Also, the quality of the flagstone work is really top notch. It looks amazing and, on the practical side, Rick and his team took great pains to ensure that the slope of the patio falls specifically to our outdoor drains to help avoid water getting to our house. So, bottom line, Baumann's may not be the cheapest contractor, but it was in line with most of the estimates we received, and I though the quality and professionalism were worth the little bit extra.

Apart from a few scheduling changes, all went well. Rick Baumann understood what I was wanting and worked with me. Fence install was superb.

We're very pleased with Rick and his team. Their work was on time and successful. He was responsive to last minutes changes without freaking out and was reasonable in his charges.

Rick Baumann and his team performed end to end Hardscaping in back yard from design and plans, assistance with HOA submission and follow up calls, assistance in material selection to installation and completion on time and within budget. Rick personally worked with me on all of the above with constant communication during and after the job completion. Baumann's Lawn and Landscape performed as describe and the results are fabulous with every neighbor passing by making comments on the well done job and the professionalism of his team led by a Master Stone Mason, Tony! Many neighbors would stop and watch the work progression by master mason Tony. I am thrilled with the work and plan on having Baumann's Lawn and Landscape back to do more work in the spring. Additionally they perform regularly schedule lawn and landscape care and maintenance for me year round punctually once a week at a very reasonable price. Baumann's has contracted and completed at east two nearby neighbors since the work on my yard was completed. I highly recommend Baumann's Lawn and Landscape for all your landscaping needs.

Rick and his staff were great, and we could not be happier with our new patio. The area where the patio was constructed presented a number of problems due to our poorly constructed utility room. Rick and his staff kept in touch with us about every problem and came up, and they always had great solutions. We didn't really have a specific concept for our patio - just a very general idea of what we wanted. Rick had a clear vision, and we found ourselves agreeing with all of his recommendations. We certainly will use Baumann's Lawn & Landscape in the future.

Rick and I had trouble coming up with a time for him to meet me, so he said he would stop by and look at everything we discussed and contact me afterwards with recommendations and a quote. I waited two weeks after not hearing from him and followed up with an e-mail. I never received a response. I cannot say what the quality of his services would be, and others rated him highly (which is why I contacted him). It's unfortunate though when providers are unresponsive. I would rather have someone tell me that they are too busy up front instead of promising they will do somethng and not foillowing through.

Results were excellent by late fall and continued through most of the next summer.

Richard and his crew arrived and in short order had cleaned up the garden, removing weeds, trimming bushes and placing mulch. They measured for the cement stones they needed and went to a nearby Home Depot and brought them. As promised, the work was completed from start to finish within a couple of hours. He showed me what they had done, discussed future work and left.

Great company only stopped service due to financial situation. Very accommodating.

Got an estimate from Rick and it seemed very reasonable. Asked him when he could start and luckily enough, he had an empty spot in his schedule the next day. I met him and his team on the property the following morning and he walked me around the property, showing me exactly what the team intended to do. Understanding that we were selling our home, he also offered advice on other items that might need attention before putting the home on the market. His team was in and out quickly and left the property in pristine condition. We are purchasing a new home in 2014 and I look forward to working with his team again at the new location. Highly recommended!

Matt Baumann responded on short notice and did a great job on an overgrown yard. He made several passes accross the yard in different directions to ensure our sink holes and divits were evenly cut. He trimmed and edged as well. The yard looked great when he was done. He was prompt, curtious, professional and incredibly accommodating, and I'm sure to use them for our fall clean up in the near future.
