I bought my house in 2009 and after having a not great experience with two other companies (one from Angie's list), I contacted Baumann's. And, right from the start, the experience was great. Rick spent probably a half hour or more explaining everything about lawn care even before I had hired them. As a first time home owner,I can't tell you how many times I called him over the last two years and every time he has been patient with me and very responsive. When they started working on my lawn it had grubs and was in real bad shape. After a few months of their treatments and seeding, etc., the lawn looked great. A neighbor who has lived a few doors down for over twenty some years, said that the lawn has never looked that good. In 2010, another neighbor asked me to stop treating the lawn due to her chemical sensitivities (even though I believe the treatments were not really toxic), Baumann's and I complied with her wishes. Because I am not using chemicals (including getting rid of the weeds), Baumann's did a double seeding this fall and the lawn still looks pretty good. In 2011, I am going to use a neighbor who needs the work and since the work will only be seeding and cutting. When I told Rick that I won't be using them next year, again he was just the nicest guy in the world. I will not hesitate hiring Baumann's again in the future if my circumstances change for any reason.

Baumann's were very professional. There was a whole crew who did everything from weeding to pruning to blowing leaves, etc. plus they put down a weed preventer so that we can start fresh in the spring. I liked the fact that they did not try to sell me any plants. In the past, I have hired landscapers who were only interested in what they could sell me.

From start to finish, this was a great experience.

I was absolutely stunned when I got home. My front yard now has curb appeal. I love the layout of the bushes and plants and they way they are intertwined. They explained to me what they were going to do and how the plants would be laid out which sounded good to me since I know nothing about landscaping, I can't tell you how very pleased I am with the way everything turned out and the professionalism they showed. They completed the work sooner than expected and I will definately call them again the next time I need anything done.

Greg is one of the finest professionals I have dealt with. He has high standards for the way he wants things to look and doesn't rest until these standards are met. I was extremely pleased with his work.

Wonderful! The Bauman's are prompt at delivering estimates, returning phone calls, and come exactly as scheduled. We've never had any problem with the work they've done for us.

We recently moved into a house that needed extensive yard clean up, including compost heap removal, debris and stone removal, extensive weeding, and ivy removal. Rick Baumann was very responsive and quickly provided an estimate for the yard clean up and regular lawn service. He brought a team of men to do the job and was able to complete the clean up in four hours. The team was very thorough and hauled away all the debris. Lawn service has been excellent. Lawn service is typically a flat fee, and they mow based on the grass height, so the service does become pricier on average during drier periods.

They're a great company. The guy who gave the estimate was very friendly and easy-going. They were thorough. There was a miscommunication about what they were going to do. He ended up just doing the front at no charge. I thought that was very nice.

Disappointing that they called, we had a conversation about what I need, but they never got back to me and I never saw a quote. Guess they don't need the business.

The quote that they gave us was pretty expensive. They were very professional and got back to us with the estimate in an efficient manner. They were available in terms of calling them and talking to them. I didn’t choose them just because of their price. I would call them back for an estimate in the future.

We decided not to go with this company at this time.

They were ok, we were satisfied. They were punctual and did a good job.

The experience was good, they were just a little high in price.

Called the company setup an appointment to look at the tree. Got an estimate on the time, cost, and followup afterwards. Inquired about whether they were bonded and insured. Person was very professional and courteous. We were very pleased.

Rick Baumann and brother Matt Baumann were hired three years ago to take care of our large yard and grounds at our home in Silver Spring. Both Rick and Matt are friendly, professional and accomodating to our needs and expectations. They are punctual, responsive and courteous, taking pride in delivering high quality service. If we need extras, such as mulch delivery or plantings, theya re happy to provide on short notice. We continue to use them as they are a prefect example of dedicated, hard-working and friendly small, family-owned business. We highly recommend them!

Everything looks great. They did a really good job. We have now signed another contract with them to have them do another job for us again soon. They will also be doing a routine lawn service soon. They are relatively expensive for the lawn maintenance, but they do a really good job which is why we're calling them back.

Baumann's has managed our lawn and landscaping needs for 10 years. Their work is fabulous in all respects. Rick takes care of our lawn and property as if it were his. We engaged Rick in 1998 after a prior contractor nearly killed our grass after cutting it to short. Rick took over responsibility for the lawn. He cut the grass and trimmed around all the beds and trees. He also fertilized the lawn. After a few months the lawn was looking fabulous. We moved in 2003 from Silver Spring to Potomac and Rick followed us. The property was in disrepair when we moved in. Rick took over our 3.2 acre lot and managed everything - lawn, fertilizing, trees, shrubs, everything having to do with the property. The work is first rate. They come the same time each week to cut the grass, trim around the trees and bed, and clean-up after themselves. Rick will call if there is some additional work that needs to be done, otherwise he will just do what needs to be done and bill me (this is the agreement I have with him). I can't say enough good things about Rick, his brother Matthew, and the entire Baumann's Team - they are phenomenal! I have never met a contractor that was so customer focused, delivers such quality work, and whom I trusted so much. If you want your property taken care of properly, call Rick Baumann and relax!
