We contracted with Alves Construction in late August 2023 to remove our brick porch and walkway and replace it with flagstone. We also had a stone border installed on either side of our driveway with landscape lighting and a small circular stone bedding around our mailbox. From start to finish, Miguel was very easy to work with and highly professional. He contacted me immediately after I submitted an inquiry through Angie’s list and set up a meeting to review the project and provided an estimate within a very short amount of time. He was very available to answer questions and his pricing was competitive and reasonable. He was not supposed to start work until after November 1 but I was pleasantly surprised when he indicated that he would be able to get started early. He was able to finish the work in under two weeks, and his crew was always on time and worked diligently from 8 AM to 3 PM every day. He kept me abreast of the progress regularly during the construction and made only minor changes to what we originally contracted. The quality of the work is excellent and I was very pleased with the outcome. Miguel even came back over a year later to replace a part of a light fixture that had broken during a wind storm. This has been a beautiful upgrade to our home. I highly recommend Miguel and Alves Construction.

We hired Alves Construction to replace our 40+ year old concrete patio and front walk and brick paver patio with flagstones over concrete base. The crew worked efficiently and the final product looks great. When we faced delays due to weather and unexpected issues with the slab, Miguel was great with communicating and easy to work with.

Miguel and his team, led by Jose, were fantastic! They installed a beautiful flagstone walkway for us, and not only were the most affordable, but they also did a meticulous job. They assisted with painting as well as rock installation, and they even offered to install gorgeous path lighting too. Can't recommend enough!

Miguel and his team did an absolutely fantastic job in renovating the patio of our DC row house. The stone pavers were impeccably installed, the lighting is beautiful and perimeter well secured from DC rats. Miguel was very responsive to all our needs and was easy to communicate with. Needed our brick columns to be repaired/re-pointed due to many mortar and brick cracks. Alves Construction LLC provided skilled brick masons. They were professional, on time and worked very hard each day. The crew of two took out the old mortar between the bricks with electric saws and hand held chisels and then put new mortar making the columns look like new again. Thank you!

We got Alviz's number from Irvin's Stone when we were in the shop looking at stone options. Alviz was very good to work with and his crew took their time to make sure they were paying attention to details. He gave us some design ideas as well, which was helpful when we were trying to decide on colors and appearance. We are very happy with the final updates.

Miguel and his craftsmen provided the greatest contacting experience we ever had! Our new flagstone walkway is beautiful, the drainage problem is now wonderfully resolved, and the minor repairs are of high quality. The craftsmen were very respectful of the property, were here bright and early every day and unobtrusive, time promises were fulfilled without any misrepresentation, and the communication was great...

Poor communication. Took our $500 deposit then ghosted us for eight weeks. I finally scheduled the project. On the first day, Miguel and his team were doing a poor quality job. I had to take a day off of work to oversee it to make sure they were doing it right. They promised that since they were pouring concrete with a significant chance of rain, they would protect it with a tarp. They didn't place the tarp. I asked them to call me when they were done. They just left. I asked them to return to bring a tarp. They said it would take two hours. It started raining. I scrambled to borrow tarps from neighbors. He never placed a tarp. Really disappointing. I recommend, as a guiding principle of the business, to do what you say you'll do. Communicate. And get your quality up to standard.
