Description of Work: We contacted Prince Construction for an estimate to change our carpeted stairs to hardwoods. Prince was 1 of 2 estimates we had. Brian Prince was in area when I called and came right over to take measurements for the estimate. Brian is very polite and professional. After a brief discussion, he completely understood what our goal was and was happy to comply. He gave us an estimate for the following: |Installation of new oak treads on stairs and upper landing with new paintable risers. New treads are to be installed over existing plywood treads and the client to stain and paint newly installed material. | |As the job was relatively small, Brian choose to do it completely on his own. He worked quickly and cleanly. The only "complaint" may be the that he needed some additional trim, I believe, and it was another week before this small area was completed. We were not really bothered by it, I think we both (Brian and I) failed to communicate the timetable for that small part. Truly not a big deal as we are very pleased with the outcome. I would ABSOLUTELY, recommend Brian as I believe he is very fair and does nice work. | |The other estimate we had was significantly higher for the same work.

Description of Work: Installation of Eave Ventilation. Vents were inexpensive (cheaper) type and not what I ask for. I was told that's what the local hardware store had available. He apparently had no contractor supply source. I had him do the job only because of other commitments and needed the job done right away.

 + 0 moreWe had several estimates from different contractors for our project which consisted of replacing 12 interior doors. Our house is old and the existing doors are all of different sizes. Some contractors were not interested in doing this work because it entailed carpentry skills and special tools. Mr. Prince was willing to take on this project and he came with good reviews. His price was not the least expensive but we felt comfortable having him work on our house. Mr. Prince completed the project. There were a few delays because of the weather but that was understandable. We feel Mr. Prince was responsive and prompt. The job was completed and we are happy with the results. I would recommend him to others that have a project that requires professional carpentry skills.
Description of Work: Installed 12 interior doors including new hardware.

I wanted quality workmanship, not generic poorly-made box store items. Brian did a great job, and gets any of my future business.

 + 0 moreThe upgrades look good and were done well. He did sent a good update a couple times as well. The only downside was it took 2 weeks longer than originally discussed.
Description of Work: Performed a variety of fix-up things around the house. The biggest was tiling a bathroom, fixing a leak, redoing the bathtub surround, kitchen counter replacement and some other smaller odds and ends.

 + -1 moreWe've used Brian several times. We are military living out of state and rent out a town home. He's always been very punctual, reliable and trustworthy. His higher prices are worth it. When I called him for more work in March, I even told him I was happy we had someone we could rely on. He said he would be out to our home on March 28th to take care of the immediate problem on the outside of the house, an easy shutter reattachment, then return the following for the rest of the list a week or so later. I called him 2.5 weeks later and left a message, never returned my call. Called again today, left a message, and no return call. I finally called my tenants to see if he had come out, they said they never heard from him or saw him. They didn't call to let me know as they didn't want to be pushy renters.

 + -1 moreI liked them very much. I was just waiting for the weather to get warmer before I was gonna give them a call to see if they could come out and do them. I'm very pleased with him. He's a very nice man, very professional and he does a nice job. The lighting is much better. It's not as cold as the fluorescent light and he did a nice job. He paint it over and everything and I really liked it. The price is very reasonable.

 + -1 moreI initially contacted Prince Construction and sent photos of my entertainment center explaining what I wanted to have done. Mr. Prince reviewed the photos and said he would be able to make the changes I wanted and provided me with an estimate. I dropped the base cabinet off at his shop and he said it would be ready in a couple of weeks. He called me a few weeks later and said the work had been completed. When I stopped by to pick up the cabinet, I was very pleased with the changes he had made. He had not only widened the cabinet but also installed a matching, slide out drawer for additional storage of DVDs. The design, wood trim, and stain color matched very closely to the original cabinet. In fact, you would have to look very closely to realize that the cabinet wasn't originally made to the new dimensions. He even installed hidden teflon guides to allow the drawer to open & close effortlessly. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and would definitely recommend Prince Construction for any construction/cabinet making jobs in the future.
Description of Work: I had previously purchased a relatively expensive oak entertainment center and wanted to expand the center console to fit a larger flat screen TV. Prince Construction enlarged the cabinet to my requested dimensions matching the original design, wood, trim, and stain color.

Description of Work: Mr. Prince is a very competent, professional gentleman. He was hired to fill in holes and spaces that allowed the mice to invade the interior. I have not had any of the critters since. I would definitely hire him again.
