A terrible experience all around. Nick should have been honest that the scope of work was more than he was capable of doing when we hired him to renovate our home and add an addition. After walking into our house on a rainy day and discovering that the house had not been properly protected from the elements and ruined our brand new kitchen cabinets, we decided to terminate our contract with him. We both also noticed that the framing of the main bearing wall in the addition (holding the roof up) was being built completely wrong. We brought in a structural engineer to inspect it and they were appalled at what they found, deeming our house a hazard to be in. It cost us A LOT of money out of pocket to correct the mistakes upon hiring another contractor. We also found out after we fired him that none of the work he had done had been inspected. Which meant it all had to be ripped out and re-done. This also cost us a lot of money out of pocket. Furthermore, he was lazy, unmotivated, and unresponsive. It became normal to go weeks without him coming to our house or hearing from him. He never returned phone calls or emails. To sum it up, DO NOT HIRE this contractor. You will regret it.
Description of Work: Demo and framing for renovation of house.

First of all, if you're reading this Nick, there's still time to make it right. I will change this review if all is completed per our contract. I hired Nick in mid-October to restore three original wood windows on my old townhouse. He agreed to a price of $800 to remove the windows, strip the paint, repair any wood damage, paint them, and reinstall them. The windows were removed and taken to Nick's shop. I have not seen them since. it's now been over three months. I need to sell the house, but have no front or basement windows. Nick has had several delays. First, the stripping shop he uses was very backed up causing a month delay. After I pressured Nick to complete the job, he decided to strip them at his own shop. He then said that during the process, the large arched window broke and needed to be replaced. He said that he had it replaced and that he was all ready to do the install. On install day, he emailed me and said one of the sashes broke. Oddly though, he didn't install either of the other windows that did not break. I still have no windows and have not been able to reach Nick by phone, email or text. I've engaged my legal counsel and gave Nick a week to complete the overdue job before I start down that road. If he comes through with the windows and the job is completed per our contract, I will change this grade and review so that it only reflects the lateness of the delivered work. It's all up to him now.
Description of Work: Window restoration gone bad.

Nick remodeled our bathroom. A 4-week project turned into a 7 month ordeal. There was extensive water damage to the floor below our bathroom due to poor plumbing work on two separate occasions (which he did eventually fix). Very little attention to detail, sloppy paint and caulk work. Floor tiles are uneven. He broke part of our toilet and it took several weeks for it to be replaced. We had asked him to save out our antique claw-foot tub so that we could sell it and he claims he broke that too, because it had disappeared when we came home from work one day I had to ask Nick to come back to fix these problems several times and the bathroom is still not what I had hoped it would look like. I would not recommend this contractor, given our very negative experience.
Description of Work: Nick remodeled our full bathroom. Torn down old tile on the floor and walls. Built a new wall and installed a new shower and sink/vanity. New tile on the floor. New drywall on the walls.

Nick was quick, very professional, and prompt. My husband really liked him. We are going to make another appointment with Charm City Remodeling to have some additional work done. I look forward to them coming over.
Description of Work: The appointment was set up very quickly after I purchased the deal. Nick came over. My husband "supervised" the work. We needed our ceiling patched and a hole in our basement floor filled in - things that were done by our radiant heat installer.
