E Stanley Asphalt Paving

I bought a coupon for a certain amount of driveway coverage, and purchased the remainder at the price listed on Angie's list. All considered, although not quite the bargain I thought it would be, it went well. Quality of work was good, and a good value overall. I would definitely use them again.

Very well - they arrived on time and provided good service. Very unique sealer that is used and supposedly guaranteed for 5 years.

They performed the work in timely manner and did a pretty good job. The Deal did include crack sealing, but I didn't see evidence of that. Although I had done a rough walk-off estimate of my driveway size and it seemed to be within the size limit for the Deal, it exceeded the square footage limit so I paid an additional $50.

We've had problems with others performing this service in the past, but this experience was excellent. We are completely satisfied and will use this company next time we need the driveway sealed. They arrived on time, were very efficient, and made absolutely no mess. Perfect!

Never had the work done. Angie's mediator helped in the process of a complete refund.

The job went extremely well. We have no questions about using Mr. Stanley's company again in the future, and in, fact inquired about some concrete work and were given a fair estimate, in our opinion.

We had 5 estimates for this driveway asphalt work - all through contractors rated well on Angie's List. E. Stanley Paving was the lowest estimate we received. The work took 1 day as promised. Work started the day expected. Driveway looks terrific. Exceeded our expectations. Contractor resurfaced an adjoining small concrete area with asphalt - this had not been in our original estimate and contractor did not charge extra for this. Very happy that the contractor went above and beyond. Will recommend others use this company.

Everything went well. They were easy to work with and prompt.

This was a big deal so we paid up front. It took 6 weeks to get it done. Not all that delay was there fault as it did rain. However there were occaisions they said they would be there and didn't show up and didnt call. The quality is ok- not bad, but not great. I might use them again if the price is right but I would shop around first.

I will update the report when the work is done or I get a refund because they never completed the job.

First appointment was canceled due to rain (not anyone's fault obviously). When the second appointment came around, they did show up as planned, although no specific time range was given. I had asked but never received a call about approx. arrival time. I am satisfied with the sealing job, although I was charged $100 extra on the day of the job to fill in a small (4"x4") patch, which I think was outrageous. But under the circumstances I didn't have much choice. The crack filing seems to have been done very casually, and there was some overspray on the concrete adjoining my garage door. But if the sealing holds up reasonably well and prevents future problems, I'll consider it a worthwhile investment.

Excellent overall. The only issue was that I didn't really know when they were coming. I was given a "range" which is just one of my personal pet peives. But they completed the job so fast, in the long run it didn't matter!

Service was performed on the day we contracted for. The driveway looks great and this is the best sealing job we've had done in the last 13 years. We would definitely use E Stanley Asphalt Paving for any future driveway work.

He did a great job. He was reasonable and on time. He did everything great, just like the AL recommendations said. I even recommended him to a friend and he did a great job on hers too. He is now helping me with other things. He is currently going to be fixing my gutters.

Everything seemed to go fine. I hope it lasts, my driveway looks very nice.

Excellent communication with company. Quality of job was performed as promised. Cost of job was in line with estimate. Workers were polite, professional, punctual and completed the job in the time frame listed. Workers performed job and cleaned the area upon completion. Job was reviewed and approved before workers left job site. Finished product is attractive and adds to the physical appearance of the property. Will recommend this company to neighbors and friends.

everything went well. The patch was done well and the sealing helped to blend the repairs in. It's been over 6 months and I've had no settling or seperation. I'll ahve Ernie seal the remainder fo my driveway this year.

We contacted Ernie Stanely Jr. in early March, 2011 and received a quote for both the driveway and sidewalk work. One tree close to the house had to be removed by Ryan Tree Service before they could begin the work on the sidewalks. Ernie uses a subcontractor for the concrete work. The subcontractor laid out the sidewalks with artistic bends and flares at the end. They then laid a 3 foot wide sidewalk which is 3.5" deep and about 200 feet long. Overall, I am pleased with their concrete work. Our old driveway had a depressed area which collected rainwater and had big pothole from all the freeze cycles. Ernie repaired and built up the damaged part of the driveway to insure good drainage and then repaved about 2700 of driveway. Although their start date was delayed about a week due to rain, they arrived about 10AM and left about 6:30PM. They demonstrated attention to detail and clearly wanted to perform a superior repaving job which met with my satisfaction. Now the downside. The driveway and sidewalks were elevated 2 to 6 inches above the surrounding grass to insure good drainage. That meant that i had to wheelbarrow in 100+ loads of topsoil and landscape the edges of the driveway and sidewalk and then plant grass-seed. Just be aware that homeowner may have some landscaping responsibilities after the paving contractors leave. Overall, I am quite satisfied with E. Stanley Asphalt Paving and would use them again.

My experience is dated (in pre-Angie's List 2003), but I am amazed to see so many glowing reviews. I suppose people and companies can change, however our experience was such that I'd never call these guys again. E. Stanley was one of maybe 3 estimates I got, as representative of the four families that lived along our drive. The young man I dealt with seemed very eager to get our job, and he assured me that he'd do a good job for us. His demeanor and a competitive price were the deciding factors. Plus, he said, all work was guaranteed for a year. Our first work date was canceled at the last minute, supposedly for the birth of a child. While I would not and did not argue with the reason, does a company really put a whole team's work on hold? In addition, one of the residents at the time was quite ill, employing a private nurse, whose services were suspended for that day while family took off work to fill in. I was the one who took the heat for the company's cancellation. Work did get done, but, appearances can be deceiving. Because our driveway was/is a bit higher in the center than on the edges, the contracted 3" of asphalt on the edges proved to be less than 3" down the middle. As the asphalt wore through over the winter, and since we were given a "guarantee", in spring I started calling the company to make repairs. Not one of my many calls was returned, so a neighbor took over the attempts to make contact. His calls were also ignored, until he left a message that his next call would be to a lawyer. With that bit of prodding, someone finally called the neighbor back; repairs were scheduled and completed. The paving has not held up all that well, and we're due another resurfacing. But, we won't be calling E. Stanley.

We had a driveway in need of repair and resurfacing. In addition, over the past few years water had begun collecting at a low point where the driveway and sidewalk met. The owner/manager was very friendly and straightforward. He went over a few possible solutions and decided to modify the slope of the asphalt driveway slightly, break up and re pour concrete for the sidewalk, and put in a drain at the trouble area. A few days later they came out in the morning and performed the work as planned. Additionally, we had them re-pitched a portion of the concrete walkway leading to the front door to help water drain there as well. They had everything completed by early afternoon. We were extremely happy with the way the driveway and sidewalks look. After a few strong showers we can safely say that we no longer have any water issues. The only fault we have is that it appears some of the workers may have left lunch wrappers/trash behind and they could have done a better job of leveling the section of the lawn that they had to tear up.

Overall, E STANLEY ASPHALT PAVING and, in particular, Ernie & Rich. did an excellent job and were a pleasure to deal with. They usually returned my calls/messages within the hour. While estimating and planning the job, they were punctual and professional. When it came time to start the job, we ran into some weather related scheduling issues. However, Ernie & Rich kept me "in the loop" and made sure I knew that the job was as important to them as it was to me. When the job was finished, they wouldn't accept payment until my wife and I had a chance to inspect the job and were completely satisfied. I wish all businesses/contractors were more like E STANLEY ASPHALT PAVING!

Mr. Stanley came out when he said he would, and gave me a quick estimate, and scheduled the work. When the workmen gave, they carefully prepped the area. (The grass had intruded on the left side of the old driveway, and several areas had popped up in the middle of the old driveway.) The new paving was expertly applied, and Mr. Stanley was there to ask if I was pleased with the job, which I was.
