E Stanley Asphalt Paving

I signed up for the big deal in December 2012. The work wasn't done until 5 APR 2013. After several false starts, mostly due to weather. Once I received a firm date from Ernie, he showed up on time and did a nice job sealing the driveway. He was very affable and worked quickly and well. The driveway looks great. If I had one minor criticism, it was a lack of communication. I called about once a month asking when I would be scheduled, Ernie was not real proactive in calling me. Again, this was a minor thing. When he set the date he showed up on time and did a great job.

Called the company by phone. Mr. Stanley (father) returned the call. Set up appointment for an estimate and to discuss what I wanted done. He came out on 4/4/2013 as agreed. Listened to my desire and concern. He made a couple of suggestions, i. e. ramps. Told me what he would do to make the driveway sound. Set up a date, 4/8/2013, for the work to be accomplished. His son arrived at the stated time and date with a crew. He discussed the work to be done, to ensure we were in agreement. The crew worked diligently, professionally, and courteously. Upon completion, the cleaned up and left behind a beautiful driveway, fully meeting expectations. Mr. Stanley (son) was gracious, thanking me for giving them the work. Both Stanley's are gentlemen and truly want to satisfy the customer.

Purchased the deal before Christmas 2012 but based off weather and the Holidays we waited to us it until March. Ernie came out an inspected the area and confirmed details. We finally locked in a time and performed the service. Overall very happy and would bring them back again.

The owner came personally for the estimate, wasn't the cheapest but offered honest advice and a good price for the best quality. Kept in communication until the job date came. He personally supervised the job, workers very courteous. Owner was a pleasure to deal with. Could not be happier. I would happily refer this company to a friend. I have extensive experience in construction and general contracting.

Next time I will be sure to ask what the price differential would be.

They were okay. They did a spray on coating but they didn’t do any crack filling like they said they would.

They ashowe up on the agreed upon date, brought all the necessary manpower and equipment. their work was clean, professionally installed. The workers wer courteous and conscientious, the price was very reasonable. I'm very happy withg their work.

I had noticed that the asphalt was beginning to look a little "light" in color, so felt it should be sealed. I was very happy with the original paving E. Stanley did, so when I saw the special on sealing I took advantage of it. The crew arrived when planned, completely cleaned the driveway, and cleared grass and other debris away from the edges of the driveway. They torched the couple of places where crabgrass had come up near the edges of the asphalt. Then then put down a full layer of sealant.

Company was very polite and flexible with scheduling, even accommodated a last minute reschedule. They arrived on time and completed the work within the estimated time frame. We have had no problems with the work completed.

The company representative arrived in a pickup truck with a tank of sealant in the back, used a blower to clean loose debris to clean off the driveway, and then used a sprayer to spray on the sealant. The whole process took less than an hour, and the sealant has held up well.

I am very satisfied with both the quality and the cost of the work.

They were prompt, courteous, and did a great job. There was a misunderstanding about what the job cost, but they honored what we understood the cost to be.

An effective crew arrived around 9:30 am and began removing old asphalt and regrading the sub-base. This took most of the first day, The second day the asphalt was laid down taking about 8 hours (I have a large driveway) and compacted.

Ernie Stanley came out to give us a quote the day after we called the company, which we learned about from Angies List. Our driveway is almost 200 feet long and had not been resurfaced or seal coated in over 20 years. We originally wanted to repave and widen it on one side to accommodate double wide parking for more cars. After seeing the site, Ernie made some great suggestions and improvements, including widening both sides by simply removing a small section of sidewalk. As he left, he even gave us his cell number to phone over the weekend with any questions, which we did have after examining the other bids we received. Although others companies could do the job sooner, Ernie's written estimate of the work was the lowest of the four bids we received, and included removing and moving some old bricks, cutting the section of sidewalk, and bringing in soil to improve the grading on one side of the drive. He gave us two pricing options on the work that could be done - total replacing or partial replacing and resurfacing. No money was required up front and different payment options were also given. When we needed to change our scheduled day due to our own work, Ernie moved the job to the next day for us. The crew worked hard and completed the job as promised with Ernie here helping and supervising. We would gladly recommend them to others and plan to have them back in the spring to do some other work for us. It is obvious they have been in this family business a long time because their care and attention to detail to meet the needs of the client and have their work look as great as possible is outstanding!

Ernie was very helpful and great at estimating the job. His quote price was lower than another person by $160. His crew did an excellent job. They listen to me and tried very hard to follow everything I told them to do. I am really very happy with Ernie's work.

There was a misunderstanding about what we thought was going to be done, and what he actually did. We had wanted to get rid of the slope in our driveway, so that there wouldn't be standing water in the same spot. After the first rain, water was standing where it always had been. We contacted him and he came back out. He would have had to take everything off and redo it all to create a different slope, and he wasn't willing to go that far. He did put another layer of sealant and told us that there wouldn't be problems because the sealant would prevent water from infiltrating. He seems like an honest person and it was just a mis-communication about what we wanted to have done. The driveway looks pretty, but it still has the dip where it always had it.

The asphalt driveway looks good. The concrete work was okay. Disappointed the porch has a hairline crack--told by contractor it was to small to repair. My husband had to apply concrete patch on the porch against the house and the edge of the bottom step because there was space where water could seep in. Also he had to add concrete patch to one of the expansion joints in one pad because it had cracked. I hope this concrete holds up and I dont get any additional cracks. I had to clean asphalt from my concrete driveway apron and my garage floor; it was not hard to remove with goof off; however, it should have been done by the contractor. I gave Stanley Asphalt a C for responsiveness because they told us how to fix the concrete and how to remove the unwanted asphalt rather than insisting on doing the repairs themselves. Also when I went to clean my windows in the fall I found splatters of concrete on my 2 year old new windows near the porch.

They came on time, performed their work efficiently using powered spray equipment from the truck bed, and they left. No drama. About 1100 square feet of asphalt drive and parking pad.

Everything was fine, and the service was adequate for what we needed. However, I felt as though the materials used in the process could have been better.

I called E. Stanley and made an appointment for an estimate. The owner, Ernie came out two days later and gave me a written estimate on the spot. I signed the estimate and we scheduled a date for two weeks later. The crew arrived at scheduled time and the job was completed by 2:30. The crew was very professional and Rich was a pleasure to work with. The asphalt is perfectly even with no seams and also drains really well. We could not have been more pleased and would recommend this company highly.

I worked with Ernie Stanley, owner, throughout the project. He was very flexible in accommodating my schedule and we worked together around a period of rainy weather. He and his crew arrived at the agreed upon time and date and did a very professional job. They cleaned the driveway and used a black granular filler to fill-in some minor cracking around edging and areas that had been roughed up in 3-point turns. They then used an asphalt-based sealer to spray seal the entire driveway; giving 2 coats to the areas where they applied the black granular filler. Cardboard was used to control spatter around foundations and garages. The job was thorough and the finished appearance was great.

The owner was very polite and show up for the estimate. He gave an estimate of $275 at which I balked and he changed it to $190.00. Finally, the day came to seal the driveway..appointment.at 1:30pm. I left the house and returned (in my car which is usually in the garage) at 12:15 to see that the workers had already been there and gone ..sealing...apparently well before the appointed time! " How nice," I thought. I like being home when workers are on my property; nevertheless, they'd left. The driveway was sealed and the rain and thunderstorm began about 4 - 5 hours later causing the asphalt to become quite uneven with various circular swirls cascading down the driveway. I might add that the edges of my grass also had been sealed and various spots on the drive had not been paved while other areas were covered more than others causing the driveway to be uneven. I phoned the company and the owner was immediately apologetic and said his people would come and correct those issues. I kept waiting for a phone call as to when they would show up but never received one...and, low and behold! I plan a Saturday of food shopping and doing things that people do on Saturdays when I look outside (on a Saturday) and see that the workers (2 of them) were outside paving the driveway!!!! No call...no knock on the door...no doorbell ringing...Mind you, I DO have a dog that barks at the sound of the wind just about.... My car is IN THE GARAGE....I can't get out to do my Saturday chores because the driveway is being resealed. I run outside in a frenzy to ask the owner's son and the other worker why had they not informed me of their intent to perform this job on this particular day. The son was very, very apologetic and went on the prevaricate that he indeed, DID ring the doorbell when I KNOW he did not. My dog practically answers the door when she hears the doorbell and, besides, I was home and no one set up the appointment. They just showed up and without confirmation began resealing. The son, once again, was very, very, very sorry...Sorry didn't suffice for my car was in the garage and I was unable to attend my personal business. The son volunteered to go food shopping for me....REALLY! Now, the driveway is sealed once again to correct flaws and the flaws are still there. They simply painted over them. My neighbors have come over to inquire about my driveway to which I can only tell them what happened and which company did this. I phoned the owner who, once again, apologized and offered no resolution to this problem. He (the owner) even phoned me after I'd sent an email to ask if I'd "texted" him. I told him that I did send him an email He simply said "ok" and "goodbye". I was told that the driveway would have dried by the next day and would be useable. There are tire marks embedded on the driveway for their timing of when to use the driveway with ample sealed spots was not accurate. Keep in mind that this process of sealing the driveway was done with no paperwork...just a written quote on a business card of the owner. A lesson has been learned here.They simply showed up (with appointment the lst time) and began. Would I use this company again? Do I need to answer that one?

The owner, Ernie, and his crew were marvalous. The arrived with alot of equipment the morning of the work, worked through the day and then made a point of not only cleaning up the work area on our property but they also cleaned up the public road in front of our house. The price was reasonable and Ernie made some excellent recommendations about how to best care for our beautiful new driveway.

This project could not have gone better. Ernie and his staff are excellent. We have a driveway that had not been touched in over 25 years. One section of the driveway that had been torn out and patched 6-7 years ago due to a broken pipe. This area was resurfaced as though there was never a problem. We could not be more pleased.

They did an excellent job and we would definitely use them again. They responded quickly, arrived on time and did an outstanding job on our driveway.
