All Aspects Waterproofing

We had one wall of our basement that was continually wet behind the drywall. The result was mold growing in the space behind the drywall and a moldy odor throughout the basement. These was also some evidence that mold was starting to spread to the furnishings in the basement. The situation was examined by Robert Ellis of All Aspects Waterproofing. He thoroughly explained what was happening and what could be done about it. We contracted for removal of the affected drywall, installation of material on the cinder block that would prevent further water damage, and installation of a french drain and sump pump. We were more than a little worried about the mess that would be caused by excavating in our basement. We were also worried about how long a project of this magnitude would take. The crew arrived as scheduled, took measures to protect the rest of the house from the dust and dirt of excavation, and proceeded to remedy our problem. The work was amazing! They were fast, efficient, and clean. They were in and out in one day and there was no mess left behind for us to deal with. It was probably cleaner that before they got there. They also sprayed the open areas to kill any mold that had started on the furnishings. We have not yet replaced the drywall because we wanted to see how the system performed. It has remained dry for 8 months and we are now confident we can re-drywall with confidence that it will be the last time.

I contacted All Aspects Waterproofing to give an estimate for leaking in my basement. I described my problem and the service manager said right away that what I was describing (ground-level leaking) was not a problem the company provided service for. She suggested a couple alternative contacts to help me solve my house's leak. I appreciate her being forthcoming and allowing for my time (nor her company's ) to be wasted.

This spring we discovered that 2 cracks in our basement were leaking water during rain storms. I contacted a basement waterproofing specialist who was highly rated on Angie?s list. Someone came by a few days later to assess the situation. He was at my house for about 15 minutes tops during which time he looked outside for a bit and in the basement very briefly and basically said that he couldn?t/wouldn?t help me. When I asked if he could possibly refer me to someone who could, he provided information for All Aspects and said that they did epoxy injections, which his company would not do, which could possibly help. I contacted All Aspects that day and explained the situation. Two people, including one of the owners, spent considerable time both inside and outside assessing the cracks. They made numerous suggestions about things that I could try to do to help the situation, and explained how I could do some testing of the issue myself. They also emailed me an estimate for doing considerable work in the basement once I had followed their suggestions. After trying out their suggestions without luck I wrote to All Aspects a few days ago asking for an estimate for doing only the epoxy injections. I am awaiting their reply and will add to this review once we get the estimate and then, hopefully, have the work done.

Our basement had water leaking in through a window because the company that had installed drain tile for a previous owner had not done a quality job. Jeff Basham was early to our appointment for his inspection of the work to be done. Jeff provided a free, comprehensive estimate and a thorough explanation of the work that needed to be done to repair the leak and prevent future leaks. Further, he shared photos of other homes requiring similar work. It was obvious that All Aspects has a great deal of experience in this type of repair. He took time to answer our questions and provided a detailed cost estimate for the work. Jeff?s sales pitch was a thorough explanation of the problem and possible solutions and at no time did we feel pressured to accept a contract. We felt confident that All Aspects was the right company for us and contracted them for the work. The crew arrived on time and worked exceptionally hard to complete the work within the given timeline. Despite having to cut into and partially remove the cement floor there was minimal dust in the basement and first floor of our home. Similar to our experience with Jeff, the team provided a detailed description of the work that would be done before they began and throughout the two-day process. Upon completion, I did a walk through with the contractor who again explained the work that had been done. In addition, he made us aware of other potential areas of concern that we may need to look into down the road. Further, the permits that were required by Fairfax County were all handled through All Aspects. Overall we were extremely pleased with the services All Aspects Waterproofing provided. They accomplished the agreed work on time and on budget, despite a couple unforeseen issues that probably increased their costs to finish the work. In the future we would seek out their services again and we will certainly refer others to them.

Robert provided a wealth of information and recommendations. All Aspects has a holistic view of waterproofing and it was in my opinion a very extensive view. I really appreciate a professional who takes the time to listen to the customer and offer solutions to the issues. The estimate went very well and I look forward to seeing the implementation of my water management solution in a few weeks.

We are building an addition to our home, and towards the end of the project we ran into waterproofing problems: water sipping into a basement storage room. I called All Aspects Waterproofing to come and assess the problem and give us advice on how to address it. They could get someone to come within 2 days, and called me the day before to confirm the appointment. Robert Ellis arrived as scheduled. He was very courteous and professionnal, and explained thoroughly what the problem was, and how to fix it. He readily answered all my questions, and made recommendations. He did not push for sales of any kind, and was just providing an expert advice. I would not hesitate to consult them again in the future if another problem arises.

This company is professional, prompt and good at what they do. They are hardworking and speak both English and Spanish. The crew members commuted between 50 and 70 miles to work on my basement. The work is guaranteed for the lifetime of my house! No matter who owns it! Now that is a guarantee! I would recommend them again and again. What a find

The gentleman with whom I spoke was extremely helpful, kind and informative about all my options and was honest in telling me that I didn't need what I had purchased and that I should request a refund. He definitely inspired a sense of trust such that if I ever do need his services I wouldn't think twice about calling him again.

They did a good job. The work that was provided was presented differently by the salesman than was actually done. It was a bit surprising but they did a good job. It was a big job and so far this year we haven't had any problems.

Crew with Supervisor, Joey arrived on time, performed the work exactly as originally contracted (following assessment visit). There was a question about necessity of moving large, mature shrubs to complete the job. Those shrubs were moved and re-planted and are thriving. The entire problem was corrected and there was no sign that All Aspects had even been there. A masterful job and professional, friendly crew. In particular, Joey was impressive - an asset to the company. I would not hesitate to recommend them and will call them again if there is ever a need. A++

It went very well. The service was very quick. He was not able to do a repair, which we had originally hoped, and we had to have it replaced. It was a little expensive, but I would use them again because I found them trustworthy.

[employee name removed] came to my home to give me an estimate on resolving a drainage problem in my backyard. He gave me details of how his company would perform the work, but then suggested that I could re-direct how rainwater was flowing through my yard myself by attaching downspout extensions. He also suggested that I contact a landscaping company as a cheaper alternative. I really appreciate his honesty and integrity in not trying to sell me on a service that I really didn't need. You don't find many companies that will do that these days. I will be sure to call All Aspects Waterproofing if I ever have a need in the future.

The work was performed and the system has worked properly since it was installed. The crew was polite and performed the work in one and a half days. Unfortunately they could not use use their negative air pressure system because the unit was too big for the crawl space opening. They still managed to keep the spread of dust and dirt to a minimum even though they had to haul out the dirt from the excavation one 5 gallon bucket at a time. When the work was complete they tested the pump by providing electricity with an extension cord. When they installed the gutter drain pipe they were careful to preserve the sod and recover the area with it when they were done. The only surprise was the need to hire an electrician to provide permanent wiring to the sump pump. This cost an additional $100.

Great experience!! I received an excellent education on ways to deal with water runoff and make minor changes that would improve overall drainage. Estimator spent over an hour and answered all my questions thoroughly. No charge for assessment. We determined that the minor fixes would be too small a job for the company. Handyman could do it just as well. Another thing I appreciated was Jeff's honesty. He wasn't trying to over-inflate the needs of the job to generate business.

All Aspects was friendly, professional, punctual, and quickly and accurately determined the problem. In the end the problem was plumbing and not structural, so I did not need to use their services, but I would not hesitate to do so in the future.

Initially, the salesman visited after our call. He checked for moisture, (we had already removed some paneling to investigate). He explained our options for drying out the basement. We selected one of his recommendations after his thorough explanation of various treatment methods. They scheduled the job for about a month later. The crew showed up when scheduled. They removed the remaining wall coverings, dug a trench around the basement walls and installed their system. The job was completed in two and a half days. When they left, the place was neat and clean. We only had to let the new cement dry before moving things back into the space. They arranged for the required inspections and were in attendance for all but the final one.

All Aspects was very responsive and very easy to schedule for a free estimate. Jeff was able to come on short notice, scheduled a window for his visit, and came early after calling to ask if we were ready. When he was here, he did a thorough inspection and gave us a real education on how our basement was built and how the water was getting in. In the end, he explained what it would cost to fix the problem (about $4,000 to $5,000), but he didn't think it would be worth it for us. He explained that the problem most likely resulted from the unusual weather and would occur too rarely to need an expensive fix.. We were really impressed that he would be so committed to the potential customer's interest, even when it meant less money for him. We will definitely think of All Aspects in the future, and everyone in our position should too.

After a careful assessment, he let us know that this kind of seepage was normal not posing any problems since we were not getting water in our basement. We appreciated the honest assessment and would definitely consider them for future work if needed.

On June 17th, 2013, Steve Maney, an inspector with All Aspects Waterproofing performed a home inspection at the addressed listed above. Mr. Robert Dixson was present and allowed access to the home. Steve?s inspection revealed the presence of a water intrusion problem on the front wall. An estimate and explanation as to a proposed solution was then explained. On September 17th, 2014, homeowner Octavia Dixon contacted All Aspects Waterproofing and requested for someone to come back out and give her pricing for outdoor waterproofing solutions. A date of September 18th was set and a second visit was made again by Steve Maney. Upon that visit, there was still an indication of water intrusion along with the down spout on the right side of the home and surface run off issues by the steps. Steve proposed solutions. On February 2, 2015 our company was subsequently contracted to install approximately 21 feet of an interior water management system along the front wall of the home. A plastic curtain and HEPA filter was deployed during the work process. During repair, Mrs. Dixon indicated to our foreman areas where she noticed some mold was present. Our foreman in turn treated said areas with mold biocide. We removed approximately 2-3 feet of drywall as required for the install, and sprayed a mold biocide to the work area. 20 feet of downspout extension on the right front corner of the home was also replaced with a shallow trench of river rock bed laid on the front left edge of the steps leading downgrade. An existing pump was also replaced at the customer?s request. With regards to how long this water problem has been taking place, it is difficult to say. The only thing certain that AAWP can attest to is that a water problem was evident as of June 17th, 2013 during Steve Maney?s initial visit. Project Notes: Installing the system enables the water coming up from the water table to flow freely into the pit whereby preventing the wall cavities from filling up with water. As the basement is below grade, there will always be some form of humidity present. We encourage homeowners to purchase and install a dehumidifier adequate for their size basement. This will not only cut down on humidity but also provide air flow which in turn, aides in the prevention of mold growth. A dehumidifier can be placed atop the sump basin with a discharge hose led into the pit. Warranty: Information can be found on the bottom portion of the signed contract. Details encompass all forms of work performed. We also encourage our customers to review the terms and conditions (back) portion of the contract for clarification as to what services are covered under the warranty.

I had an appointment scheduled for an assessment and estimate on fixing my basement water leak. I left work early for the appointment with a no show or phone call. Follow-up: Once the provider saw my initial 'F' rating, they left voice message on my work and home telephone numbers apologizing for the missed appointment. I then received a written letter in the mail, in which they apologized again and explained that they conducted an internal review to learn how and why that happened. There was a scheduling/email mistake between the office and inspector, which subsequent follow up between them did not occur. The missed appointment wasn't intentional, but merely human error. I appreciate and accept their effort to remediate the error so it will not happen again. I did not have them come out again for an estimate, since I already accepted another provider to fix my basement leak. Although I accept their apology, I upgraded them to a overal 'B' since I still lost wages from taking off of work.

I was very pleased with the response and with how carefully Jeff explained the problem to me. He showed me where there was a crack in the foundation and what would be needed to repair it. I will certainly consider them for the repair and ask them to come out and give me a more exact written estimate when I am ready for the repair. He was very professional, was there at the time I expected him, and answered the questions that I had. I was impressed that the company offered a free estimate.

Everything went great The crew was courtesy, professional, and punctual. I certainly will use them again.

The first interaction started with Toslin (sp?) who received my phone call. She was professional and very pleasant. Said the service manager would contact me with timelines and specifics. I usually dread the part where you explain and there's confusion then the service manager calls back and you have to do it all over again. None of that happen. It was a very pleasant interaction. Kudos. Next, Joey called. BTW, I called 6 companies and All Aspects Waterproofing was somewhere in the middle (for no particular reason) and Joey was the first to call me back. He was professional and patient as I explained my dilemma. He asked some specifics about what was happening, isolated the issue down to the main sump pump needing replacement (Watchdog has main and backup sumps). He gave an estimate of $650 for parts and labor. I asked when he could have someone at my house and he said in 1.5 to 2hrs max. I told him I would call him back. I wanted to close out conversations with a couple of other companies. I wasn't excited about the $650 to replace the main pump - if that's all there is to replace. You get that feeling sometimes; $650 could be a starting point. But I had a time constraint on my end, they called me back first, everyone was professional and courteous and they could me my time line. So, I went with them on gut instinct. Joey and Brian show up 12 noon. They arrived within the time estimate 1.5 to 2 hrs. That meant a lot as no one else could meet the timeline (the ones that told me from the start or eventually called after I confirmed with All Aspects Waterproofing). If this couldn't get done in time, i was going to reschedule a flight. Sad to say, but timelines are infrequently met. But Joey and Brian get kudos on this. At this point I've spoken to Toslin on the phone, Joey on the phone and now in person and just meeting Brian. Each of them professional and pleasant to interact with. What a pleasant surprise. Joey and Brian came in, shook my hand, I led them to the sump and they began investigation how it was operating. They had my comments. They had their assumption of what the problem might be, but they still tested each pump and checked the float valve - and it's positioning. I definitely hadn't consider that. Brian determined that the float value position could be the cause. He relocated it lower in the pit and did more testing. Everything is working as it should. The alarm no longer triggers and the indicator stating the main pump has a failure no longer lights. I appreciate Joey and Brian's integrity. They could have attempted to convince me that the main pump was faulty - $650. But, they didn't do that...just relocated the float value. i can't say enough great things about the experience from start to finish. I recommend them without reservation.

Jamie was prompt, thorough, and professional. He took his time to consider all of the possible causes and solutions of the moisture in my basement and to explain to me what he was looking at and considering. Ultimately he suggested a solution I could try myself for about $100 from Home Depot, he explained how to monitor to see if that solution fixed the problem, and also what the next step would be if that didn't. I felt very comfortable and confident that he was providing me good options for insuring my small problem did not become a large one while at the same time not talking me into an expensive fix I didn't need. (Very different from my experience with another company that provided a quote). I will absolutely be calling Jamie at All Aspects Waterproofing for all of my future problems.
