The crew was fantastic!!!

They did an excellent job of keeping us updated on the project, and it was started and finished as promised. I have two Labrador Retrievers and one of my big concerns was that all construction debris and material was cleaned from the back yard when the job was complete. I was extremely happy when I found the yard in the same condition at the completion of the job as it was when it started. Honestly, from the condition of my yard, you would never have known they were there. I've had some bad experiences with contractors in the past, and to say I was 100% satisfied with Spicer Bros. and how they handled this job would be a gross understatement. I would not hesitate to use them again, and I'd highly recommend them if you need work doen on your home!

Since two layers of shingles were already on the roof, it had to be taken down to the plywood. Bad plywood was replaced (required three sheets) and I was summoned and shown the bad plywood. I was completely satisfied with the final job and clean up. The crew arrived at 7 a.m. and the job and clean up was completed by 4 p.m.

Their work appeared to be fine but i've never gotten them to come back out when I saw something in my ceiling. They've never come back to check for any problems on the roof so i'm not completely satisfied with the job.

The workmen performed their work efficiently, professionally and with the utmost skill. While installing a sliding glass door, an area was found that need to be corrected. In my opinion they performed above and beyond to make sure our new sliding glass door would work properly, and not leak. We also had our porch re-screened along with a new porch door. I love the look of the porch. A new folding attic staircase was also installed, and my husband is very satisfied.

I did a lot of research before hiring them, and they turned out to be very honest and reasonable. They did exactly what they said they would do.

Having read on Angie's List the "A" rating for Spicer Bros. I called the number listed. I was referred to a Lewes,DE, number as I live in DE. No problem. The problem wasn't the nice lady who took my messages (2x) but the fact that no one ever called me. I was told the second time that they were very busy and that it could take a week until someone calls me. It is now 4 weeks. No call. I will search for someone more reliable.

When I called the office, I set up a date and time for the estimator to come out and look at the job. No one showed up on that day. I called the office back and they were apologetic and said they would get "right back to me in the next hour" to let me know what had happened and to re-schedule the date. No one ever called back. I called back again the next day, and again they were apologetic and said that they were "incredibly busy" but that someone named Dave would be calling me to "take care of this." No one ever called back -- ever.

Spicer Bros. was really good. There a little expensive but they were good, yeah. They came out just after I called you. I would want others to know they did good work. The biggest thing for me is they don't like to come back. Because someone else had there roof done down there on States Road and they had a problem and they never did come back. So the fella that came and looked at my roof before Spicer Bros. came he went over and fixed it and he wasn't over there a few minutes and he didn't even charge them or anything but just the fact, you know, the little things they don't like to come back for. That's the only problem that I had. The work, the roofing and all looks like excellent work.

The installation team showed up on time and were ready to work. They did a great job with installation and cleanup. However, the estimator was wrong on his estimate. There were 2 layers on the old roof that had to be removed, additional charge an extra $2000 to remove it. I contacted the company owner, after I received the bill, he told me he would investigate. He got back to me 2 weeks later with a boiler plate response, not what I was hoping for as a resolution to the $2000 up-charge. I was going to have them estimate window replacements for my house, but now I will not. Read the fine print and beware the estimate and contract are only an estimate, even with a signed contract the price increased.

They stuck to their schedule and all work was completed on time. There was a project manager on site available to answer questions, make changes as new problems we discovered, etc. We could not have been happier with the results or the workmanship. With something so important as a roof, quality is the most important factor

Finding fair, dependable, and qualified roofers can be a real challenge, but Spicer Bros. came through with flying colors. They did a superb job--quick, efficient, and with a minimum of mess.

These were great people with which to work. Everyone I spoke to was completely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They called when they promised to and their workers showed up on time and finished the job in an efficient manner. (They also cleaned up after themselves, too!) I will definitely be calling them again for any related necessary repairs. Thank you Spicer Bros!

They were very professional. Did top of the line work and had the job done faster than we had expected. They were very nice and easy to work with. Have had a couple of things we needed rechecked and they came out right away to answer our concerns. I would defiantly recommend Spicer Brothers to anyone looking for a new roof. They gave us the best offer and went above and beyond the call to make us happy. We are very happy with our beautiful new roof.

Spicer Brothers removed the shingles of the old roof down to the plywood and applied new sheathing, trim, flashing, and shingles. The entire process from sales call and estimate, to contracting, selection of materials, and installation was professional and thorough. The roof was completed in 2 days, and the workmanship, clean up, and final appearance were all excellent. I rate the company a 10 out of 10. They also replaced gutter under a separate contract, with the same quality of service.

Spicer Bros tore off all of the shingles, repaired rotten wood, replaced all the drip rails and flashing around the chimney, put some barrier material around all of the edges, peaks and vents...new vent gaskets... and put on architectural shingles to match the house with a 50 year warranty.....whew....for less than Lowes could do it for their cheapest 3 tab shingles. I would recommend this company to ANYONE. I am so confident in the quality of the work!! Oh, they also did the work and cleaned up and were gone by lunch time. Amazing!!! I have replaced roofs and seen many others done, but this was something to watch!! Can I say it again??? Amazing!!! P.S...I am a real customer, not a plant.

Getting a new roof is expensive and not to be gone into lightly so using someone trustworthy, reliable and somewhat in the ballpark cost wise is very important. After looking around and asking around we decided on Spicer Bros for our new roof last year. They were very good, roof looks great, so far no problems, cleaned up very well after themselves, price was in the ballpark of a couple other quotes we got, they are professional and you know they will get the job done.

Two shingles, which were improperly installed by the homebuilder, fell off the roof just before the remnants of a tropical storm came through. In addition, I was aware that the rubber seals on the plumbing vent roof flashings was deteriorating and needed to be fixed or replaced. I called Georgia at Spicer Brothers on a Thursday morning, and explained the urgency of my situation with the coming heavy rains. She worked with their projects manager to send a crew out that day. The repairmen who responded were experienced, and not only fixed the fallen shingles but also identified that surrounding shingles had been nailed improperly. They re-nailed several surrounding shingles and applied adhesive to reinforce the area as best as possible. The crew also installed permaboots over the plumbing vent flashings to prevent leaks. I was very happy with the service and price seemed reasonable, especially since they had to pull a crew off another job to respond to my emergency. I would definitely use them again for repairs and will look to them when it comes time to replace the roof.

We ended up seeking 4 quotes for a small job, Had lost a few shingle due to recent high winds on a 16 yr old roof. One contractor from Berlin, refused to travel 30 mi to quote unless we guaranteed we were going to contract. Two others looked at the roof, took measurements, but one never gave us a quote, and the other was $8000. .One week later, Spicer Bros installed the roof. Brian Spicer, Kevin (field supervisor) and all the crew were extremely professional. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

They do a wonderful job. They are the best, I would give them top rating all the way through. They were great.
