excavators, septic tank
+ 0 moreWorst Job ever! Left trash in our yard, denied busting our fire pit with his equipment. Wouldn't answer any calls. Took 7 months to get him to do the job. Left a bunch of holes I had to pay to fill. Horrible! Please find someone else.

+ -1 moreOverall it was a terrible experience. He never returns calls and when he finally did come back to look at the GFCI issue he did not even come to my door. I am disabled and by the time I was able to get my portable oxygen tank on, etc. to go out to talk to him, he had already left without a word. So here I am on a fixed income and I have to incur the expense of making this a GFCI and hire someone to do it not to mention now I have to figure out a way to get some top soil and get it all graded properly...I don't have this kind of money to spend, especially when this should have been done properly in the beginning. And of course the previous owner has already paid him.
Description of Work: Barry Phippen did the new drain field on the house that I ultimately purchased. He was hired and paid by the daughter of the previous owner. I phoned Mr. Phippen to let him know that he damaged the neighbor's yard. When he finally did come back..."after it settles", he did fix the neighbor's yard and he did smooth my drain field out somewhat but what a HORRIBLE job he did for the final grade. Water flows toward the garage and there are now mini ponds when it rains. He put in clay and did not bring in any kind of a top soil....it is a terrible mess out there now. I phoned him at least 10-15 times to discuss this with him but he did not have the courtesy to phone me back. I even was trying to give him some additional work but he still would not phone me back. I had another contractor working on my property and he noticed that the outlet he has out in the middle of the yard with a little box over it is not GFCI, we checked at the breaker to see if he put it GFCI at the breaker but he did not. The previous owner's daughter finally got through to him and he did come out to take a look but left without fixing the problem. Every trades person that has been to my home comments on what a horrible grading job he did on my drain field. I would NOT hire this person for any reason.
