Did not close off the bathroom when doing job-construction dust over the ENTIRE house first floor and down into the basement. Worker stated he used a drop cloth- I did have one clean square area in a hallway. Shelves are not plumb, installed slanted - I pointed one obvious crooked shelf out and had to get my personal lever to show them how off it was. there are black marks on the surround that do not come off

Description of Work: Complete bathroom renovation. | |The people they sent couldn't have been nicer or more professional. |The bathroom looks lovely. |Our only issue with was they they sure weren't up front about the duration of the job. It was originally scheduled for July.. Was delayed.. Started in August and finished mid October. Nonetheless ..the work did get done and I would get them again.

Sales rep visited our home on 7th January, and my wife and I were excited that we thought we found a contractor on the eastern shore of Maryland that would do a project for us as promised. Following Saturday, we visited the office and showroom and we were able to select our colors, and patterns for the floor, enclosures and vanity tops. Received a call from the project scheduler, we believe at this point his name was Dustin or Justin, could never really get his name straight when ever he called, he wanted us to change the color of the seat top that was to be installed in the master bathroom. Without having the paper work in front of me, to see what were had ordered, I told him that's sounded good, but again, I was just trying to figure out why he was calling to change something were had done with the sales rep. Didn't know at this point this would come back to bite me. Also called on Friday before the start date to tell me that they would be delayed starting because of a snow storm on the eastern shore?? Mar 7th, finally our installers arrived, Jake and Ed, show up to start the project, however we were told that the vanity tops are not ordered yet, (at this point all those alarms go off in my head, and I realized that maybe this was a mistake). Three days later, master bathroom was barely finished, sufficient for us to use a shower, but still had to use a sink in another room. No word yet on the vanity tops, here is were I am having an issue with this whole project. There has been a total breakdown in communication with us, the customer, on when the vanity tops were to be installed. After about 10 days, the vanity tops were installed, however the main bathroom is not finished. This because during the installation, one wall of the enclosure was damaged, and we talked it over with the installer and wanted it replaced, since it appeared to be a crack in the wall. This was supposedly communicated back to the office, again it was either Cole or Justin/Dustin. On April 7th, with much hesitation, I called to speak to the owner of the company, but was told he was not available. At no point in the conversation with the person whom I was speaking too, did I say who I was, but after being convinced to speak to somebody else, this person said "Ok Mr. Seebode, I'll pass your call back". So he knew who I was and what I was calling about. So I was now speaking with Cole, who told me that a installer would be out to our house on the 17th to complete punch list items and that on the 21st the damage enclosure would be replaced. On Friday April 17th, Ed, one of the original installers returned, to finish the punch list items, but all that was done, was install the sink stopper in the master bathroom sink. I showed him the damage enclosure, and he took some pictures of the damage area, and also where the crown molding was cut to install the enclosure, but the crown molding was not capped or finished at the open ends. Monday afternoon, day before the next set of installers where to show up to replace the enclosure, my wife was told that someone was coming out to wipe the vanity backsplashes. At this point I believe that there is a serious communication problems with the office people and with the customer. I decided at this point I needed to speak to the owner, so again, I attempted to call, but after being on hold for 15 minutes, I used their website to try to communicate with the owner. To my surprise, I received an email from him later that night, and said once he talked with the production staff, he would be calling me. Two days passed, and still no call from him. Also in his email, he stated that this was the first he heard of this, but during the issue on when the vanity tops were to be installed, she had spoken to a women who had said she was the owners mother and vice president of the company. Two other installers did show up on the 21st as scheduled, but they did was take pictures again. We are optimistic that the main bathroom will be completed before our children return from their military deployments sometime soon.
Description of Work: Master bathroom replaced shower enclosure, installed new floor, vanity sink/top and new toilet. Main bathroom replaced bath tube/shower enclosure, installed new floor, vanity sink/top and new toilet.

Description of Work: The cost estimate was beyond budget allowance. The technical proposal, product information, and personal contact were excellent. Given the price situation I would recommend this vendor with reservations. The initial proposal was followed immediately by a good-until-midnight reduction. Then later in the evening another good-until-midnight reduction proposal was made suggesting a lot of fat in the initial cost. Additional cost estimates were needed to verify my reaction and subsequent reservations to this vendor.

I asked if they used only their own employees . They lied I asked about prep work they would do before installing the tile- they lied I asked about align ing the tiles to existing tile in the kitchen - they said no problem we use lasers, etc. They did not even use a chalk line. They just started laying tile and when it did not line up , they said " we have been doing this for 17 years and this is how it should look".

Saw this company's advertisment on television. Did some research and found them to be reputable. My initial phone call was responded to quickly with a representative coming to my home packed with all the information I could possibly want. Many options were offered with me making the final choice on everything. On the specified installation date, the installer arrived exactly on time. He did the entire job by himself and to absolute perfection. I was quite impressed with everything, especially that a single individual could do something of this extent to such excellence. There is one issue that people should consider with this company though. That would be the price. I was initially taken back by the contract cost. It was considerably higher than I had expected. After some thought, I decided to go through with the job. Though expensive, it is well worth the cost. The end result is beautiful, fully functional, and easily meets my every expectation. It is very exactly what I have wanted for a long time. As the saying goes, and quot; You get what you pay forand quot;. I certainly did in this case. I highly recommend this company to anyone who is in need of this type of service. They certainly did right by me. I am very pleased with my experience with them.

.Herl's are very professional, I am very pleased with the recommendations that they made and they work with what I wanted to do. Herl's Bath and Tiles are good, but they had order the material from another company and we had to wait for them to bring it. The guy who comes first didn't seem to understand but the work is fantastic although they need some coordination.

Great job. They have a standard price for re-glazing. A salesman came to discuss the shower door, and was straightforward and low pressure. The re-glazing job was done on time and looks great. The shower door was installed the next day (~ 3.5 hours) and also looks great. Herl's is easy to work with and does quality work.

to him further and found a lot of complaints about them completing the job on time, being expensive, etc. I found another company Re-Bath to come and do the work and have since discovered that they will use a polymer which is much better and they are contracted with the major hotels (Mariott, Quality Inn, etc.) to do their bathrooms.....The cost to me is going to be $5,700 and not $8,700.....I would not use Herl's under any circumstances based on my treatment and many others that I have heard about. When the bathroom is complete I will make an assessment on Re-Bath, but so far I am very impressed with them.
Description of Work: I contacted Herl's to remodel my bathroom and they came in at a quote of $8,700 for their acrylic tub to shower conversion. ( I also got a quote from Bathfitter but was not impressed with their system or their pressure to sign for a loan that would have to be paid back whether or not the work was done.) The salesman from Herl's did not leave a contract and I had to ask twice for written contract so then I went to speak to owner he was nice and apologetic and offered to do something a little more custom for the same price than the acrylic and when I looked at the proposed work contract he was going to use the old faucet set up as before. I was dismayed since the original work to be done had included a brand new faucet that I picked out already. When I contacted him he said to put in new faucet it would cost $450.00 (so now the price has gone up to $9,150) and I said I would provide my own he said no he would not install it. I felt like he was taking advantage of me so I decided to check in

How did it go? Absolutely horrible. This company was recommended to us by a friend and also had a good reputation via word of mouth. Maybe something happened to this company recently which has caused it to be the worst experience I have ever had working with a contractor. We were told before the work started that it would take 5-7 days to complete the job - it took 5 weeks! The reason it took 5 weeks was because they didn't show up for days at a time - and also ran out of materials. An experienced tile layer should have known in advance when he was doing the job that there wasn't going to be enough materials...but, no...he waited until he actually ran out before informing his company that additional materials were needed. This resulted in about a week delay. During this delay, we had a chance to scrutinize their work - and found that it was most definitely sub par and there were issues that needed to be addressed. Their "production manager" came out to look at the issues and saw very little wrong with it - either because he didn't want to admit it or he doesn't know what a good tile job should look like. I had to argue with him and point out the issues before he grudgingly agreed to have part of the job redone. I had to request that another worker redo the job as I felt the same person could very well redo the job with the same issues. Was told twice that the owner of the company would come out and look at the job - he never showed AND never called. They finally finished the job - and a quality job it is NOT. They came in and finished it up...using colored caulk to fill in where the grout was not up to par. It does not exactly match and looks horrible. They also were supposed to install 3 grab bars per the contract - only 2 were installed and yet they sent us an invoice with 3 grab bars on it. No one ever came out to verify that the work had been done in accordance with the contract - or they would have known about the grab bars. The whole experience was so horrible and they were so rude that we just couldn't even bring ourselves to call them about the work not being done according to the contract and have to argue with them and suffer through their total lack of customer service. Bottom line: Total lack of customer service and rude to their customers (who are they doing work for????) VERY expensive - not in any way worth the money Shoddy workmanship Management has no clue what their workers are doing in the field - and don't seem to care either Perfect example of how NOT to run a business
