Description of Work: Replaced magnetron of old OTC microwave that is no longer made with the same dimensions and trim, else I would have replaced outright.

Description of Work: Fixed a dryer. I've used Landers several times in the past and I have always been happy. It seems their prices have gone up, but so have everyone else's. Landers once again did the usual good work that I have come to expect from them over the years.

Description of Work: I have used them two or three times for my LG refrigerator. They are prompt and courteous and very good diagnosticians. I am unsure of the date as it has been quite some time since my last repair issue.

That being said, $484.05 to replace a washing machine drain pump seems like a pretty hefty charge. | |I told Landers that the washer went through the fill and first wash cycle but wouldn't drain and stopped at that point. I gave them the model number of the machine and the matching dryer. I told them that it was a front-load, stacked pair and that it would take two men. They only send one man for the first, $99. diagnostic visit. You pay the diagnostic charge, you get the total estimate, and reschedule for the actual repair. | |They warranty their work for 90-days.

Description of Work: Landers Appliance replaced the heater element on our dryer. I submitted a request for service via Angie's List on a weekend day and was surprised to get an e-mail response that same day from Landers. They arrived on a Tuesday and worked with my schedule. The repairmen were professional, and the lead repairman offered a helpful tip about cleaning the lint filter (if you hold up to the light, you can see tiny particles, which apparently build up from dryer sheets, blocking the filter and reducing its efficiency.

Description of Work: We have been using them for well over 10 years. They have worked on our cloths washer and dryer, refrigerator and dishwasher. They have always given very good advice on when to repair or it's time to replace. If you are the kind of homeowner who wants to DIY, they take the time to explain the cause and how it was resolved. Even when the parts for our refrigerator were no longer available, the tech suggested a workaround which bought us six months to shop for a replacement. The last issue they came out for was a dishwasher not emptying all of the water. It turned out that I could have resolved the issue myself, I was just four screws away from finding the pieces of shrimp shells causing the problem.

Description of Work: I contacted this company to repair a Samsung washing machine which was functional but had a very slow leak. This company's employees were punctual and professional. Their policy (stated up front) is to issue a service charge to diagnose the problem and and apply this charge to the cost of repair, if the customer agrees to the estimate. The problem did not seem serious to me, so I decided to set up the appointment. They diagnosed the problem as a leaky seal, and quoted me a repair estimate considerabley more than the cost of a brand new washing machine. I declined their offer and paid for the service estimate. I should mention that the company did give me a $10 discount. My only complaint with the company was that their estimate seemed way out of line, considering I ended up buying a brand new front loading machine (highly rated by Consumer Reports) for less than the company's estimate to fix my machine. It kind of felt to me like they did not want to be bothered to repair the machine, so just quoted a very high repair estimate, and were happy to collect the $90 to diagnose the problem.

Description of Work: Came out to fix our fridge. While the cost of the service call was relatively high just for the diagnosis/trip, the repair was simply and they had the part on hand. The repairman was very professional and we were glad it was not a really expensive repair. Also glad they fixed it on the first trip/try, which was a relief.
