Response from Landers Appliance Inc
Hi Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thanks for using our company to repair your stacked Maytag front load washer. I read the notes in our system and spoke to the technician Danny who was at your house. According to the notes he gave you the option of either cleaning out the drain pump assembly or replacing it with the understanding that if we cleaned it out and it failed again for any reason you would have to pay the labor to either clean it again and/or replace it at that time as well as the cost of the part. We have found over our almost 35 years of being in the repair business that motorized drain pumps, once they are jammed for any reason have a high failure rate. We think it is best for a customer to replace the pump assembly instead of cleaning it out. We can’t guarantee that cleaning out a drain pump will last for any length of time but we can guarantee a new drain pump. Since the labor to clean out the pump is just slightly less than replacing the motorized drain pump, the primary cost difference is the drain pump itself. Since the repair is longer lasting, can be guaranteed and is not that much more money, we always recommend replacement as opposed to cleaning. I trust this makes sense. If you ever have a question feel free to call and ask for me or my service manager Jim. We are here to help in any way possible. I can be reached at 410 682-3232 extension 101 and Jim is extension 105. My e-mail is DLanders@LandersAppliance.com. Have a great day! Dean Landers, President Landers Appliance, Inc.
