Very good experience. Good customer service from the person who answers the phone, the dispatcher and the technician. I would certainly use this company again.
Description of Work: Washing machine would not operate in spin cycle. The Lander's technician was on time, promptly diagnosed the problem and quickly made the repair. The washing machine is still performing well.

It was a pleasure to deal with a company that never tried to sell me any services or products I did not need. When I called them about the replacement racks they made sure to tell me that I could save the delivery charge if we picked them up ourselves. And when we did pick them up the person at the store made sure to tell us just how to put the top rack in. Their magnet is on my fridge and they will be the first place I call if I ever have any other appliance problems.
Description of Work: Our dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean. The serviceman said that there was nothing wrong and that all we needed to do was use the temperature boost. He only charged us $50 for the service call. In addition, we could not get the racks clean. I'd found some replacement racks online for almost $500 but the service person told me to try running the dishwasher with some bleach first, to see if that worked. It didn't so we ended up buying new racks from Landers at $300, considerably less than what I'd found online.

The lid closed sensor came unscrewed/broke and a piece fell behind the drum. I called Landers around 10am and they had someone here by 2:30pm the same day. One of their competitors couldn't have anyone here until the week after next! The price was in line with other quotes. The technician had the part available and repaired the piece. He pointed out another piece that was damaged and was able to replace that as well. Washer is working again and everything was back in place. Thankfully I didn't have to buy a new washer :)

I was a new customer to Landers Appliance, but their service could not have been more prompt, polite, or thorough. From the telephone operator to the actual service technician, Landers Appliance was a pleasure to do business with.
Description of Work: Landers Appliance sent a service technician on a Saturday morning for a malfuntioning refrigerator. The part was under warranty, so I had to have the manufacturer replace that, but the Landers technician was able to get the refrigerator functioning while I waited two days for manufacturer to show up.

Great couple of guys! Arrived promptly after giving me a call to say they were on the way. I had moved this freezer recently from Chicago and it was given to me by a neighbor that hadn't used it in many years. Dave opened the thing up and checked it out and told me the compressor was frozen from sitting for so long. He was honest about the situation and didn't try to sell anything. Gave good advice about looking for another one. Their service call fee is extremely reasonable and well worth it. A lot of people forget that it costs money to run a business and these guys are not working out of a garage somewhere. Compared to Chicago pricing it was a steal! Will definitely call these folks if any other appliance misbehaves and refuses to work.

Our gas oven/range took an extremely long time to reach cooking temperature (over an hour in some cases). When I called Landers, they offered to have a technician come to the house the next day, their costs were slightly higher than other quotes, but they offered the quickest response time. The technician arrived within the appointment window. He diagnosed the problem with the igniter and had the replacement part in the truck. He finished the repair within 30 minuted of arrival. I would definitely use Landers for large appliance repair in the future.

Set up appointment and repairman, Dave arrived on schedule. Spent a bit of time taking apart dryer and was able to convincingly show that the dryer was a goner. Did not try to force a lot of repairs or sell a new dryer. We got a new dryer elsewhere. The dishwasher had a bad gasket and the repairman also identified a broken part that was causing a good deal of noise. He got the dishwasher working temporarily and ordered the part. That was installed about six days later, again on schedule (though the "window" was large). The initial visit was about $120 that I considered a bargain. The second visit was $190 - a bit on the high side. However, I consider the service (and the serviceman) to be of high quality and would recommend using them.

The repairman arrived around the appointment time and immediately began work. It took him about 15 minutes to take apart the dryer and diagnose the problem. He explained the problem to me in detail and told me what the repair cost was: $280. To my surprise, 30 minutes later he finished the repair, cleaned up, and was on his way. He was very polite and professional, so I have no complaints about that. What shocked me was that I was charged $130 labor for a half hour of work (in addition to the $80 charge for coming out and diagnosing the problem and $65 for parts). For the repair it came to an effective labor rate of $260/hour. I called to ask the company about this and found out they are a "book rate" repair company, meaning the charge in dollars (not the hours to charge) comes from a "rate book" (in this case Original Blue Book) and that's what they charge no matter how long it takes. In this case, it was an extreme ripoff. It was a relatively simple repair that ended up cosing me $260/hr for labor. I know that I agreed to the repair, but since I'm not an expert at appliance repair (if I were would have done it myself), I have to put some trust in the repair company not to overcharge me. In my opinion, these "rate books" enable repair companies to charge high fees for repair while not doing anything overtly "shady". In the future I will try to find a reputable company that charges an hourly rate.

Dear Member, Our Mission Statement, in part reads that Landers Appliance intends “to deliver honest, reasonable, and reliable service in everything we do ... we will strive to go out of our way to provide unequaled service delivery with the highest degree of customer satisfaction in mind”. We take that statement seriously. We send out a follow up survey to every single customer asking for their feedback. These surveys come to my desk and I read every single one. I address every one that includes any ranking of “somewhat satisfied” or any comment that even remotely comes across as an unsatisfactory issue. Whenever anyone feels we did not deliver on the promises we have made in our Mission Statement I “strive to offer a humble apology and make appropriate restitution”. I mean it! Our office staff works hard to provide convenient service appointments usually within 24 - 36 hours (except Sundays) of our receiving your call. Our technical staff is trained extensively on all the latest products, we stock their trucks with a large quantity of parts to prevent having to make multiple trips causing any more undue inconvenience to you, and we strive to do everything we said we would do in the time frame we agreed to do it. All of our repairs are guaranteed for 90 days. If anything we repaired has another problem anytime close to the warranty period (120 days?) we will return, re-diagnose the problem, correct it for free if the breakdown had anything to do with the original repair or quote the needed repair as if all the now known problems were known at the time of the original service call. We apply all the previously paid money to that estimate and the customer would only owe the balance. If the customer doesn’t want to make the additional repair we make a full refund of the first repair, only charging the initial service charge. We have been using flat rate pricing the entire 28 years I have been in business. I have found that it is the best way to be able to provide an exact quote on the front end of a repair without ever having any surprises. No one likes surprises when it comes to repairs. Sometimes products come apart with the greatest of ease and often times they don’t. It is next to impossible to know which situation will present itself at the onset of a repair. Job rates allow us to quote the customer in advance. Regardless of any trouble we encounter the repair price quoted is the repair price you will pay. The national job rate guide (the blue book in the appliance industry) that we use has been assembled using repair data from a large collection of service companies. The rates are fair. I’m sorry if we have failed to provide you with the level or quality of service you were expecting. I will call you on Monday to discuss your letter and to resolve your displeasure with my company. Dave really knew his way around a dishwasher. He was very kind and patient. He did not leave until we were totally satisfied. He made sure it came on before he left. He was wonderful. He was very thorough in his explanation. I will use him when ever I have an appliance issue.

Polite and professional. Could have charged us for multiple visits and could have recommended an expensive fix. Explained it all to us and gave us a choice. Highly recommend this company for this type of repair.

Everything was handled in the most professional manner, starting with the initial telephone call to the receptionist and ending with the actual work undertaken by JoJo. Just before JoJo showed up each time, I received telephone calls from the receptionist(s) indicating that he was on his way (and then he showed up shortly thereafter). Both during the service call and the follow-up visit, JoJo was professional and competent and clearly knew what he was doing. He explained things and answered my questions. It all went very well. The price seemed a little high, but I couldn't have asked for better service all the way around.
Description of Work: There were 2 visits: The first one was the service call to diagnose the problem with our dishwasher, and the second visit was the actual repair work (both calls were made by JoJo, one of the technicians). Through the service call, it was discovered that a new control board was needed. The board was obtained in a couple of days, and JoJo came back on the Saturday that immediately followed the service call to accommodate my schedule. He installed the part and also releveled the dishwasher per my request during the service call. The dishwasher has been running like a charm ever since.

The technician was very knowledgeable and knew immediately which piece in the defroster was broken. He was professional and did an excellent job.
Description of Work: The bottom freezer on the refrigerator was frozen and the refrigerator was too warm. The technician adjusted the refrigerator door and replaced a broken piece in the freezer's defroster. He told us to defrose the freezer for 24 hours before using it again.

It was like minimal work but they did a fine job and they were very reasonable. They were kind enough to tell me that the problem that I was having with my oven was that I had put the oven rack in up-side-down and they did not charge me for explaining that to me. It was keeping the door open so the light did not work. They are all A's and they were great.

We've used this company several times and have always been pleased. I have no reference to evaluate price but it seemed reasonable for a simple repair. They were prompt (waiting when I arrived home) and efficient.
Description of Work: Dryer stopped heating. Repairman diagnosed the problem quickly and repaired (had item on truck) provided information about how to avoid the problem recurring and answered some more general appliance questions. Seemed very knowledgeable and was courteous.

They were fine. They could fix the appliance, but it cost me more than the price of the oven, as it's an old oven and it was not worth fixing. So, I declined to have the service done. They were prompt and courteous too. I felt that their estimate was fair, as I did a bit of research online. They had also brought a part with them, as they thought that they can use it to fix the oven, but that wasn't the problem. They didn't charge me for that part, but they did charge me for the visit. They were highly responsive and they did come when they said they were going to come. They were very polite too.

Scheduling the visit was easy --they were able to come the next day. Repairman arrived at the scheduled time and was polite, professional and honest. I was hoping to avoid having to buy a new machine, but appreciated that he didn't try to convince me that a temporary or partial fix was possible.
Description of Work: My washer was getting grease stains on my clothes. The repairman dismantled the agitator and informed me that the cost of the repair (new motor mechanism) would be almost as high as buying a new machine.

Called after first choice was not able to respond. Made and kept their appointment. Appointment was not as soon as desired, so tenants were without dryer longer than I wanted. Gave options before making repair. Required part was on truck so fix was made in one trip.

When you called my company on Wednesday we were able to schedule the appointment for the following day. The price we quoted for the repair, as with all of our repairs, came from the national flat rate price guide, the blue book in our industry. Due to the large inventory we selectively carry on our service vehicles we were able to complete the necessary repairs to the older dryer in your tenant’s house on the first trip, avoiding any inconvenient delays. Unfortunately, after the technician made calls to several suppliers, he determined that my oven was too old and that the parts are not available. But he was prompt and very friendly and the price was as advertised.
