I was able to schedule an appointment that was convenient for me, and though the service man was a bit late getting there, the office called to advise me that he would be. He got right to work, assessed and fixed problem and didn't charge me! (Landers had serviced unit several weeks ago for a different problem). Great company to work with! I will continue to use and recommend to others!

They were prompt professional and our dishwasher is working like new.
Description of Work: Landers arrived to repair our Kitchen Aide dishwasher as he wasn't draining. The pump was broken so they were able to replace it and now it works like new. Plan to use them again for my Kitchen Aide refrigerator as the ice maker isn't working. They are professional, priced fairly and quick to respond to our needs. Highly recommend this company for any appliance repairs.

The repairman tried turning the ice machine off and on, looked at it some more and then informed us that we would need a new one. He quote a price of around $300 (which we couldn't afford at the time). We decided to wait and have it performed at another time; however, once he left the ice machine started working again. The visit did cost us 89.95.
Description of Work: We had a refrigerator that stopped making ice in the ice maker. Also, the water dispenser's handle had broken.

Dear Member, I read over our technician, Robert's diagnosis of your ice maker and am not able to offer a specific reason as to why the unit began to work other than to say that after a technician has had the freezer door open for a prolonged period of time, moved the sensing arm, advanced the mechanism, cycled the unit, or simply removed the standing ice in the mold we have had them work for a short period of time. Ice makers are subjected to a number of external and internal variables that can cause this to happen. I know your dispenser paddle on the outer door is broken causing you to have to open the door to retrieve ice, but our standing policy is if we misdiagnose a customer's appliance problem we will refund the service charge. So if your ice maker is still working after 90 days of our having been to your house, please call me and I will issue you a refund check for the service charge we collected. Landers came out the day I called, got the machine up and running in short order, and tested it with a load of laundry to make sure it operated throughout all cycles. Unfortunately, the initial fix didn't last, and the repairman had to come out a second time (about a week later). The second visit corrected a different problem (a piece inside the machine actually broke off) than the problem that was addressed originally. On both occasions, the repairman was able to come the same day I called. For the second visit, I did have to follow up with the office because of a miscommunication about when he would be available, but essentially, both visits occurred within the expected time frame. Because of the need to have Landers come out twice in about a week's time, I was only charged for the part on the second visit, with no charge for the service call. The machine, which is elderly, works like a charm now!

Came the very day that called (saturday). Service repair guy was professional and helpful. Answered a lot of questions and offered assistance when the time comes to buy new appliance. Repair was expensive and unfortunately the part did not have a long warranty and it may be going again. I've used Lander's in the past and was satisfied each time with the service.

I was not there to interact with the service tech. He called me on the phone after each appliance was looked at and before he did any work. I gave him my cc number over the phone to pay.
Description of Work: I called Landers to look at a washing machine and dishwasher in my rental property. I hired them based on Angies list reviews. I did not know the brands of the appliances when I scheduled the repair, since I was not at the property, so the office associate gave me a range of costs to diagnose each appliance. Because i was getting 2 things looked at, the second appliance diagnosis was discounted 50%. The dishwasher had a blown fuse, and there ended up being nothing wrong with the washing machine. My tenants were mistaken, which cost me $85 for nothing- my own fault for not checking it myself first. I didn't know how to rate their pricing since I haven't hired any other appliance repair companies. The work is guaranteed for 90 days, so that's some comfort.

One thing I suggest to everyone that owns or manages rental property is to include a basic appliance check list in their lease agreement that the tenant has to have performed before a service professional is called. The lease language should state that if no problem is found or a simple repair was needed that would have been corrected had the tenant gone through the list, then the tenant is responsible for the cost of the service. You can go to our web site and down load the appliance check list and use it in your lease. It is a simple list and only contains common sense items for the majority of household appliances. Overall, he provide excellent service. He completely checked out the cooktop, checked the manufacturer for recommendations, and provided a very professional assessment of the work and our options.
Description of Work: Our 9 year old GE cooktop stopped working altogether. We were unable to turn it on. We called Landers Appliances and they sent out their repair man within a day. He took apart the cooktop removing it from the counter cut out. He tested the electrical connections to the cooktop, then checked the power control computer part to find that it was not working. Upon testing it seemed that this part needed to be replaced and could not be repaired. The repair man called GE to find out what to expect if we purchased a new part. They told him that all of the computer parts would have to be replaced at the same time as they were all linked. To do this, the cost would be about $600 which is over 60% of the cost of a new cooktop. The repairman let us know that his company did not carry this cooktop brand but he recommended that due to the age of the cooktop and the cost to repair he would recommend that we purchase a new one. He put all of the parts back in place and left it as it was. Since Landers does not carry GE, we ended up purchasing a new GE cooktop with another appliance dealer.

On Monday my dryer stopped heating up after perfectly drying 2 loads. I called Landers Tuesday morning after finding them on Angie's List. The receptionist told me they could come on Wednesday in the afternoon. I couldn't believe they could come so quickly. The repairmen came (one was training - and he was great), diagnosed my problem (heating element failed), told me the cost, had the part on the truck, repaired it and were out of here in about 25 minutes. I thought it was going to be a lot more time consuming than that. And I was surprised they had the part on the truck. I will definitely use them again, but I hope not for a long time because I don't want any more appliances failing!

I called early in the day to request service, explaining that the temperature in my refrigerator was approx. 50 degrees (I know it should be around 40 degrees). The person (a real person!) said she would fit me into one of the service men's day and they would call enroute. By 5:30 I assumed I had been lost in the shuffle, but no, the service man (George) called at about 7 pm to say he would be at my home in about 15 minutes and he was. George diagnosed the problem as a bad control board and gave me the price. I was quite willing to pay the price! He had the part on the truck and within 45 minutes my refrigerator was back to cooling. YEAH! I was most impressed that George came at such a late time to get my refrig. repairs, but was friendly and nonchalant about the late house. He is a great representative for Landers! I have used Landers before and will certainly use them again and will be purchasing any new appliances I need from people who give such great service!

They were very good. When you called up you get a person not an answering machine and they get somebody over here within like a day or so and he check out the unit, diagnose what was wrong and they had to buy some parts and then they gone get back and install them. So their service and response was excellent. They charged for the initial service 85 $.

The technician quickly ran a simple test on the spin cycle to note that there was electric but no spin action on the tub, he then removed the clothes washer frame to access the tub, motor and clutch...5 simple assessments to note nothing major was amiss. He quickly located a piece of clothing lodged between the tub exterior and tub casement, the reason for the tub not spinning was because the article of clothing was preventing tub rotation. Super fast fix, costly repair to remove an article of lodged clothing, glad it wasn't anything too major. The technician gave great advise on the overall shape and condition of the clothes washer, and dryer as well - piece of mind was worth the cost of his visit. I would so rely on these guys to service other appliances in the home. Great customer service, professional, clean, courteous and honest.

I called on Thursday and George came out the next day. I was told he would arrive between 1 and 5. The office called when he was about 15min out. He arrived around 3pm. I was glad I didn't have to wait all day. He was polite and courteous. He quickly discovered the problem with our dishwasher and fixed it. My husband had taken apart a few screws on the dishwasher and George put it back together and ran it to make sure he properly fixed the problem. He also showed me how to check and fix the problem if it were to happen again. The whole visit was about 15 min. The only complaint I have is the flat $29 labor fee in addition to the $89 diagnosis fee, but I understand they have to charge something. I would definitely use Landers again because they were quick, timely, honest and polite.

This is the second posting in the last week that had a clogged dryer vent. Winter time always sees the highest number of such calls because the hot air leaving the dryer vent condenses as it hits the cold air on the outside of your house. When the air condenses it forms water droplets. The water droplets can capture small amounts of lint that are not trapped by the dryer lint filter. Once there is a small collection of lint it will continue to build. It can seriously restrict the air flow preventing the dryer from functioning properly. If your dryer is taking a long time to dry you should check your external venting for restrictions. Call me or my service manager Jim for instructions or check our web site. I gave a deposit, they ordered the part and returned within a few days. Even though it ended up to be a more time consuming and labor intensive job than previously thought, Landers held to their original estimate. Jo Jo was extremely careful to safeguard my floor when jacking the refrigerator up and then moving it out.
Description of Work: After I loaded my refrigerator's top freezer, the whole unit became wobbly and sat crooked, with the front corner down on the floor. When Jo Jo Seely arrived, he immediately diagnosed a shattered wheel underneath, even though it is a very rare problem.

Landers scheduled the service call quickly, explained the charges for the call. They explained that with gas dryers the problem can sometimes be in the vent, and if that was the case they wouldn't be able to repair. The tech arrived during the window of time allowed. The problem turned out to be that the vent was clogged with lint. I think the person on the phone told me they couldn't correct this situation because the vent isn't always accessible. In our case the vent was accessible from inside the house. The tech took down the vent pipe, cleaned it out and the dryer worked fine. Kind of expensive to have a dryer vent pipe cleaned, but I'm glad he did it! I was very satisfied.

Dear Member, Clogged dryer vents can pose a serious fire hazard. I hope other people will read your post and my response and check and clean their external dryer vents on at least an annual basis. The longer the vent distance, taking into account the number of bends in the venting with the understanding that the more bends in the vent, the more often the vent should be cleaned. The technician was prompt to arrive and set about very focused on the job at hand. He gave me a written disclaimer stating it was very likely my choice of dishwasher detergent but continued to diagnose. Eventually he discovered that the valve which regulated in intake of water to the unit was not functioning so obviously without water...hard to clean dishes. The quote to replace was high but since I had already paid the service call fee I agreed to have them fix it. The quoted turn around for the replacement part was a week or so and they promptly came out and replaced it. I had issue with the dishwasher still and they came out again at no charge and resolved everything.
Description of Work: My 8 year old dishwasher was not cleaning my dishes so I called for an estimate - Note: There is a $75 service call fee.

Dear Member, Thanks for using our company. I reviewed your service history and see we were at your house on Monday, June 20, 2011 to repair your Maytag dishwasher. The fill valve needed for your model was not in stock on our service truck, requiring us to order it from a distributor. We did return on Wednesday June 22nd, two days later to replace the valve. The total charge for the repair, including the $74.95 service charge was $242.00, not $325 as you listed. We returned on Thursday July 7th but found the unit functioning properly, no repairs were needed. Our repair guarantee is for 90 days so this return trip was done for free, even though nothing was wrong with the dishwasher. Today's repair costs are high, there is no doubt about it. Our service technicians are professionals and our no questions asked guarantee is unmatched in the industry. We also have a money back policy when an appliance we've fixed has another problem that would cost more money to repair. We only use factory original parts and repair 80% of all the appliances we service on the very first trip. We normally are able to arrive the same day you call and we offer Saturday hours for our customers convenience (for an additional $20). We really do take seriously every single call and address any and all repeat calls with the utmost attention. If you or anyone ever has a problem with any aspect of my company please call me.
