Description of Work: The roof replacement to this day still leaks. They never responded back to me and they even walked away from the remaining final $500 payment. I made a number of calls but they never came back to fix the problem.In addition to this a few pieces of home siding fell off within months of the project being completed. Also the front roof gutter was not sealed properly at the end so all of the water flows through.

Description of Work: They originally mentioned that they had an excellent rating on Angie's list but unfortunately I didn't check them out in more detail. My wife and I just moved to the area and we are both retired. We contracted with Gem to do a few different projects on our home. They added a front porch and completely sided the house and shingled by roof. After the first rain storm the roof leaked and some of the siding fell off. I only held back $500 however I should have held beck more money. They came back to calk a section of the roof. They were only here for about 20 minutes and it did not fix the problem. They have never come back to address these issues even after my repeated calls. I would never do business with them again and were taken advantage of. I tried to contact them repeatedly however they never responded back.

Description of Work: George was very nice and helpful, but said that it would cost us $500 for an inspection. If the damage to the house (band board) was not worse than what he could see, the repair prior to putting up the deck would be $2000. But it might be worse. The deck would cost $3500-$5000. We didn't want to pay $500 for an inspection when we might not use the company!

+ -1 moreI THINK THAT THE MAIN REASON THAT WE PICKED THEM WAS BASICALLY DUE TO THEIR REASONABLE PRICE AND THEIR EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE WILLING TO DO THE PROJECT ON A CONTRACT THAT ALLOWED US TO SAVE MONEY BY DOING MUCH OF THE FINISHING TOUCHES. THEY WERE EASY TO WORK WITH.
