I meet Tim Munson AES President and a flight to Florida three years ago. He was telling me how our old siding would keep the house cold in the winter and hotter in the summer. When my wife and I were ready to me the changes to the house, siding and roof I called AES Buildier and Home Improvement, Inc. I talked to Mr. Munson and told him who I was and how we meet. Mr. Munson came out to the house himself to look at the job. That is when we signed the contract first to do the siding and later to do the roof. To just let everyone who reads this that Mr Munson is a Christian and love the Lord. This is the main reason that my wife and I wanted this company to do the work.

The story from start to finish was complete dependability, quality, and professionalism. Bill Miner was our company contact. He assisted us with every detail about our project. We felt our needs were addressed and we were educated in the process. Bill helped us think through a variety of strategies to meet our timelines, budget, and goals. We were completely satisfied with our experience and would recommend this company to anyone in need of remodeling. We will us them again in the future. In these times, it is hard to find contracters that are dependable, professional, and provide quality service. AES adheres to high standards.

Roger and his friendly crew came out with their equipment and worked professionally. I could sense an old-fashioned Maine carpenter who knew his craft well. After the first day, (I couldn't see the work because it was dark at night when I got home), I asked my wife and she said it looked good. Now, you have to understand, my wife doesn't just say that, unless she means it. The next day I got home early to see it. How wonderfully surprised I was to see the progress. I sighed a breath of relief. Anytime you have major work done to the house, I go into it with concern. Needless to say, my worries disappeared. These guys were doing a better job than I expected. They replaced the roof in stages, which was appropriate for a winter roof-replacement. The winter-weather can be a real consideration for a job like this. However, they handled it very well. I like that. If I was a roofer, which I'm not, I would have done it that way myself. So, again, a job well done!

The initial estimate was from a "typical" salesman type and the price was THROUGH THE ROOF! I was eventually contacted by Bill Miner and offered a much more reasonable pricing arrangement, and after obtaining a couple of additional estimates, we decided to give the job to AES. Bill took us shopping to assist in selecting the cabinets, granite and hardware. He was always available to take my calls and answer my questions, and if he wasn't, he would always call back promptly. Bill was also very helpful in helping us come up with a design that would optimize space and provide additional storage. However, the person we were most impressed with was Mike Rafferty who completed the job. He was meticulous and did a beautiful job, including re-routing the wiring for the over-the-range microwave, and customizing some of the wood working for the perfect fit and function. He assisted with every purchase needed along the way and patiently took my every call from the Home Depot. Mike was honest and trust worthy, and we felt completely comfortable having him come and go with a key as he completed the job single handedly. We are very happy and pleased with the job and the quality of the cabinets.

When I called for a quote and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day. Our estimator, Bill, showed us samples of the siding and flooring and left us with color samples to choose from. Within 2-3 weeks of hiring AES, we had a date for the floor installation. Our flooring installer, Nick, was great; by himself, he removed our toilet and vanity from the bathroom, had the moldy trim removed and the floor prepared in one day. It took Nick a total of three days to complete the flooring work and re-install the toilet and vanity in the bathroom. Nick was careful and paid very close attention to detail. I am very observant and picky, and Nick got all of the corners of the tiles perfectly aligned. The floor looks amazing, up close and from far away. We had a long wait between the installation of the flooring and the siding. We had to replace our electrical service entrance cable due to missing insulation. Getting this done was a LONG process, and we were happy to begin working with AES again once it was fixed. Throughout this time Mr Munson contacted us regularly to check on the progress of the electrical work. This made me feel comfortable knowing that my account was not lost in the paperwork shuffle. When the siding crew came out they arrived on time and got to work immediately. My house is a medium sized rowhouse and we were siding just the back. We left for work after the crew got started, and were expecting to come home to a partially finished job. To our great surprise, the job was complete, and it looked excellent. Later, in conversations with my neighbors, I was told that the siding crew was polite and friendly to my neighbors. They also cited how well the crew worked together and how rapidly they completed the project. As our siding is insulated, we have noticed a big difference in the temperature in the house, and we love the way the siding and flooring looks. We will certainly be calling AES when future projects come up.

We are very pleased with the way our kitchen turned out. From the shopping expeditions with sales rep Bill Miner to pick out our cabinets, granite, backsplash tile, and flooring to the remodeling process with installer Ben Tanguay and his helpers, it was a very positive experience. Ben had some unexpected headaches come up during the remodel, like wiring that needed to be rerouted, or outdated wiring that needed to be replaced, and so on, but he was able to take care of all these extras and still finish the job within 2 weeks. Everyone was very courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt.

Paul was the foreman and he and the crew did a wonderful job even when they ran into problems with the existing structure having rotten wood. The crew did an excellent job cleaning up when the job was complete. The workmanship was great and the addition looks wonderful. I highly recommend AES for all building jobs. David Hill was our designer/estimator. His view of our project was excellent as he designed the large window view and also listened very carefully to our desires and needs, making sure all were met to our satisfaction. We were further impressed when Mr. Munson, the owner, stopped by before and after the project was complete to ensure our satisfaction with the project.

Foreman Brian O'Dell and his assistant James displayed the highest degree of professionalism and ability. They were always prompt, courteous and indulgent when my grandchildren were present. They listened to and resolved my concerns. As our contract was labor-only, per the welcomed suggestion of efficient sales rep Bill Miner, the labor portion was $5,900 (1 yr same as cash) and materials & incidentals cost $5,000. Bill's advice regarding materials was invaluable and we were able to reap some great bargains as a result. I bought the beautiful shower pan & soap/shampoo niches from Beltway Marble, the tile from Abbey Tile & most of the other materials from Lowes or Home Depot. Overall the experience far surpassed our expectations and I'm already planning to call AES for our next project.

We are currently doing remodeling of a home built in the early 1950's (both inside & out). This report is about some of the outside work done by AES. They just completed installation of new windows throughout the house as well as installed new siding. The workers were polite and obviously knew what they were doing. The final product is beautiful and it looks like a new house. When we first met with the contractor, Bill Miner, he thoroughly explained all the products that were available (different grades of siding, etc). He was also helpful with some ideas on the interior remodeling which AES started just this past week. We love the work so far and cannot wait to see the finished product.

The entire process was completed as told to us from the beginning of our first contact with AES Builders. Each person we had contact with from the office personnel to the actual contractors was precise with their knowledge and expertise. The entire projest was completed with little to no complications.

I was VERY happy w/the work AES did for me in the past. They work around my schedule.They show up when they say they are going to show up. They actually TALKED TO me about my projects instead of AT me and actually listened to my thoughts and recommendations on what I wanted done making suggestions that made the end project look better and more cost efficient. After the earthquake, and then the hurricane that came through my roof on the front and back porch had some damage. My laundry room had water in the walls and needed to be replaced. I called AES and Mr Bill Minor responded out within a couple of days. He inspected the room and the roofs, and upon seeing the back porch was incomplete offered to have the painting and lighting (unrelated to the water/wind damage) done at the same time. He gave me 2 estimates. He worked quickly and accurately and we sat down to discuss amounts. AES was willing to allow me to make payments. Discussing costs I found I found AES' prices to be very reasonable I would be able to afford the pull down stairs (I had wanted the stairs for a long time). I have animals in my home. Some of the work being done involved loud machinery and dust that I did not want my animals to be around. Because of this I requested AES to call before they came to my home so I could make arrangements for my pets. They did so without fail. The one time they were late (through no fault of their own) they called me to let me know they were behind schedule and when they would be there. During the time they were working at the end of the day they stored their tools out of the way and removed any debris from the days work. They were always friendly and polite. At the end of the project they cleaned up after themselves. They were professional. They were courteous. When I had questions on their progress or about their work they explained everything. They started the job when they said they would and finished within the time frame they said they would finish. I most definitely recommend AES to anyone and I will MOST DEFINITELY use them again in the future. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

We had all the windows in our home replaced back in the winter of 2010. Bill was our customer service representative and was great with handling everything before and after the work was done our home. We feel there was an extraordinary attention to detail along the way with a healthy respect for our finanical resources. When it came time to have the actual work done on our home, Steve and his helper did a great job and got it all done in one day! They took their time and stayed late to make sure everything was cleaned up and done right. They left with us feeling the very pleased not only with their efforts, but more importantly, the finished product! Since then, we have noticed a decrease in our energy bills, not to mention how the windows brightens up home, and the neighborhood! We now think of AES every time we consider doing any work done to our home. More to that point, we can confidently say we'll do business with AES builders again in the future.

The process was wonderful, I placed my order with AES and the installation was set up within a few weeks of placing my order. The crews arrived on time and ready to work. It was a pleasure having Steve Monti and his son install our windows and doors. They were neat and clean. I never would have known they were at my house except for the beautiful new windows and doors that were installed. I was impressed with the fact that they worked in a linear fashion. What I mean by that is, they started the job and worked straight through until it was finished. They never disappeared, or worked on other projects while they were working on my house. The roofing crew was also excellent, they arrived on time and they completed the entire project in 1 day. There was no evidence of them being there - not one nail or shingle in my yard. I love AES and will use them again and again. I have already referred them to friends and family who have been just as ecstatic with the work as I am.

The finished product is absolutely beautiful. The workmanship was superb. I will definitely use them for all future renovation needs.

Most recently AES identified and fixed a leak in my kitchen sink that ruined my floor, eroded the sink cabinet and caused the granite countertop to drop about 1/8". This work was done by another contractor 10 years ago. Bill Miner recommended a fantastic Armstrong floor that looks like multicolor natural slate but holds heat, is industrial grade and is easy on my feet. Nick did an excellent job with every detail- rebuilding cabinet, securing sink, fixing plumbing, installing a new faucet, sealing granite and repairing backplash grout, and installing trim. I will only use AES. AES also replaced my deck and built a bedroom under the deck. It is about 5 years old. We get compliments on the work and quality of the materials used. Scott Chattin was the contractor and Scott the builder. They were excellent!!! AES also remodeled my downstairs bathroom by guttting it and adding a shower. This involved digging into the foundation. I have never had a leak and the bathroom is a fabulous guest bath. The only negative is that the smaller jobs took longer than predicted. It was worth the wait because the work is so excellent. They are not the cheapest but they really deliver. Tim Munsen is very involved and visible as the owner of the company. He has come to our house to personally inspect the work. Most of all I can trust the workers. We work and have very busy schedules. I can trust any of their contractors with the key to my house. I would not use any other company!

I was very happy with the way the entire experience. I was initially impressed with the way the office handled my call, and concerns. Within a day, David came to my home to look at my project. He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He handled all of my concerns, and after spending time with him, I really felt comfortable with doing business with AES. I was very impressed with the free 5 year labor warrantee. (I didn't know companies would offer such a guarantee on what they do). I am glad that I chose to hire AES and, I look forward to working with David, and the workers again. He was honest, and worked h****** our behalf. The men doing the work were also very knowledgable, hard working, and made sure to clean up every day.. (My wife was very happy for that). I recommend AES Builders to friends and neighbors, and will definitely hire them again.

Steve Monti, AES' window installer, was prompt, cleaned up after his work every day, which made my home look like he had never been here at all. I was impressed with his good work ethic, great attitude, and respect toward me, my home, and my family. I really appreciated that he was here every day until he finished the job. All that my husband and I have been hearing on WBAL Radio about AES has proven to be true in our experience. The honesty and integrity of the salesman lined up with our expectation also. Thank you AES Builders and Mr. Munson for all of the above.

As we were searching for a contracting company to complete our full bathroom and powder room projects, we were looking for a reputable company. We found that David Hill represents your company well and he took his time helping us finalize our construction plans. He made us feel very comfortable and was the main reason we chose AES as our contracting company. The construction was completed by Roger Robbins, Andy Lange, Wes Wedmore and Kenny of Dynamo Electric and we are very satisfied with the completed project. From the onset, the project was a collaboration of ideas from all parties involved. As the construction progressed, Roger and Andy took time to inform us of what was going to be done and they offered their ideas. The working relationship was an important part of the project and we felt very comfortable asking questions. David, Roger, Andy, Wes and his team, and Kenny and his team were all trustworthy professionals who were a pleasure to work with. We also appreciated Mr. Munson's visits during the completion of the project. We will definitely recommend AES to family and friends.

February 10, 2012 After seeing an ad on television, we contacted AES Home Improvements inquiring about remodeling our bathroom. Contractors had previously burned us, so we proceeded with caution. Our contact at AES was Jeff Harrington. He immediately began putting our fears to rest. He walked us through a process that was unfamiliar and made it very comfortable. He assured us we would be pleased with the work and the results. The work was started as agreed, continued with only one glitch (not the workman?s fault), which was immediately taken care of, and finished when promised. The craftsman for our job was Don Tanguay. Don?s work ethic was impeccable. He kept us apprised daily of his schedule. If there were any changes, he would call. On arrival each day, he worked non-stop with only a brief lunch break. Care was always taken to protect our carpet and home. He needed to store the supplies in our dining room, but he kept them neat and organized. Every day he would clean up before he left. On a couple occasions, it was necessary for Don to be left alone in the house. The quality of his character made us completely comfortable to do this. We are so happy the job was assigned to Don. He is a great worker and a very nice man. Don would even take a few minutes each day to calm our dog before he started. He made the experience easier for her as well. She still didn?t like the noise, but she loved him. We are very pleased with our beautiful bathroom and would recommend AES to others needing home improvements. In fact, we have already. The bidding and design processes were wonderful. Then the work began. We are very sure no permits were obtained even though the electrical was upgraded. What was to take a month took at least 3 months and with it being the only full bathroom in the house it was very tough. The only reason the job took so long was the incompetent workman (yes only one was assigned to do the job) who's work had to be redone by others after we complained. Final job did not include several things we were expecting. It was basically a horror story and we wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I basically think that AES was the wrong company to call for the work we needed - - we had a small list of repairs we needed done. One involved replacing an old plastic shower stall with a new one (it's just a very inexpensive rental apartment so we don't need anything fancy). It appears that they sent out a "salesman" versus an estimator. He tried to up-sell us on everything, and his estimate was about 2.5 times as much as other estimates for a really rather small scope of work. They kept bringing up all these awards they won too. When we expressed shock at the estimate, the salesman admitted that their prices are higher than most, but that is because they "do it right." That may be the case - and perhaps they are better for bigger jobs where you really need high end work. But personally I would not bring them out again for any other estimates b/c we just got the feeling they were up-selling. In response to their comment...the work we needed was not 'handyman' man. Their salesguy was basically full of crap. I've gotten more honesty from snake-oil salesman. There are better contractors out there then these guys...

Prior to contracting with AES, we interviewed other construction companies. We had a list of what we wanted to have done. One big issue was the 4?x 26? addition. We were not sure if county codes would allow us to add on to that side of the house. The other companies (not named because they were not chosen and they may be fine contractors) assumed it would not be approved by the county. AES had their construction engineer assess the feasibility and he checked for county approval, which he had in two days. We had an incredible amount of construction done on our home by AES and we are entirely pleased by the quality of the work they performed. Everyone involved in our renovation was professional, knowledgeable and outstanding craftsmen. David Hill worked closely with us through the planning stages, accompanying us on visits to select construction material, e.g., granite, ceramic tile, cabinets, etc. In some cases he arranged more than one visit to be sure we were completely sure and happy with our selections. The businesses we dealt with were unbelievably helpful and patient. David?s expertise and experience enabled us to make good decisions and we appreciated his recommendations and knowledge. Tim Munson was involved totally in our project. He visited prior to the beginning of work to meet us and introduce the project foreman, Paul Johnson. He also dropped by to check on the construction progress and at the completion of the project. Tim was available and approachable on any matter ? he became a friend. During construction, a bathroom window gave us problems. A window is located in the tub wall and we requested a window that was totally opaque. A frosted window was installed, but we were not satisfied with the resulting shadows seen from the outside in the evening hours. The window was replaced three times before we were satisfied with the results. Any problem we encountered was addressed and solved by either Tim Munson or Paul Johnson immediately. AES lived up to their motto: ?If you are not happy, we?re not done." One other point we must address: we had a lot of work done on our house, and throughout the remodeling project we remained in the house. At the end of the work each day, there was no unnecessary construction mess. It was swept clean and we were able to stay in our home. This saved us a lot of money. Although we had both bathrooms remodeled, AES ensured we always had an operable bathroom. These considerations were greatly appreciated. We are very pleased with the work AES performed and our home is much more modern. We?re sure there are prettier kitchens, but we have never seen one more beautiful than ours. There was not one room in our house that was not transformed or remodeled by AES and we are grateful for the professionalism and efficiency they demonstrated throughout. Our project was never put ?on hold? or delayed for another project. On top of that they have a 5-year warranty on all work performed, which was honored after a year and half when the ceramic floor in the kitchen became loose and they rectified it with no questions. By the way, it was not their work that caused the malfunction of the floor, but the adhesive product turned out to be defective. Incidentally, Maryland requires only a one-year warranty. We were so pleased with the work they performed that we contracted with AES to replace our roof in August 2010. AES performed this task as professionally and efficiently as our other projects. Thanks to AES we have a ?new? house!

Tim Munson and all of his workers are good, christian people who go above and beyond to get the job done properly. We have personally dealt with Tim, Mike Rafferty, Tony Self, Joe Cabral and Dave Hill as well as many others. We have found them all to be wonderful people as well as skilled craftsmen.
