Zippyshell Mobile Self Storage and Moving

I hired Zippy Movers based upon a recommendation from my Realtor. They stated that this company was trying to get their business. I figured that I would try them. Over the phone Maria, the owner, set up the move. I described the amount to move and she took the information to make arrangements. She did not come to the property to assess the move. Now I have moved many times and this appeared odd. I downsized my house by sending off all of the furniture from a 15 room house to auction and kept two beds a a living room suite. Clothes and kitchen accessories were to be moved. My assessment was that one day would do. My housekeeper did all of the packing. The day came and when the movers arrived at noon. they brought a car trailer and a pick up truck. really? I called Maria and she then said to me that the job was very large . I was shocked. I moved major houses in one day. Previous movers moved a whole house in one day: they charged 5500.00 for the entire house, close to what this company charged for 15% of the same cargo. She then begins to address how much more this is going to cost. Remember she never estimated the job in person but sent me one via email. This job was a day job at most. The movers had attitude and complained about all of the stairs. I mean this is the job! My secretary and housekeepers remained on job all day dictating the move. I had to be elsewhere. To cut the story short, They delivered half of the furniture one day and took the full day next to deliver the other half. The movers stated that my housekeeper asked them to leave because she was tired. That did not occur. The move that should have taken 8-10 hrs- Took two days. I feel as though they padded the bill. evidenced by the fact that when I complained they reduced the charges somewhat but not correctly. When the charge came through no reduction was given! It was just a mess. I would never recommend this company
