About us

I've been in the kitchen business for 40 years. I've had my own business (Terry's Kitchen Concepts) for 23 years. I am one of the few who still take pride in my work and am my own worst critic. I'm diversified in many areas including kitchen and bathroom remodeling, handyman work, and finish carpentry. No job is ever too small. What makes me UNIQUE is that I hold the customers hand through the entire process explaining everything as we go along. The customer never has to worry about getting a hold of me because the lines of communication are always open. I give free estimates to customers. As far as trip charges go each job is considered on an individual basis. I charge $75.00 an hour plus materials for handyman work. Kitchens and bathrooms are priced per project not by the hour. I don't have any employees but do have access to master electricians and master plumbers. I only use subcontractors for major electrical and plumbing jobs! I sometimes will have a helper for some of the heavy lifting. Other than that I am an on-hands contractor and do the jobs myself.

Total renovation of kitchens and baths including cabinet installation, minor plumbing (changing faucets, sinks, and toilet replacements), and minor electrical (recessed lights, ceiling fans, outlet and switch upgrades). Kitchen appliance installations and replacements. Counter top replacements. Deck power washing, refinishing and resealing, molding and door trim work (finish carpentry). I can pretty much do anything at all. I'm a perfectionist at everything I do.

Description of Work: Terry came to give me an estimate for my kitchen remodel. He was so thorough and knowledgable. The only reason I did not hire Terry was that he was not available in the time frame I needed him. I was able to see the great quality of his work at the Jack Rosen show room.

Terry Hipkins is a real craftsman of the old school, a warm and friendly individual, dedicated to getting every detail right. Terry was very careful to minimize disruption to our lives, was always punctual, and was easy to reach when we had questions. We would definitely hire Terry to do a future project, small or large.
Description of Work: Terry Hipkins carried out most of the day-to-day work (demolition, cabinetry, plumbing, lighting) for our kitchen renovation, done under contract with Kitchen Planners, Rockville, Maryland.
