The experience with Doug was great. I left a vm and he called me back within 5 minutes and was able to squeeze me right in within the hour. I mentioned what the issues noted were and he gave me a rough estimate of the potential costs. I was a little shocked by those prices but he also said that the toilets might just have to be tightened down and not pulled up and reseated. And wouldn't you know, when he arrived, he said they just needed to be tightened down. And he even charged me just for 2 of them instead of 3. This ended up being a $130 job instead of a $750+ job which it initially sounded like on the phone. I really appreciated Doug's honesty and am very happy with the service he provided. I look forward to using him again!

Rocket Rooter is now on speed dial! The day after moving into our new house, we realized that the toilets were flushing slowly . . . then not at all. After calling Ben Franklin for emergency service--and being told repeatedly that a plumber would be on his way--16 hours later we called Rocket Rooter. At around 5:00 AM Monday morning (and after several trips to the neighborhood gas station to pee) we started researching other emergency plumbers through Angie's list. We connected with Doug at Rocket Rooter. Doug fit us in before his first job of the day and was at our house within 30 minutes! He and his coworker quickly removed the blockage in the main line roof stack vent and restored plumbing service to the house. They were gracious, professional and worth every penny! We will be using them for ALL of our future plumbing needs.

I found the plumber on Angies list and printed the coupon. I called on the morning of the service date to schedule an appointment, and was pleased that they did offer same day service as advertised on their website. I described the service I wanted over the phone. The person I called said they could be there before noon, and I received a call within the hour to say that the plumber was on his way. The plumber and his assistant arrived by 11 am. I showed them what I wanted to be done, and they got right to work. They were finished within a few hours, showed me the work they had completed, and answered my questions. I payed with a credit card and was automatically given the coupon discount on the service fee, because I had let them know I found them on Angies list when I called to make the appointment. I was very satisfied with the service provided, and would happily call them again.

Doug was punctual, professional and got the job done quickly. He told me it would only cost $20 more to replace the garbage disposal than to repair the old one. He had all the parts needed in his truck and was able to replace it within an hour. He was very responsive to my initial request and sent me an email receipt for my records. Will definitely use this company again!

I called out Rocket Rooter to help evaluate a downspout drainage pipe that had previously backed up--we had had someone else out to snake it, but he informed us that there war a break in the pipe. I had tried unsuccessfully to dig up the pipe myself, then decided I needed a professional. Doug, the owner, came out with an assistant. I was ready to pay hundreds of dollars for the camera inspection I figured I'd need to figure out what was going on. Instead, Doug got right to work digging himself. When he couldn't find the pipe either, he attacked it from the daylight end, snaking a garden hose up the pipe, trying to figure out where the two pipes met (it turns out, they don't). He diagnosed the problem, and proposed a creative solution that involved hiring a landscaper (not the sort of job he does). Then, when I asked what I owed him, he said I owed him nothing. (This may in part have been to make up for a previous missed appointment from when he was out of town, but either way, it saved me a lot of money!) There is no doubt that Rocket Rooter my business in the future!

Based upon the reviews, I scheduled an appointment and sent photos of what needed to be repaired. I called and reconfirmed 48 hours in advance. The window for service was 9-11am. At 11am, with no plumber, I called and left a voicemail. I continued to call to see where the plumber was and then the voice mail mailbox was full. It is 1pm and still no call from the plumber of why he did not show.

They arrived on time and performed the work in a quality fashion, and they left the work area pristine.

Rocket Rooter plumbers carried their heavy equipment down into my basement and cleared two sewer lines from my house out towards the street where the lines join DC Water and Sewer main lines.

We were dealing with a badly clogged kitchen sink on Christmas. My husband snaked it and used a drain cleaner without apparent success. So, the next morning I called to get it sorted out. Rocket Rooter answered the phone promptly, and was here in under 2 hours from the call. Embarrassingly, the sink was by then working perfectly. The worker checked it thoroughly, and took the time to fill/drain the sink twice, ensuring that it was draining properly. He was pleasant and professional throughout. I would use them again without hesitation (well, maybe I would hesitate enough to check the drain myself, first...)

I called Rocket Rooter because there was a leak in the pipe under my bathroom sink. We had used this company a few months ago for another problem, and we were pleased with their service. John arrived promptly and saw what the problem was right away. He had the part in his truck and was able to replace the faulty part immediately. He was both courteous and professional.

We have used Rocket Rooter for many years. Pricing always seemed fair and the service provided was good. The plumber was always punctual. We had a basement backup that required snaking the pipe to the street. The plumber advised the bill would be $760, and that was a discounted price for being a good customer. This was quite a shock because in the past they charged around $360 to snake that drain. The plumber said he was not able to reach the street, which has never been a problem in the past. The line backed up again and they took care of it at no charge. After he had packed up his gear the plumber suggested snaking a camera through the pipe. Running it at that time would have incurred another charge for setting up to snake, since everything was packed up, so I declined. When the pipe backed up again the plumber charged full price again, plus around $300 to snake a camera through the pipe. He was not able to get very far with the camera. He showed me what appeared to be a kink in the pipe that he said was a break, which prevented the camera from getting through. Eventually Mr. Belcher, the owner, quoted well over $9,000 to dig up the yard and replace the entire length of pipe. Initially he said he would give credit for what I had paid but later he offered a partial discount part of one of the two visits. I contacted another plumber, who pushed a camera through to the street. He showed me a large number of tree roots blocking the pipe. Within fifteen minutes he had located the pipe at the street. I asked about the break in the pipe and he said he did not see one. His camera and video screen were much more modern than what Rocket Rooter had. His firm price for replacing the pipe was $6,300. He dug in two locations and then "burst" the failed pipe pulling the new pipe through it. He did not have to dig up the sidewalk or destroy the entire front yard. The part of the pipe that Rocket Rooter identified as a break was a badly made joint, and not really that bad, which had been in place since the house was built. I was very disappointed with Rocket Rooter this time. They charged more than twice what I was accustomed to paying, they were difficult to deal with when it came to the quote for the pipe replacement, and their quoted price was much higher than I ultimately paid another plumber.

I was having siding installed and the installers accidentally punctured a pipe. I called Rocket Rooter on a Sunday, and they were about the only company that answered. They agreed to come out the next day. They were on time and made the repair pretty quickly.

We had called a few plumbers after hours after our main water valve was leaking, and they all were going to charge us over $100 just to come out and diagnose the problem. But when we called Rocket Rooter, they suggested an easy remedy that we could do ourselves and it worked! Their professionalism and pleasantness was very much appreciated and we would highly recommend that anyone call them before spending hundreds of dollars! We will definitely be calling Rocket Rooter first next time we encounter any plumbing problem, and we recommend you do the same.

I called a few plumbing companies on Angieslist when my toilet was making a very loud heavy breathing sound that kept me awake Friday night, and only Rocket Rooter answered the phone and agreed to come that Saturday. I would not have slept another night if the Rocket Rooter plumber had not come. He explained that a shift caused the noise and that the toilet needed a new flapper and fill valve, so I asked him to install those on both toilets. He actually dropped one of the labor charges, but the cost of $254 really surprised me because this was the first time I had paid someone to upgrade those pieces because I now have a shelf directly over the toilet and therefore cannot do it myself.

Everything went fine. Our sink was stopped up and we first though it was the garbage disposal. It ended up it was our sink.

Showed up on time. Replaced the burst pipe that leads to my outdoor hose. Checked on the 2nd outdoor pipe to make sure it didn't have any leaks as well. 2 months later we don't have any leaks.

Everything was great and went very smoothly. Our new faucet doesn't leak like the old one and it's great to have an inside shutoff valve so we can turn it off during the winter. Doug also stopped by and looked at some other issues we were having (sinks not draining well, back to back toilets and water draining from the bowls) and was able to answer all my questions and fix the drainage issue without charging anything extra. He also explained what to look for to know when our water heater needs to be replaced, and he detailed the differences between regular and tankless ones. Fantastic service overall!

Everything was fine but the price - $300 for an hour's work with an electrically driven snake.

The job went smoothly. It required removal of a metal support beam in the basement to open a hole in the floor through which to insert the liner. A man came back in about 10 days to re-smooth the concrete patch so the beam would sit level and the patch would be less noticeable.
