Description of Work: We were fortunate to be referred to McIntyre Home Improvements (MHI) when we needed a contractor to do a multitude of projects in our home, as well as, our daughter’s newly purchased condominium. Mr.Thomas McIntyre, owner and president, proved to be responsive, hardworking, skilled and readily available for consultation on all jobs his company performed. We were particularly impressed that he was always on site to ensure that any work was done to a high standard. This held true for large and small jobs alike. Mr. McIntyre presents himself well, provides timely estimates and fully details the work to be done in an item by item contract. Most important to our family, he proved himself to be courteous, trustworthy and a family oriented man of excellent character. I did not hesitate to leave him and his crew to work in our home when we needed to be elsewhere. Lastly, he seems to only hire persons of similar character that he has known over time and who possess superior skills in their area of expertise. Referral Source McIntyre Home Improvements built a doorway portico in a home quite near to ours. We observed his careful construction, excellent product and the resounding endorsement of our neighbor. Tasks performed for our family • Installation of wood flooring and recessed lights in our daughter’s condo. Mr. McIntyre provided guidance in selecting a floor. Fully explained options and his floor team installed a high quality engineered floor with perfection and at 40% less than other estimates. Again Mr. McIntyre was on site to oversee the installation. The recessed lighting installed throughout the condo was such a great value and make the rooms much nicer. • Reconstruction of kitchen cabinet to allow for appliance installation Cabinet rebuilt solely by Mr. McIntyre. The cabinet appeared factory installed and appliance fit without a hitch. • Installation of granite and a backsplash in our kitchen. This work was done quickly after request and approval of estimate. As usual the work was done to perfection. Mr. McIntyre and his chief assistant were skilled in tile setting and worked well collaboratively to complete the job within a short time frame. Mr. McIntyre is, apparently, flexible as I changed part of the design during installation. The change was made without discord at a reasonable charge for additional materials and service. • Repaired drywall and painted large recreation room. Outcome excellent and reinforced that MHI will do small, as well as large, projects. • Exterior Trim and Roofing Repairs. Replaced rotten exterior trim around the house with PVC trim boards that will never rot and replaced 4 roof vent collars that were deteriorated and leaking as well as making repairs to tears in our flat roof area. • Many Handyman type services provided. Toilet repair kits installed, re-grouting and caulking of shower, ceiling fan removed and properly re-installed, telephone and cable outlet added/moved. Without hesitation, McIntyre Home Improvements would be first on our list if we needed additional work in our home. After employing MHI to do a variety of projects, I don’t think I would have additional estimates before contracting again with MHI as their rates are reasonable and previous estimates were higher and took much longer for the other contractors to prepare. We have referred this company to numerous friends who are now embarking on projects with MHI.

Description of Work: Tom McIntyre and his crew rebuilt my sinking sunroom. The sunroom was surrounded by rotting wood and would have sunk into my basement had Tom not fixed the problem. I had called in about 6 contractors before Tom. Each one scratched their head and walked away-- no one knew how to solve the problem. Thankfully, I heard about Tom. He came in and knew exactly what needed to be done. He was then able to to replace the rotting areas and did so in a way to avoid future problems. Since then, I have given Tom's name out to several to neighbors, friends and clients. And as an interior designer, I'm very careful about who I recommend to my clients. Tom McIntyre is on top of my list.
