We have been using them for 25 years and I wouldn’t call anybody else. They are honest, they do a good job, and they guarantee their work. I trust them implicitly and I believe whatever they tell me. They are not cheap, but their price is competitive.

Despite issues that were not their fault (turned out crack in drain below tub) and items behind walls were different than anticipated, they were wonderful and flexible. They were always available with a day needed while coordinating with other vendors. The guy they recommended for tiling and flooring was excellent. The quality of their work was fantastic. When the crack was found, they provided reasonable pricing to address and got it handled so it didn't affect completion date.

While other providers were quoting 100% - 150% higher, Leahy's came out and snaked my line 1-2-3 for a price that was extremely reasonable for this small job.

They were quick and did a great job. They explained everything to me really well and it cost much less than I thought it would.

This is the first time I've used Leahy Plumbing. Lisa was wonderful to work with. They were able to schedule a same-day appointment which was important since we had a leak. Lisa called me to let me know when the technician would arrive, just as she had promised.

I have relied on them for many years and they have been reliable and reasonable for repairs. They are now working with me on a bathroom renovation and I'm sure they'll do it right.

They were thorough and honest. Our house has an old plumbing system, but they didn't try to sell expensive fixes. The appointment was easy to make, and they fixed both problems within a few hours.

I thought the appointment would have gone well because it started on the right foot before they got there. They rang me up prior to the appointment to make sure I was there, then they ran again as they arrived. However, the minute they set foot in the house, I should have known something was not going to go well. They were both rather surly and one of them was sucking on a lollipop at the time while he was looking through the house. After determining the issue and my authorizing it, they got to work. They took their time moving from the truck to the house and about 5-10 minutes after getting started, the one with the lollipop informed me that as he was installing the flush valve, he simply brushed up against the tube of the flush valve assembly, and it broke off. I was very surprised, particularly as this piece is made of copper. I gave him the benefit of the doubt though, as it was an old toilet and I asked him what needed to be done. He told me that the whole flush valve assembly needed to be replaced, or I needed to buy a whole new toilet and they would install it. The cost? He quoted me $250 for parts and labor on the flush valve assembly and $475 to install a new toilet, parts and labor included. I told him I was going to call my husband. Meanwhile, as I was speaking with my husband, the other guy finished the work on the sink drain. He replaced the stopper as well as the piece underneath the sink so that it sat at a proper height. My husband commented that $250 for a simple flush valve assembly replacement was ridiculous. We told the plumber we would not be paying for that. So, in the end, we were only charged for the sink drain replacement. Total cost? $204. How was this estimate broken down? $134/45 min for labor and $70 for a stopper and a piece of tubing. In the end, I ended up fixing the entire flush valve assembly myself, going back and forth to Strosnyders. Total cost for parts and gas? $40. They also had the gall to tell me they could install a new toilet for $475. A new toilet installation is even simpler than the flush valve assembly since it's a drop-in job. A new American Standard Toilet - the simple brand they were going to use - at home depot is about $188. Their mark-up on parts and labor is absolutely ridiculous. I will never use Leahy again.

Mr. Leary himself answered my call. On the phone he helped me troubleshoot the problem, giving me instructions on what to try and said he would wait by the phone to hear the results. He helped me confirm a broken pipe issue and within 10 minutes had arranged for a technician to come (arrived 45 minutes later). His technician was excellent, professional, knowledgeable and very neat in his work. With five houseguests for the weekend I was very appreciative of Mr. Leahy's work and help. He even recommended a drywall contractor who came later that week and repaired and painted the damaged areas.

He was very good and helpful. I used Leahy previously to install 3 new toilets. Cost was $500. Those guys were very clean and did an excellent job. I like Leahy Plumbing alot.

The service delivered was very good. They quickly found the leak and soldered the piping, as well as gave us some tips for our old copper piping. The bill was reasonable. We called early in the morning, but had a funeral to attend that morning. We coordinated with Mr. Leahy when we were finished at the service and he sent someone over, who waited for us to get home. I really appreciated them waiting. We had called the day before when the leak first was detected, but when we did not hear back that day with any type of possible arrival time. My husband placed a call the next morning. At this time, we found them to be very responsive and overall a very good experience with them.

Originally for garbage disposal repair and a second time for toilet repair. Prompt and courteous service. Price was I assume standard. They are a family run business with trucks in the neighborhood all the time so I will use them from now on for all plumbing needs.

First of all, the phone is answered by the owner of the company, John Leahy. Very pleasant and professional. My water heater broke down, leaking water all over my basement. I needed it replaced in a hurry. I contacted 3 plumbing and heating companies, all from Angie's list. One provided the estimate based on photos I provided, the other said they would charge me $69 to provide an estimate. Neither of them could do the work today. John Leahy said that his company would send someone over to provide a no-cost estimate, and that they could do it today. Their estimate was lower than the email estimate that I had received. The Leahy employees were very courteous and efficient, and replaced the water heater in short order. I would certainly recommend Leahy to anyone that needs a no-hassle replacement of their water heater.

In all aspects, Leahy did an outstanding job. John Leahy walked me through the details of the job in advance, taking the time to answer all my questions. Craig, who handled the mini-excavator on site, was a true gentleman and kept me informed about everything he was doing. He also kept safety top of mind (very important since we have a 5 yr old and an 8 yr old). Crew leader Charles was also an excellent communicator and ensured the other three on the job remained at the top of their game. Inside the house, Mark relocated the water meter and replaced all surrounding piping. Mark was very considerate of our family's needs, ensuring that our water was shut off for a minimum amount of time. Every person on the job was terrific, and it was obvious that they worked as a well orchestrated unit. In the 3.5 days the crew was on the job, Mike Leahy (brother of John Leahy) visited and inspected the site three or four times, communicating with me to ensure my satisfaction each time. Leahy was recommended to me by a neighbor, and I'm certain I will be recommending them to many more neighbors.

Leahy Plumbing truly saved the day! I live in a town-house/condo complex where the water heater is in a very tight crawl space in the kitchen, behind the refrigerator. It was difficult just to get to it, and then there was the challenge of a broken knob on the in-unit master water valve. We had to wait and notify the community in advance to shut-off all the water that supplied the other units. This was just the beginning. Four days and four different plumbers later ... we finally got the job done, and it was John Leahy's Plumbing crew to the rescue!!! Here's how ... A and quot;big boxand quot; store's installer team couldn't make it work with the delayed schedule, and another local plumber thought it was too involved for him. The HOA Commercial plumber stepped in to at least get the master water valve replaced. Someone recommended checking with Leahy Plumbing, and a quick Angie's List search had him in the top tier. We definitely needed A-Team reinforcements. I called John Leahy in a panic, and he said he'd be over first thing in the morning. I only needed to talk to him for a few minutes to know, finally, I would be in good hands. Immediately, however, the challenges continued when it came time to remove the old unit. The only way to get it out of a small galley kitchen was to take the refrigerator out first, which was easier said than done to clear a path. The Leahy Plumbing team of Mark and Anthony had to take the refrigerator doors off to remove it out of the way, into the living room, to swap the tanks out of an impossibly small space. Adding insult to several days of injury, when they went to take the new water heater out of the box, which was delivered by the big box installers; they realized it was damaged. John Leahy sent one of his guys to his supplier and delivered another new water heater within the hour. Shortly thereafter, our hot water cup runneth over, thanks to their tireless work throughout the day. I wish John Leahy's team could fix everything in my life ;) Extremely grateful in North Bethesda! Leahy plumbing was very responsive, timely and professional. We have used them numerous times for work on our 1970's home. Mark and Anthony were on site and did a great job installing my new cabinetry and faucet and toilet to a bathroom that I renovated. Mr. Leahy was very responsive in getting the work scheduled. He also recommended a tile guy for me when I thought I might need a pros advice on some work I was doing - Edgar was fantastic and gave me some good advice. They gave me an itemized invoice and their labor costs were on target with anticipated costs. Highly recommend.

We have used Leahy Plumbing for at least 20 years. This is the second water heater they have installed for us--the first one lasted 16+ years. This is a great company. They've repaired the whole range of plumbing problems a house experiences over many years, from pin hole leaks to clogged drains, and high ticket items, like water heaters. Usually, John Leahy, himself, answers the phone and talks with you about whatever the issue is. He's straightforward and honest about your options. No games, no hard sells. He gives you the options, then you choose. His workers will do the job right the first time. The price quoted is the price charged. Honest, fair, competent. I don't know if they're the cheapest, but the old adage about getting what you pay for has proven true for us. We've tried other companies when Leahy wasn't available--huge mistake. For peace of mind, there's no other plumber for us.

Kevin came out for two separate trips. The first leak was due to a toilet that wasn't secured to the floor. The second leak, which wasn't apparent during the first visit, was inside the bathroom wall. Both trips, Kevin was thorough and professional, and hustled. Would gladly use them for emergency service again.

It went really well. They worked around an unexpected hospital stay of a few days for me. Plastic runners were placed on carpet and stairs as the shower was in master bedroom upstairs and the powder room was on lower level. The clean up for everything was exceptional. The installers were very competent, conscientious and very polite. The Tile workers did a beautiful job on a 40 year old five sided shower stall. The Company does not re-install the shower door but holes were re-drilled to fit the original door so my daughter and I could reinstall the door. All the finishing was well done. The Powder room toilet was the original and it required time and difficult removal. Everything is working wonderfully. The owner Mr. John Leahy runs his business like one large family and goes out of his way to please and satisfy his customers.

They come out quickly and fix the problems. Their prices are normal as everybody else.

Excellent service at a very reasonable price. Sam and Kenny have been at our home before and have consistently done a great job. They are professional,fast workers who diagnose the problem and repair it quickly. Over the years, Leahy plumbing has served us very well. I would recommend them highly without reservation.

For the first repair they replaced the disposal and it didn't work because of an electrical problem The plumber offered to come back on his own time for $100. The disposal lasted 6 hears, the perfectly good one they replaced had lasted 17 years. The second repair there was a leak and the plumber installed a handle on the spigot after talking to the owner. It was an unecessary repair.

I called on a Sunday with a major hot water heater leak. Mike Leahy was at my home the next morning. It was a special water heater, also supplying the hot water for radiant heat in part of the house One had to be tracked down and it took a few weeks. Leahy plumbing was great in their responsiveness, and scheduling. There was also more involved than originally anticipated, since the gas supply had to be turned off and then everything that ran on gas checked once it was turned back on. Everything was in working order when I returned home that evening.
