It went excellently! First of all, owner Chuck (Inex owner) worked closely with us on our needs and pricing. He was full of ideas on keeping the costs in line and never attempted to upsell or pressure us. He provided detailed, patient explanations of everything we would need and that Inex would do for us. He also worked with us to line up sub-contractors such as a plumber and an electrician. Chuck advised us of some things we might expect once the demolition stripped our bathroom down to the studs that could complicate their job. The man knows what he is talking about. The work was performed by craftsman Dermot McDermott. He did the demolition, and then worked with the problems he found beneath; such as non-leveled walls and a lack of flooring--which the original builders blessed us with. Dermot did an excellent job of putting in the tub, and retiling both the walls and the floors. He is a master craftsman, lining up the lines of the floor tiles with those of the wall tiles; and dealing with uneven/slanted walls. Dermot was very tidy; always cleaning up at the end of the day so that we had our house back for the evening. The finished bathroom looks fabulous thanks to Chuck and Dermot. We are so pleased that we signed a second contract for them to work on the master bathroom. After that, they will help us with the kitchen. As a side note, Inex has already helped us with the kitchen. We had Counter Intelligence come in to replace the counters and backspash. Inex helped with the removal of the backsplash (at a fraction of the price the other organization quoted) and put in drywall for us. They jumped in and helped when we needed it the most. As I stated before; they are great! We got Inex's name from this list. So, this experience has made us big Angie's List fans.
Description of Work: Totally gutted a hallway bathroom, then put in tub, sink, and toilet. Retiled tub walls and floor. Arranged for plumbing and electric work.

*We are very happy with our finished kitchen,* but the process was very difficult. The problems we brought to Chuck's or Oswaldo's attention were eventually fixed to our satisfaction, but often with a negative attitude. They did seem apologetic at the end of the project. We tried to be good clients for INEX, even going to Chipotle to get them lunch when we were at home. We provided written and verbal instructions and were available to run out in the middle of the day and get supplies if we were missing something. I speak Spanish and was able to communicate with Oswaldo in both Spanish and English. Our project was challenging for INEX because we ordered non-IKEA cabinets (INEX is used to working with IKEA only) and had some problems. Our cabinet doors arrived cracked twice and had to be re-ordered, extending the timeline. We did much of the post-project cleanup ourselves during the wait for the new doors because the rest of the job was finished already and the wait was several weeks. We have a toddler and were concerned about the bits of wood and metal lying around. The positives: The plumber INEX recommended was EXCELLENT. We will use him again. Counter Intelligence was also very good. The pass-through to our dining room is GREAT. Chuck suggested we modify our original plan so it would match other doorways in the house, and he was absolutely right. INEX repaired more of our bathroom ceiling than what they had cut out for the plumbing as a courtesy. INEX had a great idea for mold prevention under the sink. They put ceramic tile inside the sink cabinet. However, this issue came up because they re-used an old part in connecting the sink and the sink cabinet filled with water and became moldy before the project was finished. The challenges: Throughout the project the attention to detail by INEX was just not good enough. Almost everything (flooring, paint, tile, sink connection) had to be done twice. Examples follow. In the process of installing the cabinets, screws went through the wall and into the closet of the adjacent bathroom. When we contacted Chuck (the owner), about this issue he initially did not believe us. When Oswaldo saw the damage he cut off the screws and patched the wall. He offered to paint that section of wall a different color than the rest of the closet, but would not paint the whole linen closet. We asked him to leave it alone. No money was deducted from the price of the job for this or any other problem. We had been instructed by Chuck to choose "any flooring with a floating installation" for our kitchen. We chose a pre-finished hardwood composite from Home Depot, but our choice did not match what the team was accustomed to working with. Oswaldo did not tell us he was unhappy with our choice until after the whole floor had been installed and could not be returned. Had we been told up front, we would have been open to selecting different flooring. Instead, Oswaldo got so angry/frustrated with the installation of the flooring I had chosen that he stood face to face with me and yelled that we had chosen the worst flooring he had ever used. It turned out that the flooring required a bead of glue in the click-lock joint between each pair of boards. He had not read the instructions and did not glue the floor. It had to be taken out and redone, and we had to purchase materials for the redo. Chuck offered to pay for the purchase of a new floor, but not for more of the same floor. We searched for other flooring but could not find a hardwood that matched the colors of the already remodeled kitchen. We bought more of the same floor and had INEX do the installation correctly. We are happy with it. Oswaldo insisted on putting the refrigerator (which we had relocated to our living room for the duration of the project) back in the kitchen before painting behind it. The floor (which does scratch easily) was then gouged by INEX when they pulled out the refrigerator to paint. That portion of the floor was replaced 3 times because of pulling the refrigerator in and out. Leaving the refrigerator in the living room until the end (which we suggested) would have prevented this. INEX chose to put tile on a wall we had asked them not to tile. They had confirmed with me several times on the tiling day that I did not want that wall tiled. When I arrived home after work, they were tiling that wall and said "see what we did for you? doesn't it look better?" I did not agree and had them remove the tile. They painted over the mastic residue without sanding and had to be asked to sand and paint again. The second time they did not prime the wall and the paint peeled. The 3rd time turned out well. The roll-out trays in our pantry were installed crooked (by INEX) and did not roll correctly. INEX said it could not be fixed because there were not additional pre-drilled holes in the cabinets. We unscrewed the roll-out tracks and screwed them back in ourselves and they work great. Shoe molding was fitted incorrectly around a corner and was left sticking out at a 45 degree angle rather than being cut again to fit. This was fixed after we requested it specifically. INEX called at 8pm one evening to let us know that they would be painting the next day, earlier than planned. I had not yet purchased paint and was out paint shopping until 11pm. They did not come that week to paint and did not call. Over all, our kitchen is beautiful. It just isn't worth the headache to us to use this company again.
Description of Work: INEX did a complete kitchen remodel including removing a portion of a wall to create a pass-through. The price above was for INEX's labor, as INEX requires that you purchase your own materials and pay plumber and electrician separately.

This project was difficult for us also, the floor was scratched by the Electrician when he removed the refrigerator to install a outlet behind the refrigerator. The floor is very fragile and just prone to scratching. Home Depot recommended this floor and yes we are Pro floating floors but we had no idea of the durability of this product. As far as the leak under the sink, it was not a USED water supply line but a new line that had a faulty factory crimp where the fastener is attached. We did make mistakes and corrected to customer satisfaction. Bottom line I sincerely appreciate this review and will share with Oswaldo and my other team members to make changes as needed to our operation. Yes we are not perfect but do stand behind whatever we do.

Work was fair - punctuality was an issue for a majority of the work. Some quality items as well that were later addressed and fixed. Not sure if the person performing the work really cared if they were doing a good job or not.

Since I just purchased my first home, I was anxiety-ridden from a negative experience with a bathroom remodeling firm before contacting INEX. But, working with INEX was easy. They arrived on time, often early, and completed the work as promised. Julio was meticulous, punctual, and worked diligently every day, often staying until 6pm to ensure the bathroom would be done on time. Oswaldo, the project manager, would brainstorm ways to fix and potential issues before they surfaced. He was prompt and always returned my phone calls if we missed each other.
Description of Work: Inex gutted and remodeled my circa 1950s bathroom. Walls, tub, floor, sink, toilet, medicine cabinet, and lighting were all redone. They also installed a new bath exhaust fan and sliding tub / shower door. Replaced old wainscotting of 6x6 dingy white and black tiles with the sleek new glass subway tiles and ceramic chair rail and wainscot I purchased.

Overall, this was a great experience. The handyman kept finding additional problems from a renovation I had done by another company about 6 years ago, so those needed to be addressed. He had to visit the Home Depot to find items to do these fixes, which took up a lot more time than anticipated and raised the final bill for the job. This wasn't INEX's fault, though. Chris was very thorough. He worked very hard to get the job done in a single day and did excellent work. While removing a floor tile, one of the wall tiles cracked. Chris came back a couple of days later and replaced that tile, as well. He is genuinely dedicated to doing things right and to correcting problems as they arise. He was also consistently pleasant, upbeat, and informative. INEX company owner, Chuck, was also a delight--very professional, experienced and willing to take on these little jobs that had been sort of building up in my bathroom without charging me a fortune. The eventual bill was higher than I anticipated because of the extra time needed to correct problems encountered as the work progressed. I'd say go with getting these problems corrected while Chris or another INEX person is there, but make sure you (and they) keep a running total of the costs so you aren't surprised at the end of the job. Even with the higher bill, the job was still VERY well priced. I'd use INEX again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: Fixed broken floor tiles, water leak in shower from previous renovation. Replaced bathroom sink. Corrected pipe problem for bathroom sink. Recaulked tub and other areas of bathroom. Spackled around new bathroom lighting fixture.

It went great! Chuck and his team (our leader was Said) showed up for every meeting (and we met three times before signing on the dotted line) at our agreed-upon meeting time on the dot. They listened to what we wanted (new updated look for a shoestring budget) and made a ton of money-saving suggestions to help us accomplish our goals. The work took LESS time than originally anticipated - with a few small instances where they had to come back because IKEA did not include the correct pieces in our original order - and was on budget. I am by nature a bit overly detail-oriented and neither Chuck nor Said minded a bit. In fact, Said often took calls from me at odd hours of the day without complaint! I completely trusted leaving them the keys to our place. Finally, when all was said and done I realized I wanted one of the walls painted a different color than I originally picked. Said and team came out and re-painted for me, without charge, within a few days of my call. All in all - we are thrilled with the results - the kitchen looks great! I would highly recommend this company!
Description of Work: We completely gutted our kitchen and replaced all cabinets, flooring and appliances. We did not make any structural changes, but besides that, everything was removed and replaced.

INEX did a fantastic job on the bathroom--we are extremely pleased with the work and our entire experience with INEX. From Chuck's initial visit and advice on materials, to Oswaldo's help with our questions and project recommendations, to Julio's meticulous craftsmanship and extremely hard work, we couldn't be more pleased. Initially, we contacted other bathroom remodel companies and received higher estimates, but INEX's estimate was much more reasonable and Chuck made a very good impression (no pressure sales tactics). Also, with INEX, we had the freedom to choose our own materials (we were not locked into a certain materials package pre-determined by a company). Based on Chuck's recommendations and his guidance on brands and distributors, we ordered the needed materials and arranged to be put on INEX's schedule. Our project manager, Oswaldo, then came out a week or so before the project was to begin to review our purchases and answer any questions. Oswaldo also made a good impression and was very patient with our questions. The work itself was done by Julio, who completed the entire bathroom remodel within a week. Julio was always on time, was very professional and polite, and impressed us with his strong work ethic and attention to detail. Every morning, he placed drop cloths over our stairs and hallway (to protect our floors), and he cleaned up after every workday (even wiping down the foyer when it rained one day). Throughout the week, Oswaldo would be on site to check that the work was going smoothly and ask us questions to clarify exactly how we wanted the remodel to proceed (e.g. how much space we wanted between tiles, how we wanted things mounted, etc.). Although we had checked in on the bathroom during the week to see how things were looking, we were blown away when we saw the completed bathroom on the final work day--it exceeded our expectations. Weeks later, we still feel as though we are staying in a luxury hotel when we step into that bathroom. We highly recommend INEX's services and hope to work with INEX again in the future on another bathroom remodel.
Description of Work: INEX renovated our second-floor hallway bathroom. Work included demolition of the old tile floor and shower tiles, the installation of new tiles, installation of a new vanity, top, faucet, toilet, mirror, and lighting, and painting. Chuck let us order and purchase our own materials (but gave us advice regarding brands and local distributors), and we coordinated with a local plumbing company who installed the shower fixtures. (Please note that the price listed above does not include the cost of materials or cost of the plumber.)

Mr. Edwards soon figured out that a particle board support directly under the counter had swollen from the leaking faucet, pushing the counter up and springing loose the back splash from the wall. He then had to remove the sink and the dishwasher to take out the part of the support that was waterlogged and replace it with the correct size support from two pieces of wood. The sink and back splash had not been set and caulked correctly when they were first installed (seven years ago), he was able to set those perfectly. The cost for the extra work was still below or on par with the several other estimates that I had received from other handyman services on Angie's List for the work I originally thought needed to be done. Mr. Edwards broad experience and problem solving skills are superior.
Description of Work: I hired Rusty Edwards to replace a disposal and a badly leaking kitchen faucet, and to re-glue one end of a back splash that had separated from the wall.
