 + -1 moreThey guys were great! They showed up on time and were ready to work. They only stopped every now and again to sip some water but went for 8 hours straight. Very smart, nice, and courteous guys and it shows through in their work ethic. Not a single piece of furniture was scratch and no dents or dings in the new house. They schedule me at the last minute when I was very desperate and I can't thank them enough for that. Great contractor to work with!!!

 + -1 moreFirst let me start by saying I think moving company's are all a scam as they always have these hidden costs a fees that they surprise you with after they are done. It always seems as if they are milking the clock. In my case they showed up 30 minutes late and then took a 30 minute lunch break which i positive i payed for being that the break was incorporated in my final fee (i'm sure of it) They spent another hour and a half folding moving pads and rolling tape into a ball in my drive way at the new house (i feel all this can be done back at the home base, thus not OVER charging the customer) who is getting charged by the hour of course. I'm just glad that me and my girlfriend had taken the 3 days before the move to get over 20 boxes of stuff (pantry food, garage knick knacks) over to the new location if not i would have payed for another 3 hours worth of service. Again they did a great job but again my girlfriend and another friend i had come over noticed that once they got to the new house it was all about milking the clock and i feel i was taken advantage of, because my buddy commented that it had only taken us 4 hours total with the two of us to move in and out of a bigger home with more stuff and he was right. They had 4 guys and it still took over 6 hours to move into a house 10 minutes away. I had purchased the 4 guys for 4 hours with free supplies for $570 and i was charged $900 for the addition hours they spent folding moving mats in the drive way and partially cleaning up moving tape off the moving pads.

 + -1 moreI called In & Out movers 12 days prior to my move and the gentleman said he would try to fit me in on my moving date. Ultimately he said he could have his men to my apartment between 12-2 that day. I asked him to move it to 1-3, and he agreed without any problem. Once he received my information, I mentioned the Angie's list special. The gentleman told me he was basically doing me a favor by squeezing me in last minute, and that he could not honor the deal. He said he needed at least 2 weeks notice to give it to me (I was 2 days shy... I couldn't understand why that would matter) Alternatively, he offered a 7% discount on the labor which totaled $36 in the end. The day of the move I was anticipating the men to be at my place between 1-3 pm. At around 11am I received a call that they would not be able to arrive at 430 due to the storm in the area. This was understandable to me, the storm was somewhat menacing and I can understand how horrible drivers can get in the DMV. They showed up precisely at 430pm, which I was impressed by. All of my things were boxed already, and all of the furniture were in the living room ready for departure upon the movers arrival. They moved my items adequately fast given the circumstances of not having a dedicated elevator. They moved my stuff into the truck and were ready to depart around 7pm. The men moved all of my things into the place with a lot of care not to damage anything or get the carpets in my new place dirty. Their professionalism was something I was extremely impressed by. 2 of the gentlemen did not speak any English, but the leader spoke fluently and was very courteous. The bill was a little stiff. They bill an hour of travel time to get to your place and back home as well as a charge for their gas. (Isn't that the cost of doing business?) Also the supplies cost were outrageous. I ended up moving my own tv because the box for the tv would cost $55! When the gentleman totaled up my bill, I was definitely surprised. $900 for a move with everything already boxed and ready to go and only a 1 bedroom apartment seemed a little excessive to me. However, I was very impressed by their professionalism and with the great care they took not to damage my things. So I paid their price without contest. Overall, pricey but high quality movers.

 + -1 moreBefore I comment on the actual services provided by the mover workers sent out by In & Out, let me first comment favorably on their office staff, particularly Igal. Igal handled all the arrangements for us and set everything up quickly and efficiently. What also was fantastic was the way that In & Out Movers were able to accommodate our move which was extremely last minute. He was very responsive and very comprehensive in the moving quote(s) he emailed us and in further discussions explaining the whole process. Our slated time to move was 9am, but they didn't arrive until 9:40am, however, we weren't bothered by this as we knew they might have hit traffic. Because the company is located in Rockville, and we were in Baltimore, we expected that the day of the move, the actual movers might be a little late due to the dreadful traffic that often exists between the Rockville area and Baltimore on the highway(s). In fact, this is exactly what happened, so we were ok/understanding. The movers who came, there were three, were very efficient and careful in their moving of boxes and furniture the whole time. They diligently made sure that any items (including glass) which were fragile or damageable were sufficiently wrapped and padded to protect them. We had a one bedroom condo, about 800 square feet and they were able to finish loading the truck by 12pm, even with their late arrival. When we realized that in addition to the storage unit we rented, we may need them to make a second, un-planned stop to drop items off at another location, they made it easy to do and with no hassle. We were very impressed and pleased with In & Out, and would absolutely both use them again and recommend them.

 + -1 moreGeorge and his crew arrived 30 min. early. They emptied our apartment within 2 hrs. and they had us moved to our new place within the next 2 hours. They wrapped and protected the big items, like the leather sofa, for example. When the service elevator in the new building stopped working, they were patient while we directed them to a new elevator. They kept moving and didn't miss a beat. More importantly, our furniture and clothes and boxes were all handled with care. Nothing was broken or missing. They were friendly yet professional. We would hire this company for our next move. Absolutely.

 + -1 moreIgal was courteous and flexible. I could tell from our conversations that he cared about his customers and wanted to do his best to please them. When I told him that I found a different company that could more easily accomodate a last-minute Saturday move, he tried to retain us as customers, but he was not overly pushy.
Description of Work: I had several conversations with Igal. He provided an estimate for moving service and then when I called back to change to two trucks instead of one he was flexible and easy to work with. We were planning to have this company move us but we had to change our move date to a Saturday a week before the scheduled move. I knew from our previous conversations that they were fully booked on our new move date, but when I called to talk to Igal about it, he tried his best to be accommodating and find a way to make it work. However, we found a different company on Angie's list that had an opening that Saturday. So, we canceled with this company.

 + -1 moreThe three guys that we had were on-time, very professional, and careful with our stuff. I asked them to write down their names, but I lost the paper with all of the moving. One of their names was Elias. I kept a close watch on the time because we didn't want to go over the 3 hours, but they ended up taking EXACTLY 3 hours! It was actually quite awesome. :) I hope that I never have to move again, but if I do, I will use them again.

Description of Work: i searched for movers and got quotes in the $800 to $1500 range. igal quoted 4 hours @ $396 using the angie's list deal, including travel time after i sent my inventory list. my wife and i chose to pack ourselves and break down the furniture and let in&out handle moving boxes and the rest. i was given a 8-9AM window, but they arrived at 9:45. very understandable considering a thursday morning trip on the beltway from rockville to columbia. remember, you only get charged 1 hour travel time, it must have taken them a 2-3 hour round trip in dc traffic. as soon as i read the contract and george explained my questions, they were right at work....wow! george and the other 2 guys were constantly on the move wrapping anything that could get scratched, and putting it on the truck, and still courteous and looking out for my 20 month old who seemed to always be in the way. we boxed some more while they worked and they grabbed even things i did not mention on the inventory list - thanks to the big 'ol truck. i read horror stories of 2 trips to move a little 1100 sq ft apartment becuase of little rented trucks with other companies. anyways, 2.5 hours later and we were outta there and unloading at the new place! they laid out a red rubber mat to protect our new hardwood floors and stairs and were so careful at the stairs. we felt sorry for them because of the 3 flights. we offerrefd water. we even offered a [paid] break when the food truck came by, but george and his crew declined - they had to be hungry! most impressively, the box spring would not fit in the stairs so they heaved it up on the balcony an brought it through the second level french doors! i tried to help, but george practically man-handled it himself. they verified if there was anything else, then i paid via credit card and then they jetted. the total was $625 including a $99 deposit when i booked. it did go an hour more than quoted, but jeez, i didn't realize how much we had acquired through the years. so $500 labor, $50 fuel surcharge and $75 materials (i had my tv and two mirrors packed, plus a lot of little things were wrapped for ease of carrying). there were superficial scratches in the wall which we have a touch up kit for, but my friends and i would definitely have done more damage. i would definitely hire in&out again. mad props to george and his crew! anyone caught off guard with prices must not have read the contract. i read every word and verified with igal. thanks again!

 + -1 moreI bought the $299 for a 16 foot truck and three movers for 3 hours deal. the advertised overtime is at $100 per hour (for the crew and truck). I found out that one of the three labor hours is counted towards their travel to my house - they should really state that on the deal. the overtime rate was wrong ($111 and not $100) on the estimate sent, but they corrected that. The contact person Igal was very responsive to all calls. However, the three guys and the truck came 6 hours later than they were supposed to, due to the overtime at their morning job location an hour away from me. I avoided hidden costs by already having tape and furniture shrink wrap at the house. this was not a full house move - that had happened 2 months prior. the three guys moveda tall bookcase, two armoirs, one desk, two dressers, a sleighbed frame we had dismantled already, one set of mattress and boxspring (I already had them in plastic mattress bags that I had purchased on amazon), two nightstands, one very small coffee table, 4 large moving boxes, a dismatled weight bench (no weights) and some odds and ends that were left in the garage that we had missed in the previous trip (a wheel barrow and a tool chest were the main items). The exhausted movers (they had worked from 930AM until 5PM in baltimore prior to driving to my house) were not very fast, but a the lead guy was very good and knew what he was doing. The very young worker with them was not as experienced, but was keeping busy. the third guy apparently had no energy left, and was either moving slo-mo or diappearing frequently. they used my shrinkwrap on the furniture, but did not use blankets for some reason. There was a little damage to one of my armoirs - a piece of the wooden knob had chipped off. Considering how tired these guys were, I figure I lucked out. They finished at 10:15 PM and I was charged for upto 10PM, at the $100/hour rate as advertised.
Description of Work: Three guys came with a moving truck larger than the 16 foot I signed up for, and moved what remained in my old house (main move was 2 months prior) about 6 miles to the new house.

 + -1 moreIgal and his crew were great. 4 people showed up instead of the 3 that I was expecting which was fine as it was only an extra $30 an hour for the extra person. They worked very hard and efficiently. Their degree of professionalism was great. Everyone was polite and they took great care of my stuff. A marble slab that I had on a dresser broke and Igal had a new one made for me free of charge. What other mover would do that?!?!? Take about customer care. The move took a lot longer than expected which was due to the fact that I was moving into an elevator building with a small elevator. Overall the price was fine. It was a lot more than the estimate but a large part of that was likely due to the elevator which really slowed things down. However, the final cost was similar to other moving companies that had inspected my apartment prior to moving. I will happily use them for my next move.

Description of Work: First, I purchased an Angies List coupon for $299 and then paid $99 extra for the time and mileage incurred while traveling. The $299 covered a 16' truck, 3 men, for 3 hours. The movers were supposed to arrive between 1-2PM but they were unable to make it on time. They did call and text me to say they were running late, which was nice. They ended up showing up at 3:20PM and then did not know where to park. We live on a very narrow street so they had difficulty figuring that out but once they did (they parked one street over) everything went smoothly. They were very polite and moved things quickly and efficiently out of the house. When they were done moving things out, they followed us to a storage facility and unloaded everything there. Although we really don't know if there were any damages to our furniture like a lot of the other reviewers said (since everything is now crammed into a storage room) I think that they were pretty careful with moving things from watching them.

The agreement said 3 men for 3 hours (one hour for traveling, so basically just two hours), but 4 men showed up which was great. They were able to quicky moved all items that needed to be moved to garage in a timly and professional manner. They were able to get the job done in 1 1/2 hours. We would use them again if we have the need in the future.

We needed some furniture moved from Silver Spring to D.C., with an additional pick up in D.C. The movers came exactly on time. They were pleasant and they were extremely efficient. Milton had suggested three people for the move, even though it was essentially from one one bedroom apartment to another. He was absolutely right -- the three of them worked together like clockwork. In every way, they made the awful task of moving more pleasant and certainly easier. We would definitely recommend this company and use them again.

 + -1 moreThe company was very responsive and prompt which was nice. We had more stuff than I raelized, and they worked the extra hours to make sure all of our stuff was moved without a complaint. The only downfall is that they worked very fast and EVERY single wood piece of furniture I own was either scratched, nicked, or chunks were missing from it. I'm not sure if they tried to put too much in the truck when packing, or if it was just that they were trying to move too fast, but literally EVERY piece of wood I own ended up damaged. All the pieces were wrapped with plastic and under furniture blankets, so its not like they were exposed. When the manager called, I hadn't finished unpacking yet so I only noticed the dining room table which he gave me a $50 credit for, but after I took a tally of all the damages, it was WAY more than the credit.
Description of Work: Moving services for a three bedroom townhome. There were two movers, 1 driver, and truck rental.

 + -1 moreMy daughter and her roommates had college things in storage, and I had brought out another full van from Indiana. My daughter and her friends were moving into a fourth-floor apartment in a building with no elevator and very little parking nearby. In and Out Movers were the only company of six I contacted to give me a bid. They showed up at the storage unit and quickly emptied it of all the things. When we arrived at the apartment, the men started carting all of the boxes and crates up the steep, narrow stairs. After the truck was emptied, the men moved my car and quickly emptied it. A job that would have taken us all day and would have been very difficult, they did in just a few hours. The men were very personable while still being professional. It was the best money I had spent in a long time.
Description of Work: We had a storage room full of college gear plus a car-full of boxes to be moved up four flights of narrow steps to a small apartment.

 + -1 moreWe had unfortunate circumstances that happened the same weekend as our move. We received a call 12 hours before our move stating that our truck had overheated and broken down. We were scheduled to move on a Friday and they had to cancel and could not move us until the following Tuesday. They did offer us a discount due to the inconvenience, but our lease was up and there was no way for us to wait until the following Tuesday. We also asked if they could just rent a truck and move us and they said that was not possible. We had to cancel our move with this company and they did understand the inconvenience and refunded us our deposit. I think it was just an unlucky event that happened the same weekend as our move, however, it created a huge inconvenience during an already stress time. We ended up spending a lot more money on our move because of it.
Description of Work: We scheduled our whole house move a month in advance. We have a 1 bedroom house. We were given a great price quote. Scheduling and working with the company over the phone was a good experience.
