Spencer and his dad were prompt, professional and careful. They did a good job of explaining what they would do and I was very pleased with the end result.

Work was performed professionally and efficiently. I would hire again.

They were pretty good. It was a little expensive for what I thought it should have been. But, they did a really good job. They built it custom and everything. I did look at a number of companies on Angie's List website. But the problem was that a lot of those companies wanted a minimum of like four windows replaced or like a door. I was like, "No, I just want this one glass pane replaced." It's such a small job. A lot of those companies just wouldn't even consider it. I was really frustrated actually at that time because I had to get it done in a short amount of time too. I had my inspection coming up and that's one of the things that they look at. You can't have broken glass panes because it could be a potential hazard and that kind of thing. I was kind of like under the gun in terms of time. Some of the companies didn't even return my phone calls. I was really frustrated with them at that time. Glass Doctor was very professional. They came into the house. I sort of have a house rule about no shoes in the house. They even complied with that. They took measurements on the window. They were like, "Oh, this is a custom window. So we have to go back and make it. We have to come back." They had some stuff in the car but they didn't have one to make the one of the size that I needed. So they came back within a week. What stood out the most about them was the fact that they were willing to even do this job. It's such a small job in comparison to everything else. They were very willing to work with me and my timeframe. I told them I really needed to get this done asap. Everybody I interacted with at that company was really courteous and were really willing to work with me. That was amazing. I know it was only a small amount of business for them, but they kind of have the attitude that no job was too small. I would definitely recommend this place. If you only have one window that needs fixing or one window that needs replacing, they really really work with you to try to find to something that either is an exact match or really close match.

In Nov 2011we contracted Glass Doctor of Rockville to replace two double pane windows that had fogged up, and we purchased an additional 5 years warranty against fogging due to seal failure. The caulking was done poorly, and Glass Doctor had to return to fix it, with resistance on their part. A year and a half later a small crack appeared at the lower seal of one of the windows, and since I thought I had a 10 year warranty I called up Glass Doctor to have them replace the window. I was then told that Glass Doctor of Rockville had been sold to Glass Doctor of Beltsville, and to call the latter, who, when I called told me to contact the former, and so it went for several months until the previous owner of Glass Doctor of Rockville informed me that the crack was not covered by the warranty, and that I was out of luck. Even if the window later fogged up, I was told that Glass Doctor would not honor the warranty because the crack (which was caused by defective seals) would have caused the fogging and not the defective seals. Meanwhile if the other window fogs up within the next 8 years it is unlikely that my warranty will be honored because the previous owner of Glass Doctor of Rockville will not be around, and the current owner, Glass Doctor of Beltsville does not appear to be ready to honor GD of Rockville's warranties. I was originally willing to pay a higher than average price for the work because I thought that Glass Doctor was a well established company that would stand by their work. In fact, the job was over priced, the work shoddy, and the company backed out of a warranty on a technicality. Good companies bend over backward to keep their customers happy. This is not a good company.

I was in the process of putting my house on the sales market. After professional window cleaning, I noticed two skylights and two panes in the kitchen garden window were fogged over. I needed to replace them and worried that I would have to buy whole new window units at a very high cost and time. Called one company who could not even give me a quote for 2 weeks....and then it would be another 3-4 weeks before the work would be completed. Called The Glass Doctor. They came out 2 days later, measured and assured me that the panes could be replaced and would have the work done within 7 days. All worked out as planned and the windows look great. Everyone was very professional and on time for all appointments. Although it cost $1200 (materials and labor), it would have cost me 3 or 4 times that much for replacements - so I am very pleased. I recommended them to my real estate agent for anytime she runs into a situation like this again with another client.
