G street is awesome. We worked with Cat who was truly outstanding in her service. Friendly, helpful, professional, had a good eye for fabrics, and helped us keep the cost down. When we couldn't find a nice/ inexpensive fabric for our couch, but then after we left she found one of our top choice fabrics in the remnants section and called us right away so we could put it on hold. We even mentioned that we were next door at Barns and Noble and since G street was closing she brought us the swatch at Barns and Noble! Amazing! We love her, haven't gotten our furniture back yet, but will post another review when we do.

Who knew finding the right button could be so difficult? the salesperson spent a considerable amount of time with me to find the right button (button material, size, color) for the jacket. She asked a LOT of questions and in the end, I got some horn buttons in absolutely the right color.

The service was great. They were very fair. They are known for their quality, and it was excellent. They are very responsive when I call.

I have been going to them for probably 10 years. I used to like them when they were in their older location. Now they are directly under a gym so there is a constant dropping of barbells overhead. It is really disturbing and fabric shopping should be peaceful. Everything is smaller; there is less selection in the fabric department. Their price is higher than other fabric shops, but the fabric quality is far better. The sewing machine was done when they said it would be, but I had to wait for a whole month. If you get the right person, they are very professional and if you get the wrong person, they go hide in the back. I asked a question to a woman who was showing me a demo of a top of the line sewing machine. I told her that I really wanted to know how it worked with invisible thread and she said that she would get me that information. She went to the back of the store and just never came back. I went and asked somebody else and they said that she was teaching a class. In short the machine couldn't handle invisible thread any better than any other machine so I just left. It was a $10,000 machine so they probably weren't going to get my business anyway. I will continue to use them.

They did what they said they'd do in the time they said they'd do it for the price they said they'd do it for. They did a good job of it. Can't ask for more than that.

They are very friendly and knowledgeable people. We shop there often and they are always helpful. They also have a fabric store. The store is very large. I rate them high overall.

We were very unhappy with the product. The person that installed it was very good. Eventually they agreed to a full refund and were polite about it, The product was not to our liking and not satisfactory. Within 4 months we did get a refund. They were polite all the way through. They were concerned and tried to make adjustments but it did not work.

Expensive. Long lead time for most fabrics.

We needed two custom fitted covers for sofa cushions. We selected G Street Fabrics from Angie's List, solely on the basis of location. There was only one report but it was good. We thought the price was high, $229, (but we made no comparisons so what do we know?) and it took six weeks. The store is huge and there was a lot of choice in fabrics, but not ours, but we selected a fabric that would work. The finished product was outstanding, better than we had hoped. Good tight tailoring and superior zippers. Recommended!

QUALITY OF THE REUPHOLSTERY IS OUTSTANDING. ONE WINGBACK CHAIR HAD DECORATIVE BRASS BRADS AND THEY LOOK FANTASTIC. THE FABRIC WAS ON SALE FOR 35% OFF AS WAS THE LABOR. THE FOLKS WORKING AT G STREET FABRICS WERE HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE AMOUNT AND KIND OF FABRIC THAT WOULD BE BEST FOR OUR CHAIRS. THERE WAS A SMALL ISSUE WITH THE ESTIMATE, BUT THEY DID HONOR THEIR ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
