The staff at Flintstone was highly professional and welcoming. From Rosie in the showroom to Rodolfo doing the measuring to the entire installation crew, we have only the highest compliments. Doing business with Flintstone was an absolute pleasure. Definitely unusual for construction projects!!
Description of Work: We installed a new sink and faucet and replaced the entire run of countertop that surrounded the sink. We also replaced a large slab island, and replaced the wooden cap on a half wall with matching stone. Rosie in the showroom helped us choose a style of quartz that would blend perfectly with the other quartz on the other countertops in our large kitchen. The installation crew was fantastic. We couldn't believe they could demo the old quartz, install the new countertop and island, do the plumbing, and finish every joint with clear silicone so quickly and professionally. Within just a few hours, we had what looked like a new kitchen. Amazing.

Repeat customer- they have a great selection and customer service has always been stellar. I worked with Diego and he was very helpful and patient during my multiple visits to match tile samples against the quartz. Scheduling measurements and installation was quick and easy.

Cristian was very helpful - he gave me a ballpark estimate based on the kitchen design that beat all the other quotes- I chose a high end Cambria quartz. I had seen their finished install in a friends kitchen so I knew they did good work - I was a little worried that they still use cardboard for templating instead of laser measurements BUT the finished install is PERFECT. Highly recommend - great customer service & perfect installation for a great price!

Flintstone was superb. Their service, selection, and flexibility with me were unparalleled, and I ended up with the most beautiful countertops for my kitchen. They were efficient and priced extremely competitively. I’ve already recommended them to several friends and colleagues doing renovations.

The Flintstone team was thoroughly professional and respectful and responsive and patient. I was replacing Formica from the 1950’s or 60’s. Putting the quartz slab on the cabinets entailed getting a new corner cabinet and in sink cabinet or reinforcing what I had. I chose to replace with a corner lazy Susan and wider I sink cabinet, as well as larger sink, on the advice of the measurer. Ordered the all wood cabinets from Wood4lless. Received them and built them with my contractor. Then we installed and anchored the new cabinets, and were ready for measurement. I selected an “ogee” fluted edge. The countertop fit Perfectly and they had notched it to for flush on the edge around the door frames at the kitchen entrance from outside. In short, I am thrilled! The quartz has a lifetime guarantee from the manufacturer against chipping or breaking. It is low maintenance (unlike granite, which they also sell) and stain resistant and beautiful - I ordered Cambria’s Montgomery pattern. Painted my old all wood cabinets white, and it looks like a fairy kitchen. Very calm and oceanic.

We had a GREAT, seamless experience with Flintstone Marble and Granite. It started with us touring their product at their facility in Rockville. Cristian was great and displayed a ton of patience as he showed us around and answered our questions. We picked out our slabs, received an immediate quote, and scheduled our measurement and install all in the same meeting. The actual measurement took about an hour and was done very professionally. The install crew was quick and did a fantastic job! We love our new countertops by Flintstone Granite and Marble and highly recommend if you're in the area!

In the age of the pandemic, doing a house project is not easy but Flinstone and Christian Acetuno made this a safe pleasurable experience. I had initiated phone contact and Mr Acetuno came to my house masked did measurements and then I was able to go to their facility where they have their store front and fabrication and actually pick out my material which they had in stock and negotiate a fair deal. The installation was done by a crew of three, flawlessly, only took one hour and thirty minutes, amazing. All three installers were masked and I kept the kitchen door open for extra ventilation. The quarts looks fabulous and the experience was really excellent.

Extremely, extremely pleased. The finished product is beautiful. Flintstone Marble & Granite Inc. sent two guys to my home. They were so nice, courteous, and professional. They knew exactly what they were doing. They looked at my setup and discussed an action plan. They told me how they’d do it. I felt comfortable. One of my major worries was that my home is only 3-years old. So my granite is new. I needed professionals who ‘knew’ how to be careful, gentle, with my granite and my cabinets. They delivered. When I was missing a piece or part, they were so nice to show me on their tablet what I needed, inexpensive, and they even went to the store to buy it for me. Convenience, I could stay in my home. When the job was done, so beautiful. My new, single-bowl undermounted sink looks gorgeous. They, at the same time, send a team of two professionals: a granite, installation expert, and a plumber. The team worked well in conjunction with each other. They were helping each other get my job done. A HUGE plus — cannot say enough about this — the price was fair. I'm going to be honest with you. And sadly this happens ‘all’ the time: contractors take advantage of customers when they have a need, a project the customer needs help getting done. I’ve been taken advantage of simply because I had a need. This company treated me very fairly and didn’t “punish my pocket.” Here’s my sincere, candid, advice I can give you. If you call Len the Plumber (I’ve hired them in past) or Michael & and Son (consulted them, gotten estimates) or Mr. Handyman (hired, my wallet was punished, terrible service, job wasn’t completed), they will drain your wallet. I know because I've hired them. I am normally afraid of hiring contractors. My most sincere advice to you, call these guys — Flintstone Marble & Granite Inc, 14700 Southlawn Lane, Rockville, MD 20850 — you will speak to the owner. You will get a fair price. You’ll be thrilled with the customer service, result. My NEW sink installation looks gorgeous and I couldn’t be more happy. Bluntly, if you don't call these guys, you are making a financial mistake that will hurt your wallet. Extremely Happy Customer, Amir K. Milbes.
Description of Work: My project was a little complicated. Many contractors feared away telling me they couldn’t do it. They didn’t have the expertise to successfully complete my project. I bought my home in 2015. It was a new build that came with an undermounted sink. Tell contractors “under”mounted and many tell you they can't do it. They simply don't have the expertise to do such jobs. I was also changing from a two-bowl sink to a single-bowl. So the plumbing needed to be reworked, too. Flintstone Marble & Granite Inc. accepted my project. And the owner put my mind at ease by taking the time to explain that they’ve done hundreds of these types of projects.

Excellent!!; the Sales person was patient advising how rude I was dealt with on previous granite works. She suggested several selections based on my description; and I went back to Grameco and granite place in Frederick-I finally settled with Monte Carlo Bourdeaux and love it. The installers were professional, on time; and I love the 'free' faucet' and cutting board. I was worried regarding a big 'rust' spot but they strategically cut around it. The striations of creme, rust-brown; burgundy and brown are beautiful-even the sales lady liked it. debating on back splash of the leftover piece. http://flintstonegranitecountertops.reachlocal.net/portfolio/

Because the counter isn't big we only needed a remnant for it. Flintstone had a good selection and a reasonable price. We weren't sure about some markings on the first piece we chose, so they made a pattern after measuring our bathroom sink area and we used it to see where the holes would fall on the piece. We didn't like the way it would look, so we chose a different piece. After talking with Alex we decided the marble we wanted wouldn't be sturdy enough for a kid's bath (thank you, Alex!) so we switched to a granite piece. It was good that Flintstone had enough remnant options. They were quick with the work and showed up on time. The cut piece was installed perfectly with a large rectangular sink that we picked out, and it looks great. We had pulled out the original counter and sink and took care of the plumbing ourselves.

We went to Flintstones for countertops and we were amazed and a little bit overwhelmed with the choices we had after being better educated by our sales rep Jackie. She showed us their granite inventory and we also viewed samples of engineered quartz, marble and natural quartzite. Jackie discussed the pros and cons of all of them including price, strength and maintenance. We brought in our rough kitchen measurements and she was able to provide us an accurate quote for the various stone options including installation. Needless to say, Flintstone's attentive staff and competitive price was the best out of 3 other local countertop fabricators that we received estimates from. Once we were ready to move ahead, we went to a massive quartzite and granite warehouse to pick our slabs. We ended up going back a few times before we made our decision because the stone options were endless. Ultimately we chose a beautiful white fantasy quartzite (amazing really) to showcase our 6 x 6 island. We also decided to go with Flintstones for our new shaker white cabinets. Tim, our cabinet designer was able to work within our budget and provide us with modern 42 inch high cabinets with soft close doors, molding above the top trim, and a stunning subway tile backsplash. Installation was pretty smooth and Tim was able to tweak things at the last minute per our request. We had a great experience with Flintstones. Thanks Jackie and Tim!

I contracted the work to start at the end of June and be finished in two weeks however the company just finished the project this year, 2015. It started off great, but shortly thereafter, the work slowed down and communication on the project came to a standstill as well as the work. One worker would show up for a days labor and on one occasion, intoxicated. I could not get the person who initiated the contract with me at Flintstone to finish the agreed upon work. It was a horrific ordeal. So much so, I had to pay legal fees for an attorney to have Flintstone complete the kitchen remodel as well as an inspector to come to my home and provide a written report for legal use. It took two years which just ended in my favor this past March.

It went well. Everything was completed within five days. Had to coordinate with another company for counter removal and reinstall but there was no problem. There was only one tiny glitch. The dishwasher was not secured to the cabinets, but it was taken care of at a later date. Tim Adams was very nice and a no pressure salesman. For the most part, our phone calls were promptly returned.

I purchased a remnant piece of granite with a ceramic sink from Flintstone Marble and Granite on Southlawn Lane, Rockville,MD. I was told that the vanity top would be ready on Saturday, May 3. I was also told to be sure to be at the shop between 9AM and 1 PM so that someone would be available to load the top into my car. I arrived at 11:30AM only to be told the top was not ready and to come back at 4 PM. I was not able to get back that day and called Luis to try to arrange a delivery. I also emailed Luis on two occasions with no reply from the message left or the emails. I took leave to go to Flintstone on May 9. The top was ready and loaded into my car. Later that day, I realized I did not see a back splash. Called on Saturday morning and was told Luis was on a site visit. Someone took my complaint and supposedly left a message on Luis's cell phone.........no response. I will never do business with this company again.

It was a horrible experience. The day that they were supposed to do the installation, they did not have all of the cabinets ready. There were substantial delays and they installed the wrong size vanity. The doors would open up and gouge into the wall. It was one problem after another and they were not very responsive. It reached a point that we stopped the last payment on our credit card and we did not hear from them. We had to hire someone else to correct their mistakes. I would never use them again. The people that did the work were friendly. We had a communication problem and they were not professional. The price was okay.

SUMMARY: Price: They had a great selection at the best price in the area. That is the primary reason we chose them. Quality: VERY POOR workmanship. Undermount sink hole was significantly crooked and the shape didn?t match the sink well. Countertop corners were supposed to be rounded with a 1? radius, but they forgot to round one corner and many of the corners were rough. Countertop was not cut well to match a non-square wall. Countertop was not shimmed properly (it rocked). Sink was not supported well besides the silicone (one clip and a flimsy scrap of wood attached to the cabinet with one screw). The faucet did not fit the hole they drilled. They left silicone residue around the top of the sink. Responsiveness: They were easy to reach via phone and came out promptly to inspect the work. However, they were not quick to acknowledge the mistakes and they did not give the impression that they cared about doing the job right regardless of whether I noticed. Punctuality: They were very good except for the last day when they were an hour and a half late. I had to call to find out when they were coming. Professionalism: Until we had problems, they were very good. However, the final installation crew was very difficult to work with and I had to remind them to fix several things that the manager who inspected it had said they would fix. I had already pointed these out these problems to them on a previous visit. They flat out refused to fix one of the problems (that the manager had said they would fix) and I overheard a rude comment in Spanish as they were leaving. My Recommendation: Don?t use Flintstone. Pay a little more for better workmanship. If you do decide to use Flintstone, very carefully inspect for the things mentioned above before you let them install the counters and definitely before you authorize the final payment. THE DETAILS: I should state right from the outset that I have done extensive remodeling work (though I am not a professional contractor) on my own house and others? houses and I have a high standard of quality for my own work and any contractor I hire. At the same time, I recognize that perfection is impossible. I do expect though that a company/contractor who claim to be an expert in their field show attention to detail and strive for a high standard of craftsmanship. I expect them to care about doing a job correctly whether or not I?m watching. This project was my first interaction with Flintstone and went into it with no bias except the generally positive reviews I read here on Angie?s List. My wife and I chose them primarily because they were advertising the lowest price in the area and they had a good selection at that price. They also had a very fast turnaround (1 week). When their guy came out to measure, he drew a sketch and took measurements (he did not make a template). I mentioned several specific things I wanted done. In particular, I showed him a wall that was not square that I wanted the granite cut to match and the corners that I wanted cut with a 1? radius. After he left, I did some research and realized that it was considered best practice to reinforce the front and back of the sink with steel rods. I called and they said they weren?t planning to do it but they would add it for $60, which I decided to do. When the granite arrived, there were several problems. First, they had not rounded one of the corners that I specifically mentioned. Their installer did it in the field though so that was fine. It only took him a few minutes and it was better than the corners done at the shop. Second, they did not shim one of the pieces properly and I had to add a shim later to keep it from rocking. Third, the sink was siliconed in place but only mechanically supported by one clip and a scrap of wood screwed very flimsily to the side of the cabinet with a single screw. Fourth, the granite was not cut well to match the non-square wall. At one end there was little more than an 1/8? gap, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I had specifically pointed it out when they measured and they should have been able to cut it better. The fine print of the contract said they would caulk gaps like this but they did not. Fifth, I did not have the faucet on hand so I asked and they confirmed (multiple times) that the faucet hole size was standard. When the faucet came, it did not fit. The hole was at least 1/8? too small. (To be fair, it may have been a cheaply made faucet but it said it required a standard 1-1/2? hole.) Sixth, several of the 1? radius corners on the granite were very rough. They looked okay but as soon as you touched them you could feel vertical ridges. Again, not a big deal but a sign of poor craftsmanship. Seventh and most significant, the undermount sink hole was crooked and not shaped properly. I did not notice this until after they had left or I would not have let them install it. The back edge between the sink and the wall was about 3/8? wider on one side of the sink than on the other (that was only over a distance of about 12?). The front of the sink, which should have been a very shallow curve, also had a noticeable angle in it. This problem with the sink was what made me decide to call them back. I called and they sent someone out with a couple days. I was happy with the prompt response given that I had already paid. I showed him the sink and he at first he said he couldn?t see what I was talking about. I got out a measuring tape and showed him the 3/8? difference. His exact response was, ?That really bothers you?? Eventually he agreed to send someone out to fix it. The crew came a few days later. I showed them the faucet hole which needed to be wider, the rough corners that needed to be polished, and the crooked sink. The rest of the problems I had either fixed myself or I was going to fix. They took the sink piece back to the shop to regrind the sink hole. The same crew brought it back a few days later. They were supposed to arrive between 2 and 4 and they came at 5:30. I understand that schedules get delayed and that was fine with me, but it would have been helpful if they had called to let me know. The other side effect of them arriving very late in the day was that they seemed to just want to get done as quickly as possible. The sink hole was definitely better but it was obviously still off quite a bit. I stopped them and pointed this out before they installed it. Their response was that they were just the installers and that their job was just to install it and if I had problems with it, I could call the main office. When they caulked the sink, they left about ½? of silicone residue along the top of the sink and said that it would clean off easily later (so far it has not). When they finished with the sink, they picked up their tools to leave and I had to remind them again about the faucet hole and the rough corners (which I had shown the same crew only a few days before). They seemed annoyed but eventually got their drill to fix the faucet hole. They looked at the corners and said they looked fine (even though this was the third time I had asked for them to be fixed and their manager had said they would fix them). They finally said they weren?t going to do it and I overheard a rude comment in Spanish as they left. Five minutes later they came back and said that they had called the office and had been told to fix the corners. They proceeded to do a quick fix, and did not bother to polish them as well as the other corners. At this point, I can?t afford any more delays so I decided not to call them back. The sink is still noticeably crooked. (A straight line down the center of the sink bowl is about 1/4? off in 16?) I sent an email to the main office several days after they reinstalled the sink and explained that I did not feel like we had received the workmanship or professional service that we had paid for. I also explained that I was going to write a review and offered them the chance to see and discuss the review before I posted it. That was several days ago and I have not had any response.
