ELI AMITAY HANDYMAN SERVICES

Eli was hired to pressure wash, sand, and repaint my outside deck. He said he knew exactly which paint to buy. Within two weeks of his painting, the paint started bubbling off. I am convinced that he covered an oil base paint with some sort of water base or improper base paint. He agree to repaint it if I would pay for the paint. I agreed, and changed the color slightly only because it was being repainted anyway. The paint began to bubble again. At this point, Eli became uncooperative. He refused to do anymore work and said that the bubbles were because the furniture had scraped the deck, which is absolutely not the case. I asked for only half of my money back, as I did acknowledge that he had paid out for labor and time. He refused any sort of compromise, and I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Even then, he was completely uncooperative, and they could not find a resolution, so the complaint remains unresolved.

Eli's extremely conscientious. He put up plastic sheeting on the wall and door openings before beginning work to keep dust away from the rest of the house. Eli made certain I was apprised of any issues that arose during the project so I could give my input in a timely fashion. He always showed up on time, worked cleanly, and tidied up before leaving. He and his partner are genuinely enjoyable to work with -- they communicate well, have an infectious spirit and get the job done well. I especially appreciate their willingness to go above and beyond the job description, whether that meant receiving packages from UPS or helping the my other contractors carry heavy items. In the week since he completed this job, I've already recommended him to several of my neighbors. They liked him so much they've put him to work... and have asked him to come back!
