Dominic's Paving

Dominic and his team did a great job replacing a badly damaged partially paved concrete driveway with a new fully paved asphalt driveway. The project included demolition and excavation of the old driveway and was completed in 2 days. Dominic was very responsive and was in scheduling in order to avoid bad weather. Price was competitive with other estimates.

Everything went great. He came on time for the initial consultation and even though it was raining, he went outside in the rain to access the old driveway so that he could have a better informed discussion. He advised us on how much it needed to be widened by and also let us know what minute amendments he had to make to keep it within legal limits. He had to schedule around the terrible weather and finished the project within two days; it would have been 1 day if it wasn't raining so bad. We followed his advise about not using it for a few days because of how wet the ground was and the first time I finally drove on it, I was ecstatic! Overall it was a very pleasant experience and he was a great professional. I will definitely recommend him to everyone I know.

Dominic worked with me and my neighbor to fit our comprehensive project within our budget. While there was some initial tension in defining the scope of the project, Dominic's work product is excellent. I would hire his company again for any asphalt work, and I understand they do snowplowing/snow removal now as well.

They did a great job but they compacted it too much but came and fixed it. There were no argument and came and fixed the problem. They did a great job with my neighbor's and my driveway was bigger and a larger job. Dominic was responsive and called if he was running late. He is very customer oriented. i am now pleased with the job.

The project went very well. Dominic had to start a few days late due to rain but was in contact during the bad whether and quick to get started as soon as the rain lifted. He was timely arriving and spent the first day removing the old driveway, adding width and smoothing the surface. By mid-day the second day he had laid the new asphalt and finished by midday. We did have to call him to remove a bit of debris from the yard, mostly soil and grass but he was quick to do that.

Dominic came out and explained the best method to restore the driveway. He explained that he would dig out the cracking areas and he would add a layer of asphalt to the entire driveway to level and smooth it out. He also went the extra mile to ensure the edges were level with the sidewalks. He was courteous, professional and patient to answer all my questions and concerns.

The work was done according to the agreement and Dominic and his crew were extremely professional. The driveway needed a lot of work and it was all completed perfectly.. I would use this company again without hesitation.

The new parking pad and driveway Dominic installed literally changed my world!!!! I risk sounding like a TV ad...but I was so thrilled with the final product....and I have done a lot of remodeling and repair work. The new, clean and crisp look of the driveway has increased the property value/curb appeal. And it resolved daily problems I had to drive around in order to use my driveway. Dominic was a true professional...he was punctual, measured efficiently and presented an immediate and clear written estimate. We discussed the pros and cons plus pricing of doing the parking pad and/or the driveway. I was upfront on my financial restrictions which he understood and did not push or play games. I felt he was dealing with me honestly. Initially, I contracted to do the parking pad only, but after the first day and seeing the amount of work and their thorough prep work, I bit the bullet and added on the driveway redo portion. I just wish I could hire Dominic for more work! Repaving work is not cheap. However, Dominic's pricing was very reasonable. I had no idea the amount of work and machinery/labor required for the job and completely understood his pricing. In retrospect, the pricing was more than fair. My job took 3 days hard manual labor. I had no clue it would be such a huge amount of work.

Couldn't be happier. We had the driveway widened and extended and had the whole thing resurfaced. Dominic and his crew were professional and hard workers and the result is just what I hoped. And the price was very reasonable.

Dominic answered the phone immediately, came out within a few hours, explained what needed to be done and gave a lot of good advice. Left saying he would get back to me with an estimate. Never heard from him again. Several other Angie contractors did the same on other projects I sought bids for. Angie forces answer as to rehire and I really can't because we never got that far.

i had a really bad experience with dominic’s paving. first i asked dominic for an estimate to widen my single car driveway to accommodate 2 cars so that i could have a carport installed. so dominic gave me an estimate of $5,200 to do the work even though it would require less than 800 square feet of paving. however, i anticipated that i’d need my driveway extended another 4 feet for the carport. so i asked him to give me another estimate to extend my driveway by 4 feet and he quoted me an additional $1,200 for the 4 foot extension. well, after i met with the carport contractor, i found out that i’d actually need my driveway extended another additional 4 feet on top of that. so again i asked dominic for another estimate to add another additional 4 feet and he then quoted me an additional $2,000 even though he only estimated $1,200 for the first 4 foot extension. that’s when i got suspicious. why would he charge me $1,200 for a 4 foot extension one day, but the next day charge me $2,000 for the same thing? so when i called dominic by phone to discuss his estimates, he tried to “pressure me” into signing the contract immediately for a total amount of $8,400 for the total coverage area of approximately 875 square feet. well, because he pressured me, i decided to have 2 other paving contractors to also give me estimates for the exact same work and both of them charged me less than half of the amount dominic charged me. both of the other contractors charged me approximately $3,875 for the exact same 875 square feet that dominic charged me $8,400 to do. so i saved myself $4,525 simply by not trusting dominic’s estimate. both of the new contractors estimated less than half the cost that dominic estimated. so its clear that dominic tried to swindle me out of approximately $4,525 which is very unsettling that someone would try to do that to me. i’m just glad that i was smart enough to get a second and third opinion before i committed to dominic’s pressure tactics. clearly dominic is not trustworthy and i would suggest to anyone who uses his services, to make sure you get a second and third opinion before committing to dominic’s offers. dominic cannot be trusted...

Dominic did a perfect job by repairing and resurfacing my concrete patio.

It went really well. Dominic was very professional, he was there on time, he did everything he said he would do. The driveway looks fantastic and we are very pleased with the work he did. Everything he said he would do in the estimate was done as he said it would be.

Dominic was honest and provided great ideas. Work was done on time .

Although I ultimately decided to go with a different vendor, I was very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge exhibited by Dominic. He spent time with me explaining various options and was willing to do either a low cost patch job or a more complete repaving job. He did not pressure me and I believe honestly explained the pros and cons of several different options. He arrived on time for our appointment and always responded quickly to my email questions. I ultimately decided to use another vendor who had done several projects in my neighborhood and who came highly recommended by my neighbors, but I would definitely consider using Dominic in the future.

The provider called me at 11:00 am , saying that he is on the road and he will be at my house at 12:30 pm. He said that he wants to meet me for an estimate, but he NEVER made an appointment in advance. At 12:15 pm I left the house to drop my son for a soccer game. Mr. Dominic came at my house and he called me on my cell phone. I was trying to explain him the work that supposed to be done and he said that he wants me to come home to speak with him. I told him that I can be home at 1:30 pm but he said that he cannot wait. He start cursing me and saying that he drove 45 minutes to come at my house, even though he DID NOT have an appointment with me. He start saying discriminatory words like "I know that you are Indian!" and I told him that I don't want to deal with a person like him. I felt threaten by him and definitively I will let all my friends know to stay away from him and his company. He is a dangerous man that I don't want to ever meet him. I just want to add that even if I am not "Indian", I felt disgusted by his business approach.

The total time to complete the project took about 2 weeks, due to the constant rain. I would normally have taken about 5 days to complete. The cost of resurfacing the driveway is much lower than the final price, due to the following reason. Before they could resurface the driveway, they had to dig out by hand and re-compact dirt near my recently rebuilt retaining wall that runs along my driveway. This was not done properly by my previous contractor after they completed the retaining wall. The thought process for re-compacting the dirt is not to create dips in the asphalt as I begin driving over the driveway. They also found a potential problem with voids in the concrete located under the asphalt. All that to say, they probably saved me more headaches down the road, had they not re-compacted the dirt. Well worth the money, as I plan to be in this house a very long time. Now that the project is done. I am a completely satisfied customer and would highly recommend Dominic's Paving to anyone looking for quality work for their money. I was very impressed with Dominic, the owner. He was very knowledgeable and appeared very honest about his assessment of my project. He is not going to sell your something that you don't need or want. I found his price to be very competitive and the quality of the work is outstanding.

Dominic Paving did an excellent job in resurfacing our driveway. We had about 6 holes that needed filling. He dug the holes up and filled them with asphalt making one sturdy patch. He told us the patch may be visible but that it would look better over time. He came back and saw that it was too visible and added another coat of oil based asphalt. It sure does look better. The patch is an A+ patch. The driveway resurfacing is too. I would hire him again and recommend him.

We were very pleased with the outcome. Dominic was our top pick after meeting with many contractors. He showed up on time and delivered on the things he included in the contract. He worked with us and our neighbor to find the best solution in a shared driveway situation. We found a couple of spots that we weren't pleased and he came right away and took care of fixing them. We are glad we hired him.

Dominic was terrific. He took a lot of time explaining the job and was extremely patient answering all of our questions. He gave us a very competitive price, scheduled the work right away, and completed the job within the time frame that he promised. He, and his employees, were very courteous to my tenant and the adjacent store owners. We are very pleased with the work and impressed by Dominic's professionalism.

I sent Dominic a fairly detailed drawing for the work I wanted to be done. The same drawing was used at my town hall in order to get a permit which was approved. He replied that he didn't think they would let me do what was in the drawing but did give me a quote of 12K to do the work. I then replied to him that it had been approved by the town and that he assumed I also wanted the asphalt driveway widened and that was included in the 12K price. When I asked for a price without the asphalt work he lowered the quote to 11K. So that comes to a little over $56 a sq ft for removal and reinstall of concrete flatwork. That price per sq ft is almost 5x the next highest quote I got. The other 3 quotes I got are all within 900 of each other. When I asked Dominic why his price was so much higher than the other quotes he replied that if I liked the other contractors prices better then I should sign with them. I can provide the email exchange to anyone who doubts the above as being factual. In my opinion if he didn't want the work or to quote it then please just say so. Don't waste our time with silly offers.

The estimate was prompt and thourough. We had a long discussion on the types of sealers and the benefitis of both. We decided to have two areas saw cut and replaced due to uprooting. Dominic was very thorough and did and excellent job. I have read other negative reviews and feel oftentimes other customers do not listen to recommendations and have unrealistic expectations. I would reccomend them again.
