Tony was helpful and friendly in the store and always courteous and professional over the phone. The installers arrived on time and were also professional and courteous. I was a demanding customer, and Tony and his partner were patient with me. I felt my hallway had a noticeable seam at the top of the stairs. Tony sent installers to my house to work on the seam. They did a good job, even pulling the carpet taughter to diminish the seam. I was still uncomfortable with the look, so Tony's partner visited my house personally, noticing a couple inches on the end could use a little correction. He also spent the time to educate me why there is a seam near the stairs to begin with. (The materials cost would have been excessive otherwise.) Honestly, Tony and his partner really do care about customer satisfaction. I recently had a bad experience with a different contractor, and it has made me appreciate them even more!

We chose Carpet & Floor Express because of their high ratings on Angie's List and were not disappointed. Tony spent a lot of time with us in the store and was very helpful in discussing the pros and cons of each carpet type. He then brought samples to our house so that we could see the colors in the right light; he suggested never choosing colors directly in the store, and he was right. We carpeted the entire upstairs of our house. The carpet arrived on time and the installers completed the job on time. A week before having the carpet installed, we decided to also get some area rugs from remants in the store, and Tony did not charge us a delivery fee since he could have everything delivered on the same day and do the binding of the area rugs on site. We are extremely satisfied and would go back for any flooring need.

My salesman, Tony, was very helpful. He brought samples to my home so that I could see the colors with my rooms. He was very, very professional. I decided to replace 3/4 of the new carpet 2 months later and that was accomplished in the same professional manner. If you go see them, be sure and tell them you heard about them on Angie's List!

They were great about providing samples, scheduling the estimate, and installation, which was complicated by a our very large and heavy entertainment unit. They did a superb job at a fair price and we are very happy with the result.

Excellent experience. I was in a real hurry to prepare a room for rent in a very short time between when the room was vacated until the new person was moving in. I called Tony on Monday evening and told him I would try and get to the store before they closed, but because I was coming in from Virginia, I didn't know if I would be there by 7:30. He said he would stay open for me and he did. I had told him what I was looking for and that the carpet needed to be in the lower price range for a rental house. He had several good samples pulled and waiting for me when I arrived 5 minutes after closing time. I selected two in different price ranges and he arranged to have someone measure the house the next morning. He called me on Tuesday at noon with the measurements and estimates for the options we discussed. He lowered the installed cost of the more expensive carpet to a very competitive price without me even asking. We agreed to the price and selection and scheduled the installation for that coming Friday morning. The entire selection and pricing process probably took 15 minutes over two days and Tony was delightful in all respects. His crew showed up on Friday 1/2 hour later then he told me - but that wasn't too big a deal. The install crew got right to work, were respectful of the house and the tenants and completed the work in 5 hours. They cleaned up very well and the carpet installation looks fine. I am no judge of the details of a proper installation - but everything looks fine to the untrained eye. Tony mailed my credit card receipt and the paid invoice promptly and the process has been completed as smoothly as any home improvement project I have ever experienced. Thumbs up!

When I went to pick up the carpet they helped me load it into my truck. It was ready on time and was properly cut and bound. I am very happy with this carpet. I went to a lot of other carpet companies and they were the best.

Everything was as represented and completed in the time frame promised. We will use them again

Overall, a nice job, but slightly heavy-handed with the tile sealant. Tony was a pleasure to deal with.

Very easy process from start to finish. We went in, knowing reasonably well what we were looking for. Tony helped us out, and we chose the Everstrand carpeting from Mohawk. The quoted price per square foot includes all installation charges and removal/disposal of old carpeting. Tony came to the house the next day to measure, and gave us the final price at that point. We went ahead with the order, and the carpet was installed about a week later. My only complaint is that the carpeting seems uneven in places. I have not addressed this with Tony, because I wanted to wait and see whether the carpet/padding just needs time to settle.

Tony was fabulous and professional and didn't try to oversell, was on time, courteous and wonderful! I would definitely use them again!

Overall quality of the work is great. The hardwood looks and feels fantastic - like new! The carpet also looks and feels great - I was pleased to be able to purchase a "green" carpet (made with environmentally-conscious fibers) for a price that was competitive with other high-end carpets. That said, there are two areas that I think could be improved to make the overall experience worthy of an 'A:' (1) The hardwood team was a little sloppy in their cleanup. For instance - I arrived home when the job was complete to find some remaining toe molding outside my front door, in my bushes. I imagine they forgot to take it with them when they left. The team also left some lights on over night during the job, but we couldn't access the light switches to turn them off because the floor was wet with varnish. The carpet installation also team left fibers in the hallway and on my front lawn/driveway. (2) They quoted that the job would be complete by Wednesday, but when I arrived home Wednesday afternoon, the floor was still wet, and no one had called to give me a progress report that the job would take an extra few days. I don't mind waiting for quality work, but would have appreciated a more free-flow of information.

I went by his shop to get a price for new carpeting. He made several suggestions and tried to keep the price reasonable for me. He came by my house later to take measurements to give me the exact price. He was very professional. I gave him the deposit and we scheduled the date. The next day I called him because I changed my mind about which carpet I wanted. He was very patient and let make the change. His workers showed up on the day and installed the carpet. They did quality work in about 5 hours. I was very impressed.

At the store, Tony was extremely patient helping us with our flooring selection, allowing us to take samples home to consider, etc. He told us the approximate cost in the store, but scheduled someone to come for a site-visit to measure and give an exact quote. On the day of the installation, a team of two arrived, exactly on time. They were polite and professional, very efficient, cleaned up the the finished space, took all the debris away (old carpet and padding and the tack strips we had removed). They were working in a room that had just been painted and had new baseboard installed and freshly painted. They didn't mark up the walls or baseboard beyond a few very minor scuffs on the baseboard. I was provided with information on how to care for and clean my new floor. The installers were on the premises a total of four hours. We've had the floor for three months now and all is well.

We made a last-minute decision to install new stairway carpeting during a whole-house renovation. I chose a pattern from their showroom and they came to install it six days later. I now realize that I could have saved a few bucks by shopping around a bit more, but they offered a high-quality product, showed up at EXACTLY the time they had promised, and did a great job. In addition, I'm grateful to the man in charge for steering me away from a too-dark carpet and instead suggesting a slightly lighter shade with a subtle pattern. He was right and I'm glad we listened to him. He even followed up with a phone call after I left the store to clarify a typo on the receipt. That kind of expertise and professionalism may cost a few dollars more, but in the long run, it's was worth it.

We found the service to be good overall. Someone came out to confirm our measurements and were given a prompt estimate. Then we called to have the work done. The carpet layers were on time. They moved furniture out of the rooms and my only comment is that it might have been better if they asked us to move items from the floors. They shoved things into the closet and we couldn't find some of our belongings. If they had asked us to move our stuff, I would have given an "A" for quality. They did move the furniture back when they were done. It took less time to do the job than I thought so overall an "A".

I was surprised to be asked for my credit card in order to have the salesman come to my home and measure the area involved in order to get a definitive estimate of cost. However, like an idiot, I complied with this request without comment. I initially panicked at the thought that I was committing to both a stairwell and a kitchen floor replacement (my original plan) but the sales manager was very calm about changing my order -- I don't believe that any materials had yet been ordered -- and moving forward with the stairways alone. The installation went quite smoothly.

They made it a very easy experience. The installers were professional, neat, timely, and the carpeting looks great. Will definitely use them again.

We needed something quickly and it had to be inexpensive, and we got both. I have had runners installed in other homes, and have had much nicer results; however, in those cases, I was in a position to pay more and ask for more (by comparison, the perfectly done runner was over $1300, and this one was $450 tops). Considering what we paid, this company did a fine job. I would use them again under similar circumstances.

Sales experience was excellent. Salesman (Tony) was very knowledgeable and informative. The provided price was extremely reasonable, especially considering the quality of the product. A person was sent to estimate the job. Because of the number stairs in the job, the estimate went up. That also seemed reasonable. The job was estimated at two days. I arranged to be home from work for those two days. The installation team arrived on time and were unbelievably hard working all day long. The overall experience up to this point was outstanding! Unfortunately, the amount of carpeting ordered was not enough to finish the job. There were two wide stairs by the front door that remained with the old carpeting. The installers told me the news and said that I would hear from someone regarding finishing up the job. After two days I had not been contacted. I called the store. No one seemed to know what I was talking about. The fact that the job was not completed seemed to have fallen through the cracks. Within two weeks, the job was completed. I am overall delighted with the carpet and installation. However, the problem management and lack of follow-up was disappointing.

We learned about Carpet Express through Angie's list. We live in Virginia, but needed to re-carpet a condominium in Gaithersburg, Md. Our son and his wife were also moving to a new home in Gaithersburg, which was in need of new flooring and carpet. We visited Carpet Express together and decided it would work very well to buy carpet and flooring for both projects from this store. (See a June 4, 2010 review for information on the flooring and carpet installation). During our first visit to the store, Mr. Tony Pakzad, the owner, guided us in the selection of carpet; he also arranged to visit the site the next day to do the measurements. Subsequently, we visited the store again to select coordinating paint colors and to deliver a key; Mr. Pakzad was always courteous and helpful. Earlier this week, the carpet was installed; it is very well-padded and looks terrific . It was necessary to install carpet on a stairway, around a fire place hearth and throughout the living room/dining room, sunroom, hall, and two bedrooms. It was a very professional installation, which included removal of the previous carpet and installation of the new carpet. I would recommend Carpet Express for its efficient and timely service and its expertise in selecting and installing carpet. It did all this at a competitive price.

The owner gave us a great deal, beating other estimates and giving us a discount as he was doing our new house and my in-laws rental unit. He was able to give us a quote (on his day off), replace all of the flooring within the week, and all work was done in one day, before we had to move into the new house. He was friendly and personable. The installers were on time and completed the work very quickly. The finished product looks great - throughout. So far the carpet and floors that he recommended have stood up to our dog and cats and the movers, without a scratch or snag or anything. All of the installation looks crisp and clean. I would highly recommend Carpet and Floor Express.

They did a great job. Everything went well. There were no surprises. The process was clear. The estimator and installers showed up on time as scheduled. The installers were efficient. They knew what they were doing. I am very pleased with the result, and will hire the company in the future for any additional flooring work.

The experience was positive from start to finish. Tony was very helpful in directing us to carpet that would fit our specific needs. I brought him a floorplan and he estimated the sqaure yards of carpet needed and from that, an estimate of the overall cost. On the exact date we scheduled, another employee arrived on time to measure and show us samples of the carpet we had selected. This other employee was very patient with our color indecision and he explained the installation process, including the possibility that there might be a slight space between the carpet and the molding because the shoe molding would have to be removed to convert from hardwood to carpet. The installation team arrived right on time and worked throughout the day to complete the job. We have not noticed any problems with the carpet since it was installed 10 days ago. The final cost was about $100 less than Tony had originally estimated.

They were on time, professional and fine to be around. I had absolutely no problems with this company.

Time will tell the story as to long-term quality of the carpet, but for now (2 days after installation) we're very happy with the result.
