The guy who came to my house and fixed my garage door was great and did a fabulous job. The only reason for not giving him A's across the board is that he came to my house about 6 hours past the scheduled time. Moreover, no one at Capital Garage Door bothered to call me and tell me when he would finally get to my house. I must have called them about 5-6 times over the course of the afternoon and evening, but could never get a reasonable answer from anyone. The guy finally showed up around 9:00 PM which was far later than the scheduled time. The work he did was great, so I will likely use them again if I need help. But if they do not keep to schedule the next time, I will not give them a good recommendation and will find someone who is more reliable.

Everything on this deal was delivered as promised. Our garage door is working really smoothly again. Technician was very informative and great to work with!

I came home early from work in order to make the two hour window that I had to be available for. At the end of that time period, no one had yet arrived, so I called the office. The person on the phone told me the technician said he had been by the house and that no one was home. I asked her how he knew no one was home and she said he rang the doorbell and tried calling. Again, I was home during this entire time and had re-arranged my schedule in order to do so. I checked my phone to see if I had missed a call, and there were no calls. No one came by. So in addition to lying about it, they were unwilling to send someone back out, offering only to reschedule for sometime the following week. In essence, unprofessional liars who do not care at all about customer service. Be warned, these guys are charlatans

He told me that the door didn't need to be changed, just the opener. They were great, very friendly and answered all my questions.

Multiple times we set appointments that were of their choice. They NEVER showed on the day chosen at the appointed time. On the first house call after 3 or 4 missed appointments,the salesman arrived on the chosen day . But he came 4 or 5 hours past the selected time. He suggested that besides the stripping and molding we could get an electric opener for a couple of hundred more. He asked where our electric source was. We showed him a light switch for an outside light. So he wrote up an estimate. Then we made several appointments .All of which were no-shows. Once the technician called to say he was in traffic and would be late.. Never showed. Finally the technicians came 3 hours late. Did the 2 repairs and then installed the opener. Then he asked where our electric source was. We showed him the same light switch.(Our garage has no finished walls.) He said we needed an outlet. He called his boss(our salesman) who told him we were supposed to have had an outlet put in by an electrician. So their solution was that we should run an extension cord outside under the garage door, or out under the back door to reach the outlets on the outside of the house. One in the back and one in front.That would break the seal on each door . We'd have extension cords on the floor. That we said would be dangerous and a security risk. I called the salesman who said that I told him I was going to have an outlet put in. I said he never mentioned an outlet ,and we never discussed an outlet. I had showed him the light switch when asked about the electric source. He began to yell and scream at me .He said we would have to pay for it anyway. We told him to take it out as he had never told us we needed an outlet. So they removed the opener. After they left we went out to look at the repair and saw that the molding on top was not one piece. It ran short so they had one piece two thirds across the top and a second piece the last third. Not professional. We called and said we could take a picture but they said that was unnecessary. Again set up 3 or 4 appointments with them not showing. Finally he arrived , again hours late,but had the wrong color. Beige instead of white. So we set up more appointments , which they missed, and again came late on the appointment day. But finally it was done.It cost over $400. But the aggravation and rudeness and waiting were UNBEARABLE. I would caution anyone to NOT do business with them.

The service was quick and performed very well. My garage doors are both functioning significantly better and quieter. I was having problems with one of them consistently closing the first time the button was pressed and that problem has been solved. I am very happy with the service received from Capital Garage Doors.

They arrived on time. Sprayed the rollers with little investigation and left. I assume my rollers will last a little longer and I'm out $99.

Our garage door was 1990's old wood door and the Opener was also at the same age. It was finally stuck in the tracks and can't close, and my opener was always a problem as it randomly opens and closes by itself, and sometimes receives my neighbors' remote. Thursday around noon. I called Capital Garage Door, and they send the technician named Sergey. As my garage door was water damaged, couple of rollers already broken, and spring is in bad shape, I decided to replace rather than spending almost half of what a new door cost. Sergey provided me with the lowest quote for a insulated door and opener (I got two other quotes 2-3 weeks ago as I was planning to replace my Garage door). Sergey also offered that he come out as early as Today (Sunday in 3 days!) to install new doors and opener. Sergey was a very friendly and professional guy. He did a nice installation and hauled away all the debris and trash related to the job. I will definitely recommend Capital Garage Doors, Inc. to friends, neighbors, colleagues and all other Angie?s list members.

Capital Garage Door was excellent. I need to have them back to replace the spring a little bit later. They were on time, 7 o'clock in the morning which was wonderful. They did a very nice job, very presentable and professional. My interaction with them and the work turned out very good.

It all started well. I had a few quotes and David's was the most competitive, plus he was recommending a change of system that made a lot of sense. I didn't follow up immediately, but got calls every day from a number that looked like the main office, sometimes more than one a day (no voicemails were left). I picked up one day, just to say that it wasn't a good time to talk, but I was interested, and found the woman to be a bit abrupt. When I was ready to schedule, I called David (at the number on his card) but didn't get an answer, so I called the number on the estimate, and got a lady in the office. She answered with "garage door company", so I asked which one, as I'd been in contact with a few, and she confirmed that it was Capital. She had trouble finding my estimate, took all my details again, then said she could fit me in at the end of the week (Friday afternoon). It became evident from her manner that it was the same woman who had been calling me previously. David called me back right after and I told him I'd booked through the office, which seemed to surprise him, as he didn't see a record of my booking. I assumed it was in process, as I'd just got off the call. That Friday we waited until 5pm but no one came. My husband called David and he was very apologetic, had no knowledge of the appointment, and offered to come at 7pm, or in the morning at 8am. It wasn't a big deal, we had been told it was a two hour job. He and a colleague showed up at 8am and started work, but soon found that they needed tools/materials that they didn't have, so they headed out to get them (it took a couple of hours). They came back with a bar that was slightly too long, which we didn't discover until they'd hooked everything up. David had left at this point, leaving his young colleague to finish the job. This colleague decided to cut into one of the rafters of the garage, to stop the bar from catching :/ When my husband saw the missing chunk he suggested cutting the bar instead, but the technician didn't have a tool for that. It was 6pm by this point. The technician asked us if he could come back in the morning with the right tool, which was fine by us, but we weren't prepared to make payment until the job was complete. I guess his boss wasn't amenable to that plan, so he went and got the tool, came back, and finished up by around 8:30pm (it was dark). We felt bad for the technician, who didn't seem to have much experience with this type of job, and it was a long, hot day. Overall, we were happy with the work - the length of time it took wasn't an issue for us, and the door runs really well now. We just wish he hadn't cut into our garage rafter! The following Friday morning I got a call, from the main office, reminding me of my appointment later that day (4-6pm). I wasn't sure if I'd booked inadvertently with another company, so asked for more info (same lady, she didn't state the company name without prompting on any call). She didn't have my name, or address - even though she had called me - which I found suspicious. I didn't want to supply these details, given that I wasn't expecting any more work done, she put me on hold, then asked me who had done the job (was I sure it was capital, and who was the technician) and ended the call. Her telephone manner was unprofessional and off-putting, on all occasions. I assumed she'd called the wrong client. A couple of hours later another lady from the office (Barb?) called to remind me of my appointment that afternoon. She had a little info about the job, and it transpired that the 'missed' Friday appointment the previous week had in fact been wrongly scheduled, explaining the confusion. Honestly, the experiences with the technicians were pretty good - they came immediately to the 'missed' appointment, worked harder and longer than planned, and got the job done (with only slight damage caused) and for a good price. They were really personable guys too. It was the office experience that really put me off - there was such a disconnect that I questioned whether they were actually one and the same company.

I had a feeling that my garage door didn't need any service besides some lubrication...I didn't understand why they loosed and tightened the same screws around the frame which was perfectly firm, opened and closed the light fixture door....Maybe a need to show some work? I'd rather hear that everything was fine and pay the $59.00 for the lubricant.

Overall, I think the technicians did an ok job. My service got rescheduled multiple times and had to visit my house two times to finish the job. I wish they had a little more focus on making sure that things look good and making sure the costumer is 100 percent satisfied. I also found the service over priced.

They were great, the doors are great, they were knowledgeable and I was very happy with their work. He was good actually. He was very prompt and his practice was very reasonable so it was just fine. They did their work when it was supposed to be done.

Everything went well and would definitely use them again.

Pleasant gentleman. Did his job (I guess), he was only at my home for 10 minutes. An easy $60.
