ADDED NOTE AFTER RESPONSE FROM ALADDIN.....SHAME ON YOU! WE HAVE BOTH BEEN RESPECTFUL WITHIN OUR DISAGREEMENT OVER MY FLOORING. I AM TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED, BUT IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. BUT WHAT HURTS ME IS THE FACT THAT YOU SAID THAT TILE WAS PRESENTED AS AN OPTION WHEN I CAME TO YOU. THE ONLY TILE PRESENTED TO ME WAS A SMOOTH CERAMIC AND NOT THE TEXTURED PORCELAIN. I HAD NO IDEA THAT EVEN EXISTED. I REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A "FOR PROFIT" COMPANY, BUT TO GIVE OVER-EXAGGERATED PRICING AND THEN "GENEROUSLY" LOWER IT SO THAT I HAVE A DEAL, WELL....I WAS HOPING THAT I WOULD BE GUIDED THROUGH THE PROCESS WITH A TAD MORE EXPERTISE, BUT - THEN AGAIN - SHAME ON ME FOR BEING TRUSTING OF THE SALES PROCESS. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SEE PHOTOS OF THE FLOORING, PLEASE CONTACT ME AT karmicsight@yahoo.com I recently started a small dog-sitting business in my apartment - one dog under 20 pounds at a time. I realized that I needed to remove the carpet and install hard floors. Having a specific budget, I priced laminate and that seemed to be a viable choice. I had a representative from another company come for an estimate, but after reading the reviews of Aladdin Carpet and Tile I decided to call them. The salesman, Eddie, was very nice and I explained what I wanted. He had been with the company for many years and I trusted his judgment. He matched the quote I received from Empire and I contracted for the laminate to be installed. As other people said, the time I was given for the job was underestimated by 3 days, but that's not a big deal to me at all. What went wrong? 1. I contracted for an upgraded underlayment - and when I happened to walk in the room to see what they were using, it looked different. The installer said it was what I ordered. I called my salesman and it was confirmed that they were given the wrong underpayment by mistake. It was corrected. 2. I told Eddie that I had two dipped areas on my floor that would need some leveling and he confirmed that a mixed, leveling agent would be applied to even it out. The installers didn't know what I was talking about and said it would be OK. After the floor was installed, when you walked on the two spots you could literally see the flooring go up and down as you walked. The guys came back, removed the laminate and put newspaper under the two areas. That has created even more problems with adjacent spots. When I mentioned this to my salesman I was made to feel as if I was too picky. :-( 3. Each and every board of the laminate had a 1/2 inch film on both ends. When the sun shone on the floor, you could see it. I called Aladdin and they said they would call the manufacturer, which they didn't, so I called Mannington and was told that it happens with their manufacturing process. Say what???? FIX THIS PROBLEM AT THE FACTORY BEFORE PACKAGING THE BOARDS!! I was told to go and buy original Windex and rub the ends. I am a senior and have two new knees, so this is not feasible for hundreds of pieces of laminate. 4. Within a few days there were several scratches on the laminate from my 16 pound miniature poodle as well as a couple of chips. One chip was caused by an ice cube that fell from my freezer and another was from my TV remote falling. I stopped payment on the third payment to Aladdin until we could work this out and I immediately received a call from their accounting department saying that they wouldn't even come over to see my problems until I made that final payment. Totally wrong!!! Perhaps illegal? 5. I am terribly disappointed in the fact that the salesman did NOT recommend another type of flooring. Since this experience I found that porcelain tile would have been the way to go. I would have definitely opted for this. I was not offered a textured surface and was told that the medium gloss finish would be just fine for my dog. It isn't. He slips and slides and if he runs in the living room with his toys, he looks like Fred Flinstone with his feet going fast as he goes nowhere! 6. I mentioned to Eddie and his supervisor that my vet - which is a quarter of a mile from my development- has the perfect flooring. With a ton of animals going in and out, their laminate is a commercial grade and looks brand new after 3 years! Not once did they go to see it. 7. When the assistant installer was staining the edging to the floor, he did a 5 foot piece much darker. I mentioned it to him and he laughed and said it would be covered by my couch. Huh????? 8. When the same young man dropped a piece of machinery on the floor and chipped it, he told me to cover it up with a magic marker. Huh??? 9. When I asked why the edging in my sunroom wasn't painted to match the flooring out there, Eddie said that he knew I was on a budget and couldn't afford it so he didn't budget for it. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 15 FEET TO MATCH THE STONE-LOOK LAMINATE. How embarrassing was that! OK.....in their favor they tried to offer me a deal to make me happy. I was asked to come into the tile part of their company and choose a tile to put in the main space where the dogs have been scratching the floor. I went in and was told to choose from three samples they had of the porcelain tile. I was ecstatic!!! As I was walking out after choosing a tile, I saw one on their floor that was PERFECT for what I would need. It had texture, a great color and it was in stock. I was so happy I drove across the street and cried. Yes!!! A floor that would work!! Awhile later I get a call from Anthony saying he had great news for me. Do you want to hear the great news? For the small price of $9,125, I could have my living/kitchen area tiled. This is under 600 feet. I was shocked! He said it was a discount from over $13,000. It was a gift that I should accept immediately. I asked if I could call him right back and I got on the phone with a couple of super reputable tile companies in Rockville. Both of them laughed and said that the deal was ludicrous! I passed. I was emotionally spent! I was so happy and then totally let down. So for over $15,000 I would have laminate in my bedroom and sun room and tile in my living area. Over 15 grand! So here I am with not horrible floors, but scratched and chipped floors nonetheless. Floors that are uneven. Floors that have film on every board. Believe me when I say that I am usually not difficult when it comes to contractors. I had my bathroom tiled and I am happy. I had my tub reglazed and I'm happy. I had my balcony enclosed to make a sunroom - by Thompson Creek - and I am happy. I had a 12' sliding door installed and I am happy. With Aladdin I feel as if I was totally misled and manipulated and made to feel that my complaints were my fault. Yes, they matched a price for laminate, but it would have been nice to have been told it wouldn't fit my needs.

This was an excellent experience. We highly recommend the salesman, Sasan Abedi, who case-managed our project. We had workmen in our home for roughly a week. Each step of it was well managed and well executed to keep us as comfortable as possible in our home while the work was being done. We wanted thick, soft carpeting for the bedrooms and finished basement area; a beautiful hardwood for the main floor, and a high quality kitchen tile. We got all of these. The installers get high marks from us for the quality of their work, their perseverance and desire to please. The hardwood is stunning. We had originally planned on putting a carpet runner up the hardwood stairs leading from the main floor to the third floor, but when it was finished the stairs were so beautiful, we didn't want to cover them at all. Our installer, Miguel ,had cut wood to fit not only each step, but also the back area for each step, which is usually just painted white. The stairs are stunning. The carpet and tile flooring were also beautifully installed. We did have some concerns (a threshold piece that was not nailed down well enough; marks on the kitchen tile that we didn't know how to remove), but Sasan and Miguel were back immediately to resolve these issues. And now we love our floors!

We bought the Angie's List Big Deal for installation of new wood floors in 2 rooms that had very ugly carpet (leftover from previous owners of our house). Sarsan came to our house and took measurements and explained the whole process. We also wanted to install carpet on the stairway and 2nd floor - to replace old carpet. I went to the Aladdin store to pick out the carpet and padding. They had many choices, and Sarsan was very knowledgeable and helpful in finding several samples for me to look at in my home. When his crew came to put in the new wood floor in the 2 rooms downstairs, they took up the old carpet and found underneath....hardwood floor! It would not have made sense to put in new hardwood, so I called Sarsan to see if we could instead just re-finish the existing floors. I was worried that b/c I had purchased an Angie's List Big Deal that I might lose money or have to pay a lot more, but Sarsan worked it out to where I ended up paying only slightly more than the Big Deal amount. The carpet installation upstairs went extremely well - I wasn't home while it was being installed, and when I came home, it was as if the new carpet had been there all along - no mess, no smell (well, a little bit of new carpet smell), and it looked beautiful. Same for the polishing and staining of the hardwood floors in the 2 rooms- very professional crew who were extremely careful with moving the furniture out of the rooms and back in (including having to take apart a very old, large 4 poster bed). There was absolutely no mess, no dust, and no scratch marks on the walls or anywhere else. They were extremely polite and professional. Overall I am very pleased with the work and would definitely hire Aladdin again.

The price was high for the estimate. They did a very thorough job and they were good about explaining everything.

The provider came over to assess the work and said that the work would be much higher in price because furniture would need to be moved around (I offered to do that myself). He was indignant that I wanted the deal honored and insisted I would owe the company considerably more money in order to have the deal honored at all. I felt like this was a "bait and switch" and had no interest in working with this provider further.

It's been two years but I am still pleased with the job they made. The floor was in terrible condition, it was a 25 year old home and it was the original flooring but I still look at it every day. I am so happy that it was done. It was a very large entry way about 15 x 5. This is a messy process but he took care, hung up plastic sheeting all around my fourier so that the dust and mess was completely contained in the room he was working on. I don't know how he managed to breathe in there but he did. After that they did a very good clean up.

Everything turned out excellent. They turned the whole floor around and we get so many compliments on it. There were 2 -3 people to do the work and I had five rooms done. They came two different times to do the work since we had to move furniture and it took a total of 6 days to complete all the work. I was satisfied with the price for the amount of work they did for me.

Good guys, good work. Forgot the price, maybe $700 (but this was a Groupon promotion).

It went well. They cleaned very well afterwards.

They wee great. They were prompt. They did a good job. They put a tarp up.from room to room so the dust wouldn't go into the other rooms. They were very good and I would use them again.

The price included the moving of furniture. They worked fast and quiet and finished in less than one day. We were very impressed with their service.

They did a beautiful job! They were fast, neat and skilled! I would recommend them highly!

All went well and I am satisfied with the work.

The installers were pleasant, spoke good English, worked efficiently and well. I was a bit surprised by the final price, but the job looks more difficult than I realized. The selection of carpets beyond the one offered in the special was not quite as broad as I'd hoped.The salesman is conscientious and follows up thoroughly

On or about Wednesday, January 22, I sent a message to Aladdin Carpet via Angie's List. I was called the next day by Sasan, who offered to come to my house the next evening. He came with a binder of photos of different woods. At the time I wasn't sure whether I would go with laminate or hardwood. He gave me a quote for laminate of approximately $2000, and a quote for hardwood above $3000. I asked him about the special offered on Angie's List for $1199 for 200 sq. ft. He estimated my floor area to be 290 sq. ft. He came back the next day with samples, and adjusted his quote to $2400. The doubling of the price was because of the extra 90 sq. ft., which he said went for the regular full price. I accepted the price and we made an appointment for the following Thursday (1/31). A crew of two showed up onetime -- Sergio and Francisco. They put in a good 10 hours of good, diligent, and skillful work. The floor looks better than I ever could have imagined. My grading of B for price, instead of A, is because there was about 10-20 sq. ft. of wood more than was needed, which represents over $100. But as you see, I am very happy with this job and would go to Aladdin first for any future work.

We were attracted by a Big Deal offer. Price was verrrry competitive, staff was very good to deal with (on-time, easy-going, trustworthy), and the installation team did a great job. Once we picked the product and set the installation date everything worked like clockwork.

We just had to pay for the labor the 2nd time.

They were great, we just will not be getting the Big Deal done. We found espestice underneath the tiles and that was unexpected. They tried to work around that and find a compromise. In the end we could not but they were helpful.

It was in response to a good deal promotion. I am very pleased with the quality of the work, the manner in which I was treated as a customer, and the overall responsiveness of the folks at Aladdin. I would/will use them again.

Very good. Three guys were professional and very clean. They called to keep us informed prior to the job. The expert, Ricardo, came to the house in advance to see what exactly was needed and explain what he could and could not do. They let us pay $200 less to move furniture ourselves in advance. Ricardo was able to blend the new stain with old stain into the edge of rooms we didn't want to redo. They hung plastic on all entryways to diminish dust in the house, and had equipment to blow air on walls afterward to clear off the dust. They kept things relatively clean, considering sanding brings up a lot of dust.

They showed up when they said they would, did the work in the time they said they, and did a beautiful job. The floors are oak and they finished them to show the natural color. I surprised what a difference the floors make in the looks of the house.

Aladdin replaced damaged carpet in basement. They did an outstanding job. The salesperson and the installers were professional and thorough. I will definitely use Aladdin again, and highly recommend them.

Scheduling was very good and they were very prompt. It went very well and we were very pleased. The job took about 2 days. They used sheeting and did their best to control the spread of their dust. We were happy with their efforts to minimize the dust and debris. The quality of the refinishing was excellent.

I received an estimate to have our carpets stretched and to have our hardwood floors sanded/refinished. The price for the carpet stretching was $250 and the work was performed on 12/24/13. The sanding/refinishing of the hardwood floors was in two separate areas of the house and totaled about 300sf. We were able to use an Angie's List Deal ($550) for the floors and had to add about $200 for the shoe moldings and moving of stove and refrigerator. I emailed the company for an estimate and received a call the same day. We arranged for an onsite estimate two days later. Sasan, who performed the estimate, was punctual and professional and discussed my options and price breakdowns for the the wood floors and carpet. The carpet work was performed by Miguel and one of his colleagues. They arrived on time on the morning of 12/24. The job took about 3 hours and the areas of carpet that were wrinkled were completely resolved. The work required that they reapply some carpet seams and the work was flawless. They cleaned up all of the materials and vacuumed the rooms in which they worked. Overall, outstanding service and work. I highly recommend them. Our floors were sanded/restained on 1/30, which was well with in the window of time that Sasan had originally promised the work to he have been done. Edgardo and two others arrived on time Monday morning and draped the area that they were sanding to contain the dust. They showed me a few samples stains from which to choose. They were able to complete the work in one day and the floors look like new. There was minimal dust residue on a couple of cabinets in the kitchen, but overall the work was very clean. Again, the work was outstanding and I would not hesitate to recommend Aladdin to others and I would definitely use them again.

I had purchased this deal for my mother-in-law, as a gift. During the estimate process, it was determined it would cost about $800 more, in addition to the price of the deal. The extra is was to remove/replace boards (pet stained), remove/replace 1/4 round trim, moving of furniture, etc... Personally, I had used Aladdin for a rather extensive project. Their service was pretty good. I contacted them today, and they were most professional and polite in how to request a refund for this deal.
