+ 1 moreIt went great. And I love the vanity. The countertop is what does it though - a beautiful Italian Marble. Top notch materials with very helpful and professional service. The only reason I would not use them again is because I think the price was a little high. After the initial visit, I thought I would be spending around $1K and ended up spending quite bit more by the time it was all said and done. But if you are looking for high end materials, I would recommend them. UPDATE - Vendor is right, I had originally put $2800 as the cost, which was wrong. I meant to put $1800, but that was still more than I had planned on spending initially based on some other prices I got. But again - no complaints - I love the vanity and top.

+ 0 moreOn balance we would recommend ABKA, and have done so, for countertop work. I am still disappointed over the broken granite, though the one we ended up with is lovely. We would not, however, recommend their kitchen design service, though perhaps they are a bit more experienced by now. When we asked what had happened to the original designer we were given 3 different stories, all of them different from the one given to us by the designer himself.
Description of Work: On the recommendation of a friend we went to ABKA to choose the granite countertop for our new kitchen. They had a number of slabs that we liked, but found one that we just loved. This was in October. We were not in a position to start work straight away on the kitchen and so put a deposit on our slab and they held it for us. Three days before ABKA were due to come and fit the granite they called to tell me that they had managed to drop it and smash it to pieces. I was devastated. We loved this granite. There were only 2 slabs and we needed both. I was told they had another piece that was similar, but a higher grade of quality. They were prepared to let us have this at the price of the lower grade, and we accepted. On installation day the crew arrived on time and did a great job on the installation. However, they (and I) forgot about the hole that was required for the push button for the waste disposal. They came back and fixed that, and attached the dishwasher to the countertop (our contractor installed all the appliances and did all the plumbing. ABKA also offer a kitchen design service, and as we preferred to have all our eggs in one basket we worked with them on the design. We were very happy with the design they came up with and the cost, and were just about to sign on the dotted line and hand over money when we discovered that the designer no longer worked for ABKA, but was working for himself. An internet search came up with very little that was good, so we pulled the plug. We decided not to use the new ABKA designer and started searching again. In retrospect it may well have turned out OK, but we were not prepared to take the risk.

+ 0 moreWe spent $ 1400 on that work. We went there and picked out a slab of granite and they make here and measured the countertop in my bathroom where the granite was going to go. They held the granite slab until the contractor working at the house was ready for it. They fabricated the countertop with two sink cut outs and holes for the faucets. Then, they came and delivered and installed the granite countertops. We wanted a good slab of granite with a lot of things going on in it and that meant that we go and look at all these different granite slabs. In most places they installed had to buy the whole slab and make the necessary holes and cut outs in it. You have to pay for the whole slab, even if you are only going to use half of it, but these guys actually do it all. They have a nice yard with all these different granite slabs in it and even do the fabrication, delver it and install it. We were very happy to find them and we thought that they were very forth coming and we would highly recommend them. They were very responsive, punctual and were highly professional. They did their job just right and I could not ask for more.

I had a lot of problems with the cabinet contractor (I had to redo an entire section and hire someone else) which caused a lot of stops and starts to the countertop. Abka was so patient and accommodating. I think I had Abie on speed dial! Abie first showed me the basic, less expensive countertops to try to keep me in budget, but I spied one that I liked better and she immediately warned me that it was more expensive. I also wandered around the yard full of slabs to satisfy myself that I had picked the one that I wanted. Yes, I ended up with the expensive one, but it looks awesome, and will be there for so many years to come. Installation was professional, people were on time for measurements and installations (this had to be done in two stages because of the carpenter problem). I really, really recommend this company.

Once I made my selections, I recieved an estimate in a timely manner. The cabinets arrived within the expected time. They renovated my kitchen in less than 8 days and were out of the house with a great job and quality work. Their new workers were efficient, clean, and professional. The job was managed properly and the work was done with quality in a timely manner. I love my new cabinets and countertop. The cabinetry design and quality are great. I highly recommend them to prospects.

+ -1 moreI didn?t use their services to get the work done and I would not recommend them. It was hard to find a sales person. Then we found one and tried to work with him but he never got back to us. So we were very unimpressed and it was terrible. He never even responded and that?s why I would never use them.

+ 1 moreAfter sending out bids to several companies, I chose ABKA because of their (a) price and (b) because two friends highly recommended them. Vadood was my main contact and we corresponded via email throughout the whole process, which made my life much easier. When it came time to pick-out our slab - he was very helpful and made the process pretty painless. On installation day - they showed-up time, removed our old counters, installed the new ones, and mounted the sink in a matter of hours... It looks awesome and I couldn't be more happy - definitely give them a call if you're looking to upgrade your kitchen... =)

+ 0 moreIt worked out very well...the instalation was a little shaky but it worked out in the end. There was a miscommunication at first, but in the end they did ok. They chipped a windowsill above the sink, and our other contractor fixed it for us. The process of buying it went well, and they were very friendly. They sent out plumbers that were very friendly and helpful. They also referred me to someone else that could put in tile for me.

+ -1 morePurchased a small piece of granite for power room sink base. Outside, in the back, they have small to medium sized pieces of granite left over from jobs that did not use full slab. We found a beautiful piece the exact size we needed. They came by to measure, custom cut slab, delivered and installed. No issues and in fact they did a great job making the granite fit against the uneven wall. I would recommend.

+ 0 moreABKA seriously dropped the ball in providing an estimate to us for kitchen cabinets. It took 2 visits to the showroom and 3 calls over 3 1/2 weeks to get a quotation. Their sales performance was disorderly and was cause for concern for their ability to deliver product. Although the person who talked to us about granite was ok, the problems from the cabinets side of the store cause enough concern to go to another supplier.

+ 1 moreWe visited the showroom on Monday and made our selections. The ABKA measurement man made his measurements on Tuesday. The work was scheduled for Thursday. Thursday afternoon the ABKA crew arrived and began work. They were finished by early that evening. Apparently, the plumbers were late or they would have been done earlier.
Description of Work: Replaced existing kitchen countertops with granite and installed a new undermount sink and new faucet. Also replaced a bathroom vanity top with granite and installed a new undermount sink and new faucet.

+ 0 moreTina the saleswoman's smile and helpfulness in the showroom was perfect. She showed us the granite options in our price range and gave us a deal on the sink and faucet. We paid the deposit and set up the schedule. We had to change the schedule twice and Tina was fabulous and accommodating. The countertop installation team arrived a little late but did an excellent job of installing the countertop and sink and calked up the splashguard very nicely to the wall. The advantage of using a firm like ABKA is that they cut the stone themselves and thus can install it within a week of measuring. The big boxes cannot do this from what I understand. This was critical to us as the countertop was pretty much the last thing to put in to allow us to move back into our house and have a kitchen again (we did a full gut / remodel on the kitchen). Highly recommended.
Description of Work: New granite countertops in new kitchen. Recommended by GC Fairchild Construction for their quick turnaround and quality.

+ -1 moreI called them when this broke, they came out and removed blocking. The rep unhooked the dishwasher, and the hose which went to the disposal. When the sink would go on, water would just pour directly into the cabinet. Not even coming through the faucet, straight into the cabinet. I had a plumber come out to fix this. Abka told me they would pay for it. They have yet to. Not only did they mess up initially, but they did not reimburse me for my plumbing expense due to their failure. The plumbing was $50. Not sure on initial price for installation, but somewhere between $3,000 and $5,000.
Description of Work: They came out to replace the granite in our kitchen once we purchased our home. The first mistake was a seam placed over the dishwasher, which is not supported. The seam began to sag. I brought it to their attention, they came out and had to add some blocking. They told me that they blocked in our dishwasher. They said it could cause problems when dishwasher breaks.

When I arrived to approve the slab, the showroom staff were professional and courteous. My estimate was already filed with all the details I had provided over the phone. Extremely organized and efficient staff. The templating staff arrived at the designated day and time and were also very efficient. The installation staff arrived on time two days later and were very meticulous and professional. Overall, an excellent experience.

+ 1 moreThis company is quality all the way. The company was recommended by my contractor to install granite in a rental property that is undergoing renovation. I went out to the showroom and picked out the granite that I wanted. The representative at the showroom was very knowledgeable and helped me make the right decisions. Someone from the company came out and took measurements and a few days later the granite was installed. The installation was quick and professional. The kitchen looks awesome . . . better than I could have expected. I plan to use this company again to install granite in my own house. The installer (Patricio - sp?) was wonderful. He had a great sense of humor and clearly takes pride in his work.

+ 3 moreFrom start to finish ABKA did a fantastic job. The sales person was very helpful, I was able to walk the lot and choose the exact granite I wanted. They held it until my cabinets were installed, about a month, and were able to install less than three days after I informed them the cabinets were ready. I also purchased my sink and faucet from them as their prices were very fair and the quality of the products was better than other places I had looked. The installers were very professional, they showed up exactly when they promised and they did an incredible job. Could not have been an easier process.

+ 0 moreThis was the most professional, pleasant experience we've had in a long time. From picking out our slab of granite to installation took two weeks. The whole experience was wonderful, but the installers (there were 3 of them) were amazing. From the minute they arrived at my home, they were very polite and concerned about my property. They asked me to move my car so it wouldn't get dust on it, put down drop clothes in the kitchen, vacuumed behind the stove, and swept the floor when they were done. It took them 2 hours to remove the old countertops, disconnect the waterlines, and install the granite. Needless to say, the kitchen looks amazing, and we're thrilled.

+ 1 moreInitial visit to the showroom was great. We were allowed to walk around the granite yard and look at what was available. Salesperson was helpful but allowed us the time and space to think and talk with each other. Once we had decided upon a slab, measurement was done the next day and installation was done within the week. We went back to order a faucet, but it did not come in as promised prior to installation so we ended up purchasing from another vendor. Installation was done well and quickly. Removal of old counters was done with minimal damage to the walls. Installers cleaned up after themselves. Installers were over an hour late for the visit but called frequently to let us know about the delay and where they were (it was a weekday at rush hour in the DC area). Counters look great, polished with cuts that were right on.
Description of Work: Measured for new countertops. Removed old Formica counters and installed new granite counters and stainless sink.

+ 1 moreIt was a very good experience. We worked with Vadood, who was helpful and responsive throughout the process. The installers were scheduled to arrive between 9 am - 12 noon, and arrived about 11:15 am. They were pleasant and courteous and got the job done in under 4 hours. We were pleased with their workmanship, including the finishing touches such as caulking. The only small problem that came up was that they forgot to bring one of the pieces of the backsplash, so they had to return the following day with the missing piece. This was not a big deal. They dont do plumbing work so we hired a plumber to re-hook up the faucet, dishwasher, and garbage disposal the following day. We are very happy with the beautiful countertop.

+ -1 moreThe granite selection was good. The installation was good. They needed to use more slabs to get a good finished product and didnt. The installation was so good it is workable. They did not explain that an electrician was needed to hook up the stove afterward so I couldnt us the stove for a while. The final cost was a lot more due to the final measurement versus the initial measurement, which was strange since it was the same person. Was an OK experience.

+ -1 moreAlthough we canceled the order, we found the staff of Abka to be very helpful and professional. They took time to show many designs of granites and were willing to work with us on all fronts. After we selected a different stone (another vendor), we had to cancel the order at Abka but that does not reflect anything about their quality of work and professionalism. They processed the refund (advance towards canceled order) promptly and were very helpful.
Description of Work: We canceled the order, as after additional search we found a stone that suited the color, etc. of our kitchen better than what we had picked up at Abka.

+ -1 moreGreat! I really shopped around, and found them to be the least expensive of four installers. They allowed me to select my slabs (I needed 2), came and measured, enabling me to add some more surface area to my island. The installers were prompt, careful, amenable to my suggestions when they encountered a minor difficulty with our telephone table, and they left the place fairly clean. For the amount of cutting they had to do, I suffered very little dust!
Description of Work: They removed 94 square feet of old counter-tops and installed new granite counter-tops.
