I don't like being charged for travel time before starting. Other than that, this was a very good move. The crew was excellent - diligent, careful, responsive, polite. The 8 hr estimate Josh gave me was honest and accurate. They came on time and worked hard. I like that all materials are included in the labor rate. And I haven't discovered any damage. Very professional.

Moved my college graduate daughter out of her apartment and back home 150 miles away. 495 Movers were highly professional, carefully wrapping each piece of furniture with thick protective paper padding and then with plastic wrap. They created special cardboard protective containers for the TV and paintings. They unloaded into a storage facility near our home, and were very strategic in their placement of the items on top of each other to maximize the use of the storage space. I would gladly use this company again.

Very professional and efficient with loading your belongings. I would recommend them for people that want a no fuss no muss type of move. My only recommendation would be to have two people to help direct where items go in your new location.

It is not often that I take the time to write a review, however, I felt compelled to do so given the consistently exceptional moving and customer service I have received from 495 Movers on two occasions.My first experience with 495 Movers was in 2016 when I moved from DC to Bethesda. The move was worry free from start to finish from the initial call with Tom Osprey who explained the entire process to me in full user friendly detail to the delivery of boxes, tape and packing material to my home to the packing, transport and reassembly of my furniture in my new place. The move was comparably priced (if not a little less) than other moving services, and quoted as a flat rate which I loved. Additionally, with 495 movers, you get so much more value all around given the courtesy, professionalism and efficiency of the team and one certainly cannot put a price tag on excellence. Because of my first wonderful experience with Tom and the 495 movers Team in 2016, when I needed to move from DC to New York this year, I did not even consider researching another moving service. I reached out to Tom and once again, he was extremely responsive, professional and customer focused as were the gentlemen who picked up my items in MD and those who delivered them safely to NYC. While I have moved several times previously, I have never had such a good experience with movers. For this reason and many others, I highly recommend 495 movers without reservations and I am confident that if you select them to do your move, you, too will receive exceptional worry free service.

It was a long (15 hour) local move about 50 miles. The team was skilled, efficient and professional throughout. It was a partial move from a large house to a smaller one with not everything being moved, so precise planning was important. Also a one-day move was important to our schedule. The other company we interviewed wanted to do it in two and use different teams. We preferred this approach. We had many high-value, awkward art pieces and they were on top of the packing for all of them, recommending a wooden case in one instance. Truck, packing and wrapping materials (except for the wooden case) were included in the hourly labor rate so no hidden extras. We took extra insurance which was expensive but insurance always looks expensive if you don' have a claim. They did two pre-surveys, one by the marketing guy and one by a senior team leader to be sure they had a good plan. The team was four and in hindsight could have used five but they got it done. They were not inexpensive but we had a lot of art and antiques that couldn't be replaced or easily repaired if damaged. I would recommend them for a high-value move, just insist on the proper pre-planning. If you work with them throughout the day you get excellent value since they are willing to do whatever you ask. In addition to the move they repositioned several large pieces in both houses.

All was going well, with the move. I took longer than expected,but ok. 2 reasons why i will not recommend them. The lead gave me paperwork and pointed sign here and here. I read before I sign so i had a concern on a statement and asked for clarification. He had to call the supervisor to explain it. Ok supervisor clarified all good but I do not like that he could not explain the service he was pointing me to sign. 2nd thing. As the move is finishing up, one of the laborers pointed to some empty boxes(boxes they did not move) and asked "is this trash?" I said "yes" he picked up the trash and carried it out. I thought WOW mad cool. Because he did not have to do this. I'll definitely make sure I keep this in mind when I'm tipping. All good. I sign paper work. I pay the lead give them all a tip. Later, i discovered that the guy just threw my trash (discarded boxes) my front yard. Packing foam all over my front lawn. LIVID!!! Just disrespectful. I will not use them again they cost about the same as other moving companies.

I can't recommend this company enough. From beginning to end these guys made sure we had everything we needed. They made sure to move everything carefully and quickly. Every person we interacted with was professional and helpful.

They were great!!! my furniture was in storage - I gave them a key and they delivered as promised to a New York apartment! I would definitely use them again and wholeheartedly recommend them.

Three men came on time and worked hard all day, shrink wrapping our furniture and moving it to storage. Highly recommend them.

The movers were fantastic! They arrived on time and was very careful with my belongings. If prior damage existed in my items it was pointed out to me. I would however recommend getting an estimator to come to your home vs receiving the estimate over the phone as my move ended up costing $300 more than my quote. This could of been avoided by getting an in home evaluator. Overall, excellent customer service from Eugene and the entire moving squad. All my items arrived safe. Thank you!

Great customer service. I would have given the entire 5 stars except I found boxes in wrong places. A few of the guys when they were not sure just left the boxes and didn't ask. I work for a distribution company and this was some of the best wrapping and packing I have ever seen.

We haven’t moved yet and I will update this review when we do but just the initial conversation and follow up has been fantastic. I am looking forward to working with them.

The estimate was very close to the actual cost. Everyone I spoke with was very professional and we were very happy with the entire experience.

They showed up a little early, which was wonderful!! They were dressed in uniforms, looked professional and did an amazing job. Moving 50+ boxes and very heavy furniture pieces out of one house and into a four story townhome, without any damage to walls, furniture or floors. A+++++ wonderful price and good attitudes in extreme heat.

it was very good the men sent with the truck did an excellent job . If I need to move more items I would use them again

The team arrived on time and worked very efficiently in packing up the truck. They worked very hard to get all the furniture and boxes in the right rooms and did not need to be told more than once of my wishes. They were friendly and worked hard all day. In the end it cost less than the estimate since they worked quickly and we ended up not needing the 2nd truck. I would highly recommend this moving company and will use them again if I have need.

The staff at 495 were very professional and efficient, and friendly. They were easy to contact and responded quickly. Pricing was very competitive, I loved that they included boxes and paper, and delivered it as we needed it, this was so helpful during the crazy process of moving. In particular, Josh was terrific as our moving consultant! I would definitely use the again.

In the last five years I have moved 4 times, once from Italy to UK in Europe, twice in London, once from Europe to US and most recently from VA to MA with 495 Movers. I have seen and dealt with some very average moving companies, some very good ones – but none reaching the service, quality and can do attitude of 495 movers. This company has the standards and the way of operating way beyond its competitors. I always do my due diligence and take the time to understand the quotes and hidden extras – moving is stressful enough, and you don’t want to deal with increasing costs at various steps of the move. The owner of 495 movers came by to do a thorough inspection and inventory check. I was provided with a flat fee quote – meaning the cost is fixed price and no increases will be introduced to this. It was not the cheapest to start with - and they were transparent about this, but read the little print of the other quotes, align the offers and calculate the potential additional costs – once you have done the math you will figure out there are two ways of doing business: The transparent upfront style and the low quote – hidden costs way. I read the evaluations, and made a decision. 495 movers delivered exactly what was promised, the team arrived on time – to be exact half an hour early at 7.45 on a Wednesday morning and started their work. The team was friendly, professional – disassembled the furniture and packed everything with great care, loaded everything to the truck with a professional can-do attitude – and completed the job in a record time. They departed from DC area the same afternoon and delivered to Greater Boston area the following morning at 9.30 AM. They unloaded the truck, had to carry some larger furniture to the fourth floor, assembled the furniture. Unloading was done with the same efficiency and polite professional can do attitude. Everything arrived unscratched, there was no damage. I have never dealt with another moving company which has made moving so stress free, pleasant and straightforward as 495 movers did. The only reason I give them 5 stars is that you can’t go beyond that.

On time, efficient, professional - excellent experience

I used 495 movers to move my household from Maryland to Georgia back in October. The move was perfect thanks to this moving company. They packed and shipped all of my furniture, framed art, extensive book collection, to Georgia within 2 days - and I had a lot of furniture and other items! I did not have to worry about any aspect of the move. There were no hidden costs sprung on me at the last minute , which is what lot of other moving companies do. The movers were professional, polite and on time. Luis was so professional and responsive in facilitating all of the details of the move and Freddie, David, Paul and the rest of the crew worked very hard to pack, and ship my things in Maryland and then deliver, unpack and set-up all of my furnishings in the Georgia home. They did not leave my new home until I was happy with the delivery, set-up and placement of the furniture. I had occasion to do business again with the company just recently and again, they did an awesome job. If you want to take the stress out of a long (or short) distance move, use 495 movers - you will be happy you did!
