I would use Driftwood again, all of our plants are doing fine, almost four months after their planting, and the landscaping looks great.
Horrible - would not advise anyone that they are a A+ company a A+ company would not have left my yard in the condition they did and expect the homeowner to stay on top of them to get it cleaned up - The fact that this business has a A rating is something I could not believe - I have had contractors do exterior work before and did not even know that workers were their not true with this company and never would have they dreamed of asking a neighbor to use a yard to get to the house next to them to do their contracted job that should have been my first sign they were not A+ company and the fact that we gave them the OK to use our yard was a bad judgment call on our part but was promised it would be fix to our satisfaction and never being done should have been my second clue they are not a A+company - this company has no ownership of work performed just excuses -#1 weather can not work in the rain but we can run the bob cat in the rain to get the neighbors dirt out of their way and use my yard to go back and forth several time (weather was not a problem than) - #2 yard looks OK to me not really that bad -#3 will be back in the spring to complete (right need to wait a whole season)for completion -#4 cost too much to get sod at this of the year and would need to purchase more than I need (when did that become my problem) -#5 owner admitting workers should have never ran a bob-cat in the rain which is why the yard was torn up they way it is and what could my workers been thinks about when they did that - #5 tell me that I freaking out over nothing ( and it will be taken care of )and yes what a promise but on their time schedule not mine
"Mr. and Mrs. (removed member name) are neighbors on a customer we did work for. A lot of what they are stating is not accurate or just completely untrue. I have responded to them the day they called and let them know we would be back out. It is November and when it rains we cannot get screened topsoil for at least a couple days. They seemed to be fine with this and then called one day yelling on the phone. They also don't realize that they trashed their neighbors on my voice mail and was saying some very mean and derogatory things about them. They are completely inaccurate in terms of us starting the neighbors project on time. The customer changed the project a few times prior to us starting and we asked if it was ok to push their project back a few weeks to take care of another project we were on. Our customer was completely ok with this. I have spoken to the Moran's landlord and she was completely understanding of the situation and the resolution."
First, when they installed the fountain, they never gave me the manual for it (they threw it away!). So I never was informed on how to take care of it. I emailed and called the guy constantly, but it usually took many days to weeks before I would ever get a response back from him. Usually, it was something along the lines of "I'm looking into it" or "I've called the guy and he's going to send the manual soon". I never did get the manual for that fountain. However, he eventually sent me a manual to a fountain...however it wasn't my fountain. When I told him of this, he stated that this manual would have the same information...that my manual would have. However, it was just a spec sheet and no info was included with it. Very frustrating.
Also, there were some existing dwarf blue spruces in the area they were going to re-landscape. I wanted them to save one of them as it had sentimental value (it was our first Christmas tree in the house). They tore it out of the ground, didn't replant it right away, and once they did get it in, it started dying on me. Nothing I could do would save it. It's now just a dead husk in the front of the house that I will have to replace soon.
Finally, there were the issues I had (and still have) with thistle plants. I had a bad case of thistle plants in the front of the house that they were supposed to get rid of. The initially did, but it didn't last. They came back. I had been told by them that I would be getting a visit from a speciallist that would take care of the issue. That has not come to pass. I got the feeling that he had my money and now didn't care what happened.
All in all, I would not go back to these people. Once the job is done, they are done with you. Beware!
"This is the first I am hearing of any of this other than the manual. I reached out to the vendor we received the fountain from and they sent me a link with the manual. I then forwarded this to Mr. [removed member name] and assumed everything was fine. In terms of the tree, we made it known that transplanting the tree is risky and we will do the best we can to make sure it survives. We transplanted it, put soil conditioner around the rootball, and watered it daily while we were on site. And finally, in terms of the thistle, we were never sending someone out, I gave Mr. [removed member name] the company's number and information for whom we use to take care of weed control for us. Again, this is all news to me, Mr. [removed member name] and his mother were extremely happy with everything each time I spoke to them."
Ryan is very helpful and professional. He took his time answering all our questions and concerns. We had a terrible experience with another landscaping company located in Bear, Delaware that we hired in 2007. With that said, Ryan was very honest with us and explained in detail the repairs that we needed to make in order to correct the shoddy workmanship that was installed by "A New View" of Bear, DE just 4 yrs prior. Our front stairs, walkway, and patio were all sinking because of laying of a poor foundation of just sand, dirt, and small stones. Ryan submitted an estimate within a few weeks that was very detailed so that we knew what to expect.
Ryan's crew started the job in March of 2012. Bryan and Scott were assigned to our job site. They are two of the most knowledgable, professional, and helpful members of Ryan's team. We were fortunate this time (unlike the previous experience in 2007) to inspect and investigate the work while it was being done each day. Bryan and Scott answered all our questions and concerns with much patience and care. We certainly didn't want to make the same mistake twice with hiring a landscaping company that just wanted to collect the money and run without regard to proper workmanship. We felt that we were in good hands with Ryan, Bryan, and Scott. What a Team!
The new staircase is so beautiful as well as the walkway and patio.
We most certainly would recommend Driftwood Lawn Care and Landscaping to anyone who wants professional, expert, and knowledgable service to make repairs, install pavers, lighting, or, any outdoor lawn needs. In fact, we will be giving Ryan another call for a future project very soon.
Thank you Ryan!
