+ -1 moreWe needed movers to move some heavy bedroom furniture 45 minutes away. I researched several moving companies that I found online, and was amazed by the add-on fees that were often added, like sales tax, insurance fee, fuel surcharge ($68 for a 45 minute drive away?!), high estimates for time (5.5 hours for moving 4 pieces of furniture?!), etc. When I checked into Optima movers, Marius quoted me a very reasonable rate, even with a 3-hour minimum charge. So, we cautiously hired them, and were very pleased with their service! The two guys were very strong and moved the furniture out of the first place in 20 minutes! Everything was well-protected. The guys quickly put all the furniture in place at the final destination and didn’t do any damage to the pieces or to our walls. We highly recommend Optima and plan to use their services again when our son moves.

Description of Work: We requested three movers and a 24ft truck; we had everything in writing via email from Marius including a list of items. They showed up with two movers and a 16ft truck. We sent them back. The manager called saying it was our fault. That's how good they are.

Jose and his crew took charge of our move and made every effort to ensure that our furniture arrived at our new home unharmed. They came on the holiday, when all other moving companies refused to move us even in case of our emergency. + -1 moreI needed to help my daughter with her move in Baltimore. Since I live out of state I had to take a chance in hiring an unknown mover. Mariusz responded immediately with a quote via email and confirmed all information and dates. Then I supplied him with the information he needed. I contacted him the day before, even though he was going to confirm the same. Just wanted to make sure everything was set up before I made the 5 hour trip to Md. The team (Jose and Sergei) arrived an hour early which was great! They moved all the boxes and carefully placed them in the designated rooms as labeled. Furniture in this one bedroom unit was moved from the main building to the adjacent building. The men were professional, helpful, careful with all the furnishings, boxes and fragile items. They set up the bed, table, couch, chair and assembled the mirror onto the dresser. It was a wonderful experience. The transition from building to building was smooth and effortless. I wouldn't hesitate giving them our future business or recommending them for any moving needs! Thanks to Mariusz and his men! Awesome job!

+ -1 moreHorrible, I called to reserve the date late after having issues with the a booked time for another mover. and they assured me that my date was available. I received a call at 10pm that night that said the booking agent looked at the wrong date and they no longer had my time available, but could come later in the morning. I agreed to this, and the next day they came 3 hours late without calling to inform us of their lateness and dinged my furntire and apartment. The movers were not friendly or cordial and it cost extra for bags for the mattresses. I would never use this company again or recommend them to anyone I remotely like.
Description of Work: Moved our furniture less than a mile from our apartment to our new row home. They did not move any other items.

+ -1 moreWe used Optima for our recent move from our first home into our forever home. First for the not so great: They had given us an estimate of $300 - $450, I'm guessing they underestimated the amount of stuff we had accumulated in given the low estimate...as the amount billed totaled over $100 more than the high range of the estimate They were 2.5 hours late, but they called to let us know and keep us updated on arrival time. The Great: Despite the cost being higher than the estimate and the tardiness, I would hire them again and recommend them. For $560 - 3 hardworking and efficient men moved furniture from 4 levels of a home, and an outdoor shed, and packed it all in a huge truck, drove it 40 minutes and unpacked it into rooms, requested. The worked quickly and nothing was broken, damaged, or missing (I think, we're still unboxing...haha). For the price you can't beat it! They, in no way, attempted to drag the job out to charge more, as you so often hear movers do. They were careful with all of our items, and I would highly recommend them!

+ -1 moreI wasn't sure about hiring this company because of the varied reviews. However, my indecision in picking a company meant that with less than a week left to my moving date I need to just hire someone and get it done. I emailed with a request for an estimate and Marius promptly replied with the information. A few email exchanges later I had my slot confirmed (2 pm on Saturday). Marius called me on Friday to confirm again. On Saturday Marius called about 1:30 saying they were just finishing up and would be a bit late. Honestly, I just assumed they would be at least an hour late (like the cable guy or a repairman) so I wasn't put out by it and I appreciated the notice. Once Marius and his crew of two other men arrived they went to work. They were fast and efficient and didn't stop once until the job was done. They cleared out my house in no time. They followed me to the new house and jumped right back in. My new house has three flights of stairs and I felt bad for the guys but they just kept working and had the truck unloaded pretty quickly. They handled my stuff with care and everything seems to have come through without a scratch. I thought they did an excellent job and was very happy with Marius and his team. The price was great and although I don't plan on moving again anytime soon, if I did I would definitely give Optima a call.
Description of Work: Moved my house (about 960 sq ft) to my new house. I had already done just about all the packing so they moved all the boxes and furniture and odds and ends.

However, the guys were dedicated, they did a good job, they did a fast job and there weren’t any issues at all. They didn’t break anything and that was a first for me. The price wasn’t bad. It was for two full truck-loads. I'd use them again. Honest, careful movers are hard to find.

+ -1 moreOverall it was a terrible experience and I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. While they may "confirm" the move, this really means nothing. They are a dishonest business, and not worth the stress of being blown-off.
Description of Work: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! I called Optima Moving just over a week before my June 30th move. I spoke with a man who scheduled me for the afternoon (1pm) on the 30th since that was the last day of my lease and the only slot they had available. I then followed up our call with an e-mail confirming the details of the move. Two days before the move I called again to confirm that everything was set for the 30th -- I would have 3 movers and a 24 foot truck at a rate of just less than eighty per hour, as advertised on their craigslist ad. On the day of the move, I called to confirm the afternoon move and everything was set. The movers weren't there by 2pm, so I called to see what the hold-up was. They said their morning move was taking longer than expected since the woman they were moving rented two trucks of her own and they were helping her pack those in addition to their own. While I was dissapointed they would do something they hadn't previously agreed to, thereby screwing all the other customers, I was assured they would arrive by 5:30pm to complete my move. At 5:30 nobody showed up, so I called and the number now went straight to voicemail. I tried multiple times and left multiple voicemails and there was no response. No call to reschedule, cancel, or apologize -- nothing. Being that it was after 6pm, I was left to scramble and find last minute movers. I can't believe this company would knowingly screw over a customer when they were aware that I HAD to be out of my house on that day. DO NOT USE OPTIMA -- they are unreliable, and therefore not worth the low advertised rate.

+ -1 moreWe paid around $400 or $500 for the moving. The overall work went well. First they were supposed to move me on a Friday and they ended up not showing; so they came on Saturday. They took us out Saturday during the day. Once the movers goods came in, they really did it fast and they got us all moved there. Their prices are great. I will use them in the future. I think they should have given me discount for coming a day later, which they didn't.

+ -1 moreFrom the moment I contacted the company, the responsiveness to my requests was very impressive. I had to change my move date a couple of times and Marius accomodated my requests without any problems/attitude. The 4 man team arrived on time and was very professional and efficient. I moved from a 3-story, 2 bedroom garden apt. in Montgomery County to a house in Frederick County. I had a LOT of boxes (about 80 or so, including 7 wardrobe and heavy ones filled w/books), not to mention 2 wall to ceiling oak bookcases and other furniture. The team was also excellent at accomodating my requests for box/furniture placement at my new location. I chose to use the "man hour" payment option (they also offer a flat rate, which most companies don't do). They were very efficient and fast (I was still packing when they arrived "on-time" and could not keep up with them, LOL!). The move, including the tip for all 4 guys, came in just under $500. I highly recommend the entire team for any moving needs.
