From start to finish, Eugene and his crew were excellent to work with. Our free estimate was much more concise than the "ballpark estimate" thrown out by other companies. While you should always budget for surprises during construction, our estimate was itemized in detail, and showed what upgrades were available and their pricing. The total price was the best of all of our estimates. They worked efficiently, were always friendly, and cleaned up each night before they left. Eugene stopped by frequently to ensure everything was on track and accommodated my suggestions for minor tweaks throughout the process. I very much recommend them and will use them for future remodeling.

Eugene from Glorem LLC was fantastic to work with. His team completed our basement on time and within budget without any major issues. They went above and beyond to get our basement exactly the way we wanted, and we could not be happier. The finished basement has given us an extra 1300 sq ft of comfortable and livable space. The one area we were concerned about was having a bedroom in the basement without a way to exit from the basement. Eugene made this easy by installing a basement egress window just in case someone had to get out of the basement, and we could also claim that now as an additional bedroom if we ever sell the home. Each of the crew members that came into the house were kind and respectful of our home which made for a much less stressful renovation project. Eugene kept us informed throughout the whole project. We had a complicated situation with rerouting the plumbing but again his highly skilled crew did an amazing job. I have already recommended Glorem to friends that are having their basement remodeled. They are extremely hard working and will do whatever it takes to make sure you are happy with the completed project.

Eugene and his team did a fantastic job finishing our basement! The quality of their work was top notch, and their prices were reasonable compared to other contractors. They were extremely responsive throughout the entire process with any changes we requested or questions we had. The work was completed on time, and included a beautiful half bath and wall-mounted desk. They even did other small favors around our house that were outside of the finished basement, which was very convenient for us. Despite challenges presented by working through the middle of a pandemic, this did not affect their schedule at all, and we came in right at our budget. We cannot recommend Glorem enough, and would absolutely use them for any future remodeling projects!

GloRem remolded by basement —install wet bar, install flooring, install carpet, install tile, painting, install plumbing, install lights and painted sunroom . Plubming and electrical work passed on the first inspection. Eugene did an outstanding job helping me design my wet bar. He did a great job managing the entire project. GloRem started on time and finished ahead of schedule. They were extremely professional and did a great job with keeping the work area clean. My basement looks fantastic! GloRem exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them for your project.

Absolutely wonderful!!! Eugene, his employees and all others workers were the best in the business. Very respectful. Always let us ask questions while they were working. Absolutely great pricing and beautiful workmanship. The project was done early even with waiting for permits due to COVID and with adding more work then originally agreed to. We can't say enough when we have another remodel or upgrade in our house we will be calling Eugene.

Glorem has done fantastic job in my basement. The basement was totally unfinished of around 1000sqft. I had around 11 estimates for the job. I had a wide range of prices. They were not the cheapest but they offered the most detailed plan and price list of everything in the project. Their price was also very reasonable. Eugen and his team are extremely organized, honest and dedicated to quality work. Eugen was on top of very details in the project was present during all inspections. I really appreciate the hard work. I had a kitchenette bathroom and living area in my basement.

We recently had GloRem, LLC complete a total remodel of our basement. It is a small 1950s rancher with lots of construction challenges. The area was used for 30 years as a daycare. Needless to say, it took a lot of abuse. Little or no upgrades had been done during that time. When Eugene walked through with me and I explained our needs for the future he was confident that he could give us what we wanted. From concept to design, he made it worry free. He was responsive to all questions, patient with my changes, and supportive in my decisions. We were totally satisfied and would hire again.

Eugene and GloRem finished our basement for us and it was an excellent experience. The estimate process was very efficient and straightforward, and we found the pricing to be fair. Eugene even has a showroom where you can see samples and visualize things like flooring, countertop, and cabinetry options. We had a general idea of our desired layout and Eugene was very helpful in making suggestions and adjustments that enhanced the final floor-plan and made it more functional. He also has design software that is very useful. There were some added complexities with our project such as creating an egress window which required expanding the existing window opening in our stone house. Prior to Eugene starting the basement project, we had separately hired another company to do some unrelated HVAC repairs to our ductwork to address some issues in the first floor of our rancher – this required coordination with Eugene as much of this HVAC work by the other company was being performed in the basement before the new walls and ceiling were put in and all went smoothly. The quality of the work and attention to detail were excellent as well and all the members of Eugene’s team are friendly and a pleasure to work with. The work is done in a very organized way and the team is very good about keeping things tidy and cleaning up at the end of the day. Eugene is very responsive – everyone worked tirelessly and long days to complete our project within the expected time-frame and Eugene was on-site much of the time to answer our questions and supervise the project. We are thrilled with the finished product and would work with Eugene and GloRem without hesitation on future projects. Thank you again, Eugene, for all your help!

We worked with Glorem to have 1/2 of our basement finished so that we had space big enough to watch TV, do crafting, and for our son to have a computer area. They ran power, ethernet, and coax, put up the framing, added spray foam insulation, put up drywall, painted, put in floor molding, hung doors, put in flooring (LVP). They put in a new bathroom including roughing out the plumbing and connecting it to the existing lines. They worked with us to put in custom cabinetry for us to display books and to store items. Along the way we also had them put in a water heater. Everything was done professionally and they worked with the county to pull permits and have all of the work inspected and approved. They worked with us as we made changes along the way and were very open and willing to listen to our ideas. The only thing that I would like to have had was a little more insight into the schedule changes. At times, people were supposed to show up and didn't and at others people showed up unexpected. It wasn't a major hassle, but something that could be improved upon. I would definitely use them again.

We could not be more satisfied with our new basement. Eugene, Viktor, and the rest of the staff were professional and extremely hard working. We found our experience with GloRem to be wonderful. The initial meeting and walk through with Eugene was informative and thorough. We did our due diligence and collected a few estimates. Even though we wound up having them start the project several months after we originally planned, the updated quote GloRem provided was nearly the same, and they were eager to start. GloRem laid out an estimated time frame and budget, and nailed them both. At no point in time did we feel pressured to upgrade, change, spend extra money, or did they require extra time, during our project. The level of professionalism shown by GloRem, from both Eugene and Viktor, was A+. From day one. The level of confidence in the local area building codes (we are located in Carroll County) and what adjustments might need to be made (e.g., bulkhead placed here, water lines can go there, etc.,) was very reassuring. When we built our home, the builder offered finished basement options, and they were nice and definitely a little less costly, due to obvious overhead benefits the builder had such as parts and materials being ordered in bulk and licenses being pulled and so forth. However, after having seen some of our neighbor’s basements, and then experiencing our custom made finished basement, it was money well spent! The space feels much more form fitting to our family’s needs, rather than just a generic cookie cutter space. (To that point, GloRem provided custom crafted real wood shelves! Hand cut and hand crafted just for our space.) You will find that the level of communication and professionalism shown to be of a first class level. The cost estimates and time estimates are very accurate, and GloRem will explain to you which estimates are conservative and which may vary some. I would highly recommend GloRem to anyone interested in home remodeling or basement finishing needs.

Late Spring my wife and I wanted to finish our 1,800 square feet basement. After considering five contractors for our basement remodel, we easily decided to go with Eugene/ Glorem. I read all the online positive reviews about Eugene /Glorem, that’s how we found Glorem, and when we met with him the first time, he didn’t even bring any of those reviews up. Instead, he had several photos of his work, and he comfortably offered that we see some of his recent projects- while we din’t take him on this offer, that just showed how confident he was of his work, something that no other contractor offered either. Out of all the contractors, Eugene was the only one who was able to give us an estimate the first time he visited, and his pricing was very competitive, especially compared to Howard County-based contractors. The core pricing/ estimate of the basement he gave to us was clearer than other contractors and didn’t so much depend on ‘this or that’ as with other contractors- we understood we could go over budget depending upon what kind of materials we upgraded to, additional add-ons we might want to build, but it was nice to know that the base pricing was very clear. Also, Eugene was confident that he could finish the basement in 3-months, which he did, and he uses buildertrend.com, a website, which shows you the schedule on when things will be started, payment schedule, and receipts for any of the purchases he makes for your allowances. Every one of his workers/ subs offer very high quality work- so much so that we added some additional trim/ molding to stairs/ bathroom near the end of our project. I will also say this about Eugene- he’s not only a contractor, but he’s also a designer- he gave us the best ideas out of everyone on how to create the most logical, best flowing floorplan, even working around some unsightly foundation poles. We quickly learned through the build that Eugene always had our best interest at heart, and at the end, we weren’t disappointed. The last thing I’ll say about Eugene/Glorem is that he and his co-workers are very considerate (offered a porta potty w/o us even asking), and that you won’t find a more trustworthy builder- he won’t ‘nickel and dime’ you like most other builders either. We are very pleased with the final outcome- our basement is better than we could have ever imagined, and now we are also happily another referral for Eugene.

My wife and I were looking to finish our basement, which is almost 2,000 square feet, and we consulted with 5 different contractors. After a month of interviewing all the contractors, we selected Eugene's company, Glorem LLC. His prices were competitive, especially compared to local (Howard County-based) contractors, and he was the only contractor that was able to offer us on-the-spot pricing, whereas every other contractor took a week or more to get back to us on pricing. Further, when we received pricing from other contractors, the other contractors seemed to have more variables whereas with Eugene, the core pricing of the basement was more clear - we understood that pricing would change based upon what custom items we'd select later, but the base pricing was both clear and competitive. One of the main reasons we went with Eugene is that we believed we could trust him to deliver quality work in a timely fashion. After a lot of researching of on-line reviews, the vast majority of reviews (google, Angies List, houzz, etc..) on Eugene/ Glorem were very positive. When we first met Eugene, he didn't even bring up any of his positive online reviews, but he happily offered up referrals and showed many photos from his happy customer's projects- he even offered us to visit some of his recent projects that he finished (as compared with a couple of Howard County-based contractors we were turned off by, one had very few photos of their work, one didn’t offer any referrals, another contractor was pushy as he kept insisting on showing us photos of a $200k basement that he finished in HoCo even after we told him a couple of times that was way out of our budget. Another reason why we chose Eugene was because he didn't come off as a typical salesperson, but instead, Eugene came off as being someone we felt we could immediately trust, someone who was humble, yet confident of his work, someone who let his work speak for himself, and finally someone who we felt wouldn't nickel and dime us for every little change like some of the other contractors that we received pricing from. Although we never ended up taking Eugene up on his offers to visit some of his previous client's basements, the fact that he offered, to us, showed that he could back-up his work and that he had happy customers who would want to help him show their basements because he did such a great job for them-- and I'll talk more about this later as I became one of those happy customers. Another main reason why we chose Eugene/ Glorem was because he had the best ideas compared to the other contractors on helping us design the basement we envisioned. For instance, we had two ugly basement foundation poles in an area where the bathroom had to be built (underground pipes/exhaust fans were located in this particular area), but the tricky part was that she also wanted two doors for the basement bathroom in this relatively tight space, one door for the adjacent bedroom and one bathroom door; however, these two foundation poles next to the rooms were right in the middle of the rooms and were an eyesore based upon their location. Some contractors said there was no space to put two doors there, or they drew up plans that didn't look right on paper, but Eugene was the only contractor that drew a floor plan that cleverly integrated the two foundation poles so that they'd be hidden behind the bathroom/bedroom/ utility walls and built the two entry doors (to bathroom and bedroom) next to each other, giving us that second bathroom door that my wife wanted- no other contractor had the vision that Eugene had; besides the trust factor, he was the best designer (I’d even say architect) we met out of all the contractors. He also had the vision to design our bar area in a location we didn't at first even consider, but after explaining how it would look better and how that location would also save money on plumbing to for the sink we wanted to have, we took his advice and we couldn't be happier with the outcome- he also recommended a tray ceiling for the bar area and barn doors for a refrigerator closet- all of which we didn’t even think about, and we were very happy with the final results. Our basement is relatively large, but from the onset, he gave us a timeline (less than 3-months) that he felt very comfortable sticking to, and his company uses an on-line service called BUILDERTREND which is transparent on when things (e.g. framing, plumbing, painting, etc..) will be scheduled, shows payment schedule, and includes receipts for custom materials (e.g. faucets, vanity, etc..). He only took payments when certain milestones were completed from the contract. During the build, both Eugene and his Project Manager, Viktor, stayed on top of their employees, not that any supervision was needed, and was in constant touch with us during the whole build and was very responsive to anything we brought up. Towards the end of the build, and this was another thing that distinguished his company from other contractors was that Eugene/ GloRem also had their own nice, clean design center in Baltimore County where we visited to decide on which flooring/ cabinets/ counters to choose from- he had a good amount of choices to choose from so that we could choose what would work for our budget. Other builders said that they’d have to send us to their supplier’s showrooms and didn’t appear to have as many options. In terms of flexibility, if you like something that Eugene didn’t have, he’d go out and get what you wanted- this was another benefit of working with Eugene. I can very confidently say that everyone on his team, from the electrician, carpenter, plumbers, painters, flooring, and framers were top notch! Not only was their work of very high quality, but they finished on schedule and were respectful of our home- Eugene even offered a Porta Potty, something we didn't ask for but appreciated nonetheless. Also, during our build, when we decided to make an adjustment here and there (e.g. wanted ceiling framing built a little wider in one section), Eugene and his team were understanding and quick to kindly make the change for us. In particular, the electricians, plumber, and painters were excellent- Eugene gives you the flexibility to meet with the contractors to let them know what you want, where you want things, and if you decide to make a small change, provided it's not major, then he also won't try to nickel and dime you as I mentioned before for very minor changes. For instance, we had wanted an extra LED lights for our basement closet more than what we originally agreed to on the contract, but Eugene didn't charge us for that, and that was something we appreciated because many other contractors would try to maximize their profits. At the end, our finished basement is beautiful and of very high quality. We have a bar area, one additional bedroom, a gym room, storage spaces, and a huge family room. We ended up adding some additional upgraded items like wooden floors vs PVC-based floors and crown molding/ custom trim to stairwell and bathroom. When the project was nearly completed, we didn't mind going over the budget a little at the end (e.g. adding trim, addtl shelving) because the workmanship was so good, pricing was reasonable, and since the we had a great experience with GloRem. Going back to the topic of referrals and to summarize the work that his company does, at the end of our recently completed projected, we happily offered to Eugene that we'd also be one of his happy customers and that he could use us as a referral for him and his company (we recently showed our basement to one of his prospective Ellicott City clients last week). We don't think we could've had a better outcome/ experience- his prices were reasonable, he finished on time, communicated well with us, he had the best design ideas, and his work is top quality. Thanks to Euegene/GloRem, our basement shows very well, and we think it was a great investment for our family. As a happy customer, I've already highly recommended him to my friends and neighbors.

We could not have been happier with the results of the basement remodel by GloRem. What sold us on GloRem was the layout that Eugene created and the detailed quote he provided. We knew exactly what we were getting and what the costs would be if we decided to make changes during the construction. The project included an full bath, large open area for the kids to play in, built in shelves, and a theater room with a custom bar and platform. Communication between Eugene, the owner, and Victor the project manager, was great throughout the project. The project was completed on schedule, which included some last minute changes and even the birth of the painter's first baby. Our kids now have an big open area to play in and dad has quite the man cave.

We recently worked with GloRem on finishing out our basement. The owner, Eugene, was very hands on - he came out to do the original consultation, measurements, and quote, and stayed hands on during the build out, as was his project manager, Victor. We had a few contractors quote, and what really stood out about GloRem was the level of detail provided in their bid. Eugene made several thoughtful recommendations on our layout to get the most out of our space, and was familiar with 2019 Howard County code changes we'd need to meet in order to pass inspections. Throughout the whole process we felt like they treated our house as if were their own. The same goes for all of their subs (framing, electrical, drywall, etc...) - no missed work days, and that included some pretty significant weather! Bonus points for finishing up a week early. Very satisfied with our choice to work with GloRem on what was our largest home improvement project to date.

Like others - can't recommend highly enough. GloRem was the easy choice for us. They were responsive and professional from start to finish. There website gave us a great idea of the quality of their work whereas many others had very limited information. They were the only company to offer us a detailed estimate so we could understand the price and make adjustments based on budgets. Others just gave a number and when questioned adjusted numbers with no clear rationale or detail. MOST importantly, the job was done well and on time. Actually, it was done in half the time stated on the contract (one week for basement remodel). We have other projects in mind for our house. Fortunately, we’ll only have to call one company - GloRem - for those projects.

Cannot recommend highly enough. 6 stars! We had our whole basement finished- a bathroom, office, workout space, TV room and large common area. Eugene and his team were quick and efficient. We hardly noticed them working and if we had any questions Eugene would answer e-mails quickly and even come back in the evening to meet us. They added trim, stained hand rails and other finishing touches we never would have thought of. Great experience and great price.
