I have been a real estate professional in Howard County for over 40 years, first as a realtor and then as an appraiser. In my career I must have seen conservatively over 4,000 houses. I have seen all kinds of renovations and updates to existing properties. I have seen workmanship at all levels, from DIY disasters to premier craftsmanship. I want to share with you an experience I have had with a basement renovation company called GloRem LLC (gloremllc.com). I was first involved with this company 10 years ago when the company was a new venture for the owner, Evgeny Chernousov (â Eugeneâ ). At that time, I found the company through Angieâ s List and took a chance on a young and eager contractor whose bid to remodel 3 bathrooms was competitive in the market. What a serendipitous decision that became. Eugene and his workmen, from tile experts to framers to electricians to plumbers to painters were true artisans, and Eugene was involved every step of the way. He made sure there was a minimum of construction dust and unnecessary clutter. His insistence on expert execution of every task was consistent with what I discovered to be his perfectionist personality trait. After enjoying his exceptional work on my bathrooms for a decade, it became time to both renovate my basement and add a bath. I was delighted to discover that Eugene and his company, GloRem LLC, had become a premier basement remodeling company. After asking him to see my basement and give me a bid, his pricing was still, despite his considerable success, competitive. I was delighted to discover that, a decade later, not only was his work ethic unchanged, but, in addition, Eugene has become a sophisticated version of his enthusiastic and talented younger self. His bid was detailed and easily understood with each expense described. His work, on my second encounter with him, was just as enjoyable as my firstâ ¦all work was completed ahead of schedule in impeccable fashion. I write all of this just to give any of you who are considering home renovations a heads up from a real estate professional who, in 40+ years, has truly â seen it allâ and is delighted that true quality and pride of workmanship still exists.

Eugene and the GloRem team finished my 1100 square foot basement. They were the best estimate between three other contractors but more importantly, Eugene was professional, on time and reliable. Throughout the entire experience, Eugene kept us informed on the next steps and was always available to answer questions and provide advice. His team was professional and respectful of our home. I cant say enough about the GloRem team and would absolutely recommend them for any project. We are thrilled with our basement and the extra space and value we now have to enjoy in our home. We were able to add a bedroom, full bathroom, and a huge open space for games and movies. Highly recommended!

Eugene and his team did a fantastic job finishing our basement! The quality of their work was top notch, and their prices were reasonable compared to other contractors. They were extremely responsive throughout the entire process with any changes we requested or questions we had. The work was completed on time, and included a beautiful half bath and wall-mounted desk. They even did other small favors around our house that were outside of the finished basement, which was very convenient for us. Despite challenges presented by working through the middle of a pandemic, this did not affect their schedule at all, and we came in right at our budget. We cannot recommend Glorem enough, and would absolutely use them for any future remodeling projects!

GloRem remolded by basement â install wet bar, install flooring, install carpet, install tile, painting, install plumbing, install lights and painted sunroom . Plubming and electrical work passed on the first inspection. Eugene did an outstanding job helping me design my wet bar. He did a great job managing the entire project. GloRem started on time and finished ahead of schedule. They were extremely professional and did a great job with keeping the work area clean. My basement looks fantastic! GloRem exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them for your project.

Glorem has done fantastic job in my basement. The basement was totally unfinished of around 1000sqft. I had around 11 estimates for the job. I had a wide range of prices. They were not the cheapest but they offered the most detailed plan and price list of everything in the project. Their price was also very reasonable. Eugen and his team are extremely organized, honest and dedicated to quality work. Eugen was on top of very details in the project was present during all inspections. I really appreciate the hard work. I had a kitchenette bathroom and living area in my basement.

Every day they showed up on time and often stayed late to get work done. We added a full bath, a bedroom with an egress window, storage space, and reworked the entryway. I have used many contractors over the years and GloRem is the most conscientious, hardworking group of craftsmen I have ever dealt with. Their attention to detail and building exactly what we wanted is unmatched. They take great pride in their work. I could never have imagined how well this project could turn out.

Eugene and GloRem finished our basement for us and it was an excellent experience. The estimate process was very efficient and straightforward, and we found the pricing to be fair. Eugene even has a showroom where you can see samples and visualize things like flooring, countertop, and cabinetry options. We had a general idea of our desired layout and Eugene was very helpful in making suggestions and adjustments that enhanced the final floor-plan and made it more functional. He also has design software that is very useful. There were some added complexities with our project such as creating an egress window which required expanding the existing window opening in our stone house. Prior to Eugene starting the basement project, we had separately hired another company to do some unrelated HVAC repairs to our ductwork to address some issues in the first floor of our rancher â this required coordination with Eugene as much of this HVAC work by the other company was being performed in the basement before the new walls and ceiling were put in and all went smoothly. The quality of the work and attention to detail were excellent as well and all the members of Eugeneâ s team are friendly and a pleasure to work with. The work is done in a very organized way and the team is very good about keeping things tidy and cleaning up at the end of the day. Eugene is very responsive â everyone worked tirelessly and long days to complete our project within the expected time-frame and Eugene was on-site much of the time to answer our questions and supervise the project. We are thrilled with the finished product and would work with Eugene and GloRem without hesitation on future projects. Thank you again, Eugene, for all your help!

Absolutely GLOWING FOR GLOREM!!! Glorem is hands down the BEST contractor we have ever had the pleasure of working with! Eugene, Victor and the entire crew were amazing to work with and beyond professional. Our finished basement was flooded and Glorem came in and worked absolute magic to complete a major renovation. They redesigned the layout by creating a storage area, closet, pantry, moved a bathroom on the other side of the room, created a large theater area and not to mention an awesome kitchenette. They refinished the staircase and created a storage area underneath which they finished off with trim and flooring! Honestly, you will not get a more respectful and hard working crew in your home. Eugene was always available and completely responsive to any needs we had and was on site daily to over see the project. He made suggestions that really made the space exceptional and his attention to detail and quality not anything like we have seen in other contractors. It did not go unnoticed that they cleaned up daily when their work was done and showed great respect for our home. Victor's craftsmanship was exceptional, which we have found is a rarity these days. GloRem owned by Eugene is the best contracting company I have hired so far. They were super efficient, responsive, detail oriented and accommodating. They renovated a large commercial office space for me. Everything was done in a timely manner and to my satisfaction. I recommend Eugene highly. I would happily work with him again.

We could not be more satisfied with our new basement. Eugene, Viktor, and the rest of the staff were professional and extremely hard working. Any time workers finished up for the day, they always made sure to clean the site before leaving. Our project was completed on time and within our modest budget. I had a lot of questions throughout the project and had direct access to Viktor our project manager who was very patient with me and responded very promptly to my many texts ;) A++++

We found our experience with GloRem to be wonderful. The initial meeting and walk through with Eugene was informative and thorough. We did our due diligence and collected a few estimates. Even though we wound up having them start the project several months after we originally planned, the updated quote GloRem provided was nearly the same, and they were eager to start. GloRem laid out an estimated time frame and budget, and nailed them both. At no point in time did we feel pressured to upgrade, change, spend extra money, or did they require extra time, during our project. The level of professionalism shown by GloRem, from both Eugene and Viktor, was A+. From day one. The level of confidence in the local area building codes (we are located in Carroll County) and what adjustments might need to be made (e.g., bulkhead placed here, water lines can go there, etc.,) was very reassuring. When we built our home, the builder offered finished basement options, and they were nice and definitely a little less costly, due to obvious overhead benefits the builder had such as parts and materials being ordered in bulk and licenses being pulled and so forth. However, after having seen some of our neighborâ s basements, and then experiencing our custom made finished basement, it was money well spent! The space feels much more form fitting to our familyâ s needs, rather than just a generic cookie cutter space. (To that point, GloRem provided custom crafted real wood shelves! Hand cut and hand crafted just for our space.) You will find that the level of communication and professionalism shown to be of a first class level. The cost estimates and time estimates are very accurate, and GloRem will explain to you which estimates are conservative and which may vary some. I would highly recommend GloRem to anyone interested in home remodeling or basement finishing needs.

We could not have been happier with the results of the basement remodel by GloRem. What sold us on GloRem was the layout that Eugene created and the detailed quote he provided. We knew exactly what we were getting and what the costs would be if we decided to make changes during the construction. The project included an full bath, large open area for the kids to play in, built in shelves, and a theater room with a custom bar and platform. Communication between Eugene, the owner, and Victor the project manager, was great throughout the project. The project was completed on schedule, which included some last minute changes and even the birth of the painter's first baby. Our kids now have an big open area to play in and dad has quite the man cave.

As I sit in my brand new cigar room smoking one of my Arturo Fuente cigars, I would be completely remiss if I did not express the gratitude I have for the detail and quality of work that GloRem and Evgeny performed in the renovation of my basement. Evgeny was able to provide me with everything that I asked for, which was a lot. From installing two gigantic exhaust fans in the cigar room that will recirculate all the air in the room within 2 minute and turning the stairs 90 degrees to empty out into the family room, instead of straight into a beam. Now the beam is hidden in a column attached to the stairs. Everyone that worked with GloRem was great from the framers who finished framing a 1200 sq. ft. in 2 days, to the electricians who spent two hours walking me through every detail of placement of all the switches, outlets, and recessed lights. The electricians also concealed and fixed a lot of bad work from a previous contractor. They were able to add a dedicated line to the microwave so a fuse is not blown every time the microwave is used. I love every inch of the 1200 sq. ft. basement that he remodeled from the family room with lights in the crown modeling, to the bathroom with the built-in shower niche to hold soap and shampoo, to the accent wall of reclaimed wood in the cigar room. I initially counted them out because they seemed to be new to Home Advisor and only had a few reviews but don't make that mistake. I saw some reviews on other sites and what stood out to me was that GloRem did not have a single bad review which is a testament to the quality of work that you will receive with GloRem.

Like others - can't recommend highly enough. GloRem was the easy choice for us. They were responsive and professional from start to finish. Their website gave us a great idea of the quality of their work whereas many others had very limited information. They were the only company to offer us a detailed estimate so we could understand the price and make adjustments based on budgets. Others just gave a number and when questioned adjusted numbers with no clear rationale or detail. MOST importantly, the job was done well and on time. Actually, it was done in half the time stated on the contract (one week for basement remodel). We have other projects in mind for our house. Fortunately, we'll only have to call one company - GloRem - for those projects.

Very professional and great workpreformed, a little pricey but it was worth it.
