EXCELLENT!!! Dave is now my only "go to" guy for appliance repairs. I called because our freezer was working - or so I thought. I made the mistake of putting something hot in it to rapid cool and it caused the condensate line to freeze up. After I thawed it and made sure the line was clear, I turned it back on. It started fine but when I checked it 4 hours later, it wasn't running (come to find out it was simply in the defrost mode). I found and called Harrison Appliance to come and look at it before we bought a new one. Because I had left it unplugged, there wasn't much he could check at that time. However, Dave explained everything to us, how it worked and what he thought. He told us to turn it back on and test it by leaving water in a cup and see if it stayed frozen. It did... he saved us a bunch of money as we were about to replace it without even looking into repair. The cost above is what was charged for the diagnostic visit for 2 appliances. While he was at the house, I also had him look at our range as the oven had an issue with temperature accuracy. After checking it out, he found that it was not preheating properly and not coming up to the proper temperature. He felt it was the temperature sensor. He ordered the part and returned the following Saturday to put it in. I found his initial estimate for the range repair ($200.00) very reasonable. Unfortunately, it did not correct the problem. It is most likely the motherboard of the range which is not worth the expense to replace. To help, he was able to calibrated the oven temperature up 30 degrees so that it was more accurate. After he was finished - he did not charge us for the part, his time, the calibration - nothing. I realize it didn't fix the issue but how many people do you know would expect nothing for their work and/or not try to sell a new range? (He also has an appliance retail store). The cost above is what was charged for the diagnostic visit for 2 appliances - he even discounted that because he couldn't do a full examination on the freezer. . Please call him for your appliance repair needs. He is honest, fair, reliable, and very knowledgeable. I can not say enough good things about the experience. Not just because the cost was small, but because of the workmanship and helpfulness of Mr. Dave Harrison.

Ignitor replacement took only about 20 minutes, but he was upfront that the charge would be $150 for the repair. (Luckily, we diagnosed the problem ourselves and purchased the part online, since as you will see later in this review, there is a considerable mark-up if you buy parts from him.) When we later asked him what his hourly rate is, he said, "It depends on the job." We would have liked a bit more transparency here, but basically, extrapolating what he charged us for a 20 min. repair, his hourly rate would be $450. Regarding the refrigerator ice maker, he made three diagnoses, all which turned out to be wrong: 1) He charged $35 to diagnose the problem, which he said was as simple as the water valve from the house to the fridge had been turned off. Turns out, it was on the whole time and when he did the "fix" he was actually turning it off. (Though we expected the $35 diagnostic charge, it would have been nice if he had just waived it, since he was already at our house and it was such a simple "fix." He did say that if it still wasn't working, he wouldn't charge again for diagnosing the problem.) 2) The second incorrect diagnosis that he mentioned when he was at our house was sediment in the line. Luckily, we checked ourselves before hiring him to come back, since who knows how much he would have charged had we hired him to check. There was no sediment. 3) His third incorrect diagnosis was a non-functional solenoid (water inlet) valve. Fortunately, I was able to replace this myself by watching a video on YouTube and got the part online for $35 less than the price he quoted us for the part over the phone. This didn't fix the problem, either. The problem turned out to be a frozen fill tube, which, in retrospect, should have been his first diagnosis, since we told him the problem with the ice maker started when we turned the water off for a week while we were on vacation. We diagnosed and fixed this problem ourselves. Bottom line, had we hired him to fix the fridge and not done it ourselves, we would have paid him HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS for unnecessary fixes. He's a nice guy, but I'm not confident in his diagnostic skills or that he will charge a fair or consistent labor fee. My recommendation is to learn as much as you can on YouTube and handle things yourself.

My refrigerator and dishwasher were making a loud noise. I called Dave and he got in contact with me via email that night telling me he would call in the morning. He followed up with a call in the morning (big points with me for following through with what he said). He was able to schedule a visit within a day (big points for promptness). Dave showed up and got right to work. He assessed the problem within a 30 minute visit. His fee is $95 to assess the issue (anyone who isn't charging to come assess the issue is making up that money elsewhere). He was very up front in telling me that it wasn't worth fixing the dishwasher. The cost to fix it was too close to the replacement cost. He said he would call me once he had the parts for the fridge and would call me. Within 2 days he called me and was able to come out and fix the fridge. He fixed it the first time and it's running smooth 2 weeks later. His total fee was only $350. That included the assessment, parts and labor. I thought that was a very fair price. I would definitely call Dave again to fix my appliances.

I contacted Mr. Harrison about a leak in my Whirlpool refrigerator. He called me back the same day and set up an appointment for the following morning. He arrived at the stated time and diagnosed the problem immediately. He was able to fix the problem and completed the job in less than an hour. Mr. Harrison was very polite and explained exactly what he was doing and what caused the issue. I would definitely call him for future appliance repairs.

He came the same day. He was polite and gave me the information for what I needed to do with the repair. I was pleased with his help.

Dave replied very promptly. He is very courteous and professional. He willingly returned to fix problems not evident in initial repair, and did not charge. A very fair and low service charge. He explainedthe issue and some low cost solutions instead of throwing hand up and saying we have to replace the icemaker.

Dave responded to email over the weekend within 2 hours and called me over phone the next day as promised. He coordinated the time of inspection of the fridge and washer with the tenant, kept me updated about costs and parts needed and then coordinated the actual repair time with the tenant again. Punctual, does what he says and takes care the stuff he promises I did not have the pleasure of meeting him personally but would definitely use him again if needed .

I wish I could say that Dave waved his magic wand and made it "all better," but it was beyond help (motherboard burn-out). Nonetheless, he was all of the wonderful things that everyone else has said about him, as well as honest and a good advisor. I much appreciated his candor about the cost-effectiveness of the repair, and wouldn't hesitate to call him again, the next time I need an appliance doctor.

His call was prompt and quick - within 30 minutes. He arrived promptly to the appointment. He's professional and sharp. He offered lots of information about the roots of the problems and alternative solutions. I'd call him again in a minute.

Just met a great guy Dave.. Call him and left a message, he returned my call in 15 mins and was at my door 2 hours later. I was out getting lunch, he waited for me to return home, very patiently. He was able to diagnose the problem right away, clogged pump on my washing machine and cleared all the debris. He is a nice guy and knowledgeable, quick and straight to the problem. Thanks Dave.... Now he's going to fix the light switch on my oven. Nice!

Could not have gone better. Dave's a professional all the way around--returned my call right away, came exactly on time, made the repair quickly and charges a fair price.

Couldn't ask for finer service! I called him about 10:00 am, left a message, and he called me back within 15 min. He said he could be at my house in an hour. (Sears had told me they couldn't be here for 8 more days! No way this family of 5 will do without a washer that long if we can help it). He was right on time, courteous, and identified the problem in just a few minutes. The washer wouldn't spin the water out, because it couldn't tell the lid was closed. The actuator under the lid was split right open. It's a common problem, so he carries them in his truck. He fixed it within 20 minutes, showed me how it was working, and was done. $185 flat fee for the service call--part included. Not a dirt cheap price, but the promptness and the excellent, honest service were well worth it. It was my first time to call a service person based on Angie's List recommendation, and I am more than satisfied.

Came home at 7 pm from a 2 week trip to discover my refrigerator was dead and all the food in the freezer and Refridge was ruined (and smelling bad), cleaned up and tossed the food, then started looking for repair services. Used Angie's list to find Dave Harrison. He called me back in 10 minutes and adjusted his schedule to come by at 7 am the next morning. He showed up on time, got right to work and replaced a burned out starter motor. Had one on the truck. He showed me the burned out piece and explained how the Refridge worked. Cleaned up afterwards. Price was exactly as quoted. Time to fix was about 45 minutes. I was extremely happy with the responsiveness and professionalism. I left a message, received a return call in just a few minutes. He gave me a one hour window & arrived promptly at the beginning of the hour. Mr Harrison looked over the refrigerator, recommended trying to unplug for 15 minutes allowing system to reset itself. While we were waiting he checked over the components. He plugged it back in & it worked. He assured me I could call him back if it stopped again. The price was also lower than the 1st service call that did nothing.

Dave was awesome! I emailed him Sunday evening after my Kenmore washing machine refused to do anything after it filled with water, clothes & detergent. He immediately emailed me back & was able to fit me in by Tuesday. Due to my work schedule we we're able to settle on Wednesday morning & I would just go in to work late. At 1st he proposed between 9-9:30am. I asked if it was possible for him to come any earlier. He said he could be at my home between 8-8:30am. He arrived at 8am on the dot. He immediately found it was the lid switch that was broken. He had the part on his truck & was done & gone by 8:30am & I made it to work before 9am only having to make up 1 hour of work. He was great with my dog & very friendly overall. I will & already have given his name to friends & Co-workers.

I picked up the new Ovens from Lowes in the AM. I was at my house at 10 am and Dave was too. He removed old oven and re cut opening for new one, he needed to trim up some of the moulding and installed the new oven. He had his cousin drop in to help with the heavy lifting and they even took the old oven away. They were all done in about 2 and 1/2 hrs. They did a great job. Very careful with everything. I will use him again for any repairs too.

Mr. Harrison made one visit to diagnose the problem and a second to install a part that had to be ordered. Both visits were scheduled within a day or two of calling him. He arrived promptly and performed the work efficiently. I would definitely use his services again.

Very well. Unexpectedly fast service, had parts on hand, and price was unexpectedly low for same day service. Refrigerator died in the morning of 12/13. Consulted Angie's list, and called Dave Harrison Appliance because they had a good rating and were close. I received a call back a few minutes later from Dave, scheduled the appointment for same day at noon. Dave showed up a little early, did the repair, and now I am back in service. Having the fridge go out any time is a pain, but during Christmas is doubly so. Being able to contact someone to come and repair the refrigerator the same day is wonderful. I would have paid a premium for such good service, but I didn't have to. Would definitely use Dave again should the need arise.
