Representative was to call call before coming but happened to arrive just as I was leaving for another appointment. I stayed and had the work completed. Seemed to do a good job but I was later told by another lawn service that the ground was too hard at the time to aerate so I'm not sure who to believe. After the service I really didn't see many holes in the lawn to make me think it was properly aerated but I do have lots of new grass so not being a lawn expert and my lawn is in pretty bad shape, I assume it was a good job

Shortly after I purchased the big deal, I received e-mails through Angie's List which asked for three dates when I would be available and also asked for my telephone number. I responded with three dates and provided my number and waited for them to call. They never called. They responded via e-mail through Angie's List asking if I would be available on the upcoming Monday which was not one of the dates I gave them. I reiterated my dates and waited for them to call; but when I didn't hear from them, I called them and arranged a day for them to come. With this type of work, I know the homeowner does not have to be home. But most homeowners want to be there especially when a new company comes to do work. They had two people to come. One aerated they back yard while another did the front. I think they did good work, but I think their communication and scheduling process needs to be improved. I would probably not use them again partly because of the communication, but also because they are located too far from my house. I believe there are excellent landscaping companies closer to home.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it went very well. I paid more than the big deal amount, because he did some extra services. He was a very easy person to talk to. I would call him back. I think the pricing was fine.

I purchased the big deal on September 25, 2013. I did not hear from the service provider in 2 business days, so I called Angie's List on September 27th to ask for assistance. Angies list told me they would follow up with the service provider and said that I may also call the service provider directly if I did not want to wait. I called the service provider on Sunday September 29th and the company stated he was out of town the week of September 30th, but that he would contact me toward the end of the week to schedule the service. I received an email from Angies List on Saturday October 5th, stating that I had a message from the service provider on Angies List. I checked the message and the service provider stated in his message that he would come out to perform the service early in the next week of October 7th. It is now October 10, 2013 and I have not seen the service provider nor has he called to communicate what is going on with my order. So, today, October 10th, 2013 I emailed Angie's List to request a refund to my credit card. Honey Cove Lawn and Landscape showed up at my home to perform the service on October 15th without notifying me. I spoke with the guy and he apologized for not calling me after he left his email message on October 5th. It had rained several days during the week he said he would perform the service. I am sure he could have aerated the lawn in the rain, though. I told him to go ahead and perform the lawn aeration since he was here and since he was very apologetic, and I let him know that I would call Angie's List to let them know not to process my refund and that the service provider had showed up. He gave me a couple other quotes for additional lawn services that I had been wanting to get done. Overall, the communication from Honey Cove was poor. They could have easily called me when they decided not to come out the week of October 7th to schedule another time. The guy was polite and apologetic. I may use them again and give them a second chance if the communication improves.

Mr. Brandon Turner is simply an outstanding lawn-care professional. I will use him regularly and will spread the word in my community and work center of the services provided. He explained fully what he was going to do to the lawn, how we should care for it in the short term and what we should expect as well. After he aerated, spread topsoil and over seeded, he explained what we also needed to do next spring and summer: watering, weed & feed, lawnmower use and care, and much more. The advice he provided was priceless. As a 27-year active duty officer in the Air Force, his professionalism set the standard for me. Other services, including the nation-wide businesses, can't touch his honesty. I can't provide no higher recommendation than that. You can take the time to shop around, like I did, but you wont' find another business to match his price and quality of service.
Description of Work: Provided explicit details, recommendations and costs associated with each option--nothing was left out. At no cost, he reviewed my lawn and provided his suggestions on what needed to be done. On the day of the job, through no fault of his own (I didn't provide him a proper layout), he noticed the lawn was much bigger than the property line suggested and would need more soil after aerating and over seeding. He only charged for the additional topsoil and no labor/return fee.

Brandon was courteous and professional. He did not skimp on the amount of LeafPro in our yard and I'm optimistic that we'll have a great lawn next year. It was expensive but comparable to what is available in the area. I would definitely recommend their services. If he can match the prices at Scotts Lawn, I'd be happy to continue to contract to him for further routine maintenance.

My husband had called several contractors and was waiting days for them to call him back. He decided to call Honey Cove. Brandon happened to be in the area and was at our house for an estimate within the hour. He and his crew performed the work within two weeks after that. When I got home from work, it was all completed and the yard, front and back, looked great! We will definitely call him back next year to get another "jump start" on the lawn care!
Description of Work: The Honey Cove crew did a terrific job trimming all the shrubs and trees on our property. They removed all the trimmings and left the property looking very well manicured!

It went very well, thanks for asking. The work was performed on time and exceeded our expectations. Cleaned up the mess and left my backyard in much better condition that it was before they arrived. The price for the work in my opinion is fair and we will continue to use Honey Cove. The fact that we received calls back in a reasonable time from HC to coordinate the work goes a long way with us. Not sure why but getting other contractors to call back in less than a couple of weeks has been the norm for us.
Description of Work: Initial work was to clear out a large amount of dead ground covering (spruce) that was "infected" by red mites. Remove a couple of Leland Cyprus that were downed (then replant 5 new L/C) from some heavy winds and finally remulch a garden area. More recently due to a jacked up Craftsman riding mower he has been asked to mow the lawn ~ .5 acres. ($60.00)

We had an extremely overgrown mess around our tennis court. Vines were growing through the fences, weed trees were rampant, poison ivy was everywhere as were other vines of immense proportions. It was one hot mess and totally out of control. Honey Cove stopped the madness. If they hadn't come out, the damage would have become too extensive to even use the court. They cleared everything, they trenched around the court and they put pebble and paper down to help fight future growth. Obviously it will take occasional treatment, but thanks to Honey Cove Lawn and Landscaping, we finally have a much needed exercise area back in use. Branden was courteous, on-site during the work, and responsive to all inquiries. I would highly recommend this lawn service. In fact, when I can afford more clearing, I'm making a list of jobs to contact them with.
Description of Work: Honey Cove Lawn and Landscape cleared a humongous amount of weeds, trees and vines from a completely overgrown area. They returned to us an area that we could no longer use.

They said that they can do the job. They even set up an appointment but they did not come. By the time we went to angie's list, it was asking specifics like what date and the time that they were suppose to come. We no longer remember that because we just knew that they did not come. They never showed up and never called. Then there was someone that we looked up online after that. He said that they can do that kind work. They called and set up a date but they never did as well. We were not able to do the things that was suppose to be done.

The job went very well and it was an all day project. We have lined up another project with Honey Cove to perform storm cleanup, bushhogging and lot clearing. There is a fair amount of work to be done, at least 2 days or more, and Brandon's price seemed reasonable and fair. We intend on using Honey Cove for any of our lawn, landscape, and yard clean-up needs in the future.
Description of Work: We were very pleased with the work done by Honey Cove. Brandon Turner was very responsive to our needs, showed professionalism and was willing to work with us on several projects we needed to have done. The first project was to remove two medium-sized trees which lined our long driveway and to trim several overgrown holly bushes. The second project involved leaf removal which extended from the end of our 600 foot driveway to all around our house and pool area. This took several hours to complete due to leaves accumulating over the years without any maintenance being performed. It really became an eye-sore and now it looks wonderful.

We are very pleased with the work they did.
Description of Work: I was working with a retailer to purchase leafpro, grass seed, and straw who was going to deliver the products to our house. I asked her if her employees would like to earn some extra money by staying and spreading it. They were not able to help with this but referred me to Brandon at Honey Cove. Brandon promptly returned my call and spent time talking with me about the work I wanted done. In addition, he could double check my estimate of the size of the yard by using some phone application which was great. On the day of the work, he actually picked up the leafpro, etc., and brought it to our home. Along with a co-worker, for the next two plus hours spread the leafpro, aerated the entire lawn, and then reseeded and put down straw. Two weeks later I have a very nicely done reseeded lawn. I reseeded twice before and never had the results Brandon achieved. He was professional, on time, and cared about what he was doing.

I had contracted to have 3 eroded areas of the lawn filled in with topsoil, seeded and then covered with Curlex. They also were to split some firewood I had stacked in the front yard, using my splitter. They called me and asked if I had any additional 4 x 4's to use as a base to stack the logs because they already had filled the one stack. While on the phone with me they stated that they had substituted leafgro for topsoil because the company where they purchased supplies was out of topsoil. I felt I should have been notified of this prior to purchasing the leafgro and using it to fill in the areas. The areas filled in are very soft and mushy due to the leafgro. The service provider did call the following day to check on my satisfaction with the job and offered to make corrections. They also said that if the leafgro washed away they would come back and correct the problem.
Description of Work: Contracted to fill in three eroded areas of lawn. Also, to split firewood (I provided the splitter & gas) and move the firewood to the rear of the house and stack.

Overall I was not impressed. He was a polite guy but I was not impressed with his services.
Description of Work: Grass was cut. I live in a townhouse and my yard needed some work done. It looked bad but he wanted to charge about $1200 to get rid of 2 trees by the front door and to pull weeds and put down some 8 landscaping lights that I bought from Costco. I had to buy all the materials so I am not sure if this is how this is done in the landscaping business or if they purchase the supplies. I forgot I also wanted some pavers put down underneath the deck. I thought it was a bit much when I called around and found out I could get it done for $800. He also acted like I was bothering him. He never returned any of my phone calls and when he finally came out to my house for the free estimate he was supposed to give me a call and let me know when he could do the landscaping but I never heard form him. I did not call him since I felt like I am not going to beg somone to take my money.

Member there must of been a misunderstanding. I was given the impression that you were going to call me when you wanted to move forward with the services. The grass cutting was a litte pricey yes. If your lawn was not 18 inches tall it would have been substantially less. As far as the pricing is concerned, there is no way to tell what is a good deal or not. Everyone has different business modules and for every business you will get a difference in price. The work I intended to do would of been guaranteed for atleast a year afterwards. There are many factors that come into play as far as pricing goes. I am sorry you felt this way about my company and also for the misunderstanding.

After moving from a rental house with a tiny yard I cut myself with an electric push mower to a house my wife and I bought on .83 acres, we decided paying someone to cut the lawn, at least for a summer, would be cheaper than buying a riding lawn mower. He showed up for the estimate pretty much right on time and walked the property with us, giving us a quote right there ($55 a cut, $110 a month) that was more than $20 cheaper than what a few other companies quoted us. Because of the weird polygonal shape of our lot, there was a triangle that he missed (its position makes it look like it is a part of the HOA next door). I happened to bump into him when he showed up to cut it the next week and pointed it out, he apologized and I offered an extra $5 a cut, which he accepted. I'll probably go with them again next year; I underestimated how nice it would be to have my lawn look good without spending hours a month doing it myself.

I have nothing but great things to say about Honey Cove Lawn and Landscape and the owner Brandon Turner. He was extremely honest about everything throughout the entire process, and boy oh boy did we have issues. His prices were spot on for our budget and there was absolutely no pressure or upsell, which was VERY refreshing. Unlike many of his competitors, he was willing to use materials that I supplied and despite all the problems (None of them caused by him), the project turned out awesome, well above my expectations. So the details: We lived in a Townhouse and were getting ready to move. The place was literally only 1 year old, but despite its youth had a host of issues. One of those issues was the fact that the backyard was always soft and had mildew and mold growing on it. Of course being a Townhouse, the yard was small, but it prevented us from using it and enjoying the outside. Our particular lot backed up to a downward slope into woods, the builder built a 12? retaining wall so our yard was level, and then dropped off (it was fenced) It?s hard to explain, but not too important. So we were moving and planning on renting the place. Having mildew in the backyard was a real hit with potential renters, so we decided to have a patio installed using paver stones. We considered doing it ourselves, but time was of the essence, so we decided to farm it out. I honestly cannot remember how I found Brandon, but I?m glad I did. So we set up a time for him to come out so we could discuss the project. First impressions are of course paramount, and Brandon was the consummate professional. As I stated before, there was never a hint of pressure for me to spend more money than I really needed to. He understood what we wanted, and agreed to wait for me to find some used paver stones on Craig?s List. In the end, he ended up supplying the stones for less than I was seeing on Craig?s List, but this was all my decision. Now to the issues: So the first day was excavation. When the crew dug in, they found that the builder had cut so many corners, that all of my neighbors? downspouts were draining into my yard, under my yard, with no proper drainage (gravel, sand, spout over the side of the retaining wall, etc?). So needless to say, we found why we were having the mildew issues. Now it would have been very easy for Brandon to pay no attention to this issue and build the patio on top of the mud, collect his money and move on, but he didn?t. Despite the fact that he would have to sit and wait at work stoppage until the builder fixed the issue (over two weeks), Brandon informed me of the issue. He explained to me the problem, to most likely mitigation, as well the risk of simply moving ahead. To make a long story shorter, the builder finally fixed the issue, and Brandon was able to finish the patio, all within my budget, and it looks great! We hired him again to do the landscaping around the patio which just made it look even better. Bottom-line, Honey Cove Lawn and Landscape offered us an honest price, and honest assessment, and an awesome finished product. I would have no issues recommending Brandon for any project you have, he will do a great job.
Description of Work: Soil excavation in a 12' x 12' area. Installation of proper drainage layers (Gravel, sand, etc). Installation of patio through the use of paver stones. Finished the patio with perimeter landscaping.

I have worked with Brandon for about 2 years now. He is very prompt and completes his work as explained. Most recently, he trimmed some trees for me. I had called him the morning that he did the work. It seemed like the hottest day of the summer but he came over and did a great job. He also mows the lawn, trims shrubs, removes leaves and cuttings. For all services he is thorough, and complete. He is very easy to contact, either by phone or email. His prices are reasonable and he is extremely reliable. I have had other services in the past which were not as dependable as Brandon. His prices are very fair and is willing to accept payment at the time of service or after service by mail. Would I hire him again? Without any hesitation.

The owner is Brandon Turner. He did a very good job. It is not a big business. It is a small business, but he did a very good job. He has an assistant with him. He charges $50 to cut the grass. He is prompt. He does a good job. He is always on time. He will come in and do it even if we are not here. He will collect the money later. He is an honest guy. He is a really nice young guy. He is very reliable. He is a hard worker. He does snow removal, landscaping, lawn and yard work, and mulch and top soil.
Description of Work: We used Honey Cove Lawn and Landscape for lawn and yard work. He is in Prince Frederick, Maryland. My husband had back surgery, and we had to have somebody do our grass for all of last summer. He raked leaves this past spring for us. He cleaned the yard for us. He also cut shrubs down. His last visit was in March. In the winter, he shoveled snow with his truck. He did a lot of the parking lot.
