Description of Work: Jeff Young, the owner of Potomac Security, is someone that you can trust for good advice, prompt and reliable service and top quality security equipment. On the rare occasion that something has gone wrong Jeff has rectified the matter almost immediately and except for a few pieces of very old legacy equipment it has been at no cost. His monitoring service is absolutely unbelievably great. We have had a fair share of "false alarms" but the one time it was the real thing they were right on top of it. They kept their cool and talked with my daughter (who was in the house when the intruder broke in) and had a colleague call me at the same time. | |I can give Potomac Security my highest recommendation with absolutely no reservation.

Description of Work: The owner of the company and his son installed our system when the house was built by previous owner. When we moved in, they came out to the house on a weekend, went over the details of the system, answered questions and helped us understand how to work it. Since then, we have had no problems - other than ones we created accidentally! - but they have been WONDERFUL to work with.

 + -1 moreThis went very well. Mr. Young provided the estimate, did all of the work himself, and finished quickly. He also remotely made some follow up changes to the system right after the visit. He also threw in two wireless key pads on-site. I felt he was trying to find what would work best for our needs and not what would cost the most. He also trained us on the system when he was done. It was really a pleasure working with him.
Description of Work: Mr. Young of Potomac Security Systems came by my house at a convenient time; discussed my specific needs; and gave me an estimate for a home security system that balanced cost and security. He then came back and installed the system and trained me on how it worked. He also set up the service with the monitoring company and registered with the local police.

 + -1 moreInstallation was very smooth. One person (Jeff, the owner) did all the work. He arrived on time, had all necessary components with him (we had discussed our needs in a phone call with his partner/wife beforehand), and she remotely programmed the system, and Jeff then verified all actions with the monitoring service. The cost was less than I expected. As an engineer with considerable experience in this technology, I was impressed with Jeff's explanations of how things worked and his selection of components. The final price was less than the original estimate. References were provided in advance.
Description of Work: They installed a multi-sensor home security and alarm system in one day, providing all tests and a very nice training session on the use and controls of the system. We particularly appreciated Jeff's timely response and his orientation to our particular situation, including the use of wireless sensors because they was a lower net cost to the customer and much less impact to the house.

 + -1 moreJeff Young, the owner/operator of this company is one of the best people I've ever dealt with in any service company. He is honest, dependable, knowledgeable, fair, hard working, and overall just a nice guy. He installed my security system six years ago and has monitored and maintained it since then. He is extremely responsive and his follow up is outstanding. His prices for installation were the lowest I found for the type of system I wanted, and his maintenance contract is very reasonably priced. Whenever I've had a problem, he responds quickly and always solves the problem. I have recommended him to many friends, and they are all delighted with his work. I rate him an A+++++.
Description of Work: Potomac Security provides an annual contract covering monitoring service for my security system and also maintenance coverage for my alarm devices.
