Description of Work: He mitigated / resolved a high Electro Magnetic Field problem we were having in the new home we just bought. My in-laws tested the home prior to us buying it but they missed an area of our master bedroom. Our 8 year old son had Leukemia and while it hasn't been provided, there are many who suspect one of the causes could be EMF's. there are also studies that suspect EMF's in Alzheimers. Our human bodies are electrical machines so it would make sense that if you have opposing electrical currents, it could cause the cells in your body to go haywire, especially if you body is hit with a 2nd outside force.. I had two electricians come out and both had zero clue as to what I was talking about; even though their dispatchers both insisted they understood EMF's. When I spoke to "have Power" I could tell right away that they knew what I was talking about. They said that Jason, the owner and Master Electrician, was one of the top rated Master Electricians in the area and that if anyone could figure it out, it would be him. I explained that I didn't want to throw more money at the problem with people that didn't understand EMF's and Jason said, "Look, if I have no idea what's going on in an hour, I won't charge you," Well, after an hour he started to figure it out and I told him to keep on going; i'd pay him for the first hour. Trust me when I tell you, it was a very complex issue but I could tell he knew what he was doing and that if given time, he would figure it out. He did a masterful job of the process of elimination and did what would have probably taken others days. He figured out the source in a bad neutral wire, eliminated it, and now we can sleep in piece and in safety.

Description of Work: Jason Zawatsky of HavePower is an excellent professional electrician who is extremely easy to work with and does high quality work. He goes the extra step to insure the customer is receiving exactly what they want. I contacted HavePower through an Angie's List Big Deal Offer. Jason Zawatsky from HavePower contacted me within hours. He scheduled an appointment time that was convenient for me and then I provided Jason with a list of what I needed for him to accomplish when he came to do the work. Communicating with Jason at HavePower was very easy and done mostly through emails. There was no confusion or uncertainty in the process. Jason sent a reminder the day preceding his visit and indicated he would arrive at 8:00 a.m. At 7:55 a.m. that morning Jason backed into my driveway. He was very professional, very knowledgeable, he made several very useful suggestions that were quite helpful to me. Jason was patient and accommodating in all aspects of doing the work to correct some wiring done by previous owners that had not been done properly. Jason's work was done very well and he kept the work area as clean as possible especially considering what had to be done involved cutting holes in walls and ceilings. He cleaned up very nicely when he was done and even vacuumed the floors before he left. I would certainly use HavePower again and highly recommend HavePower for any electrical work that anyone would need done in their home.

Description of Work: Jason made a number minor repairs that need correcting for the sale of my house: covering and replacing knock outs on vintage 1928 junctions boxes, fixed a breaker in the electrical panel. Other visits he has installed outlets and swapped out light fixtures. Always prompt and very tidy.

Description of Work: The master electrician from HavePower corrected several circuits in the second floor bedrooms that had been poorly installed by previous owners. He corrected the wiring and circuit connections to eliminate all electrical problems and hazards as well as improve the convenience of those circuits with new switches and controls. He also remounted two ceiling fans that had not been properly installed by previous owners.

+ -1 moreMy first contact with Jason Zawatsky was by phone, as we were hurriedly searching for an electrical contractor who would be able to accommodate an existing construction project schedule. Based on my explanation of the job, he quickly determined what was needed and pulled an electrical permit that very same evening. After coming out a few days later to look at the job in person, he quoted us a price that beat the competition, and was able to come out on Sunday as well. When the day came, he arrived prepared with the materials that were needed and quickly got to work. Some parts of the job, particularly running the new copper, were far easier with two pairs of hands than one, and I appreciated getting to help out a bit and play a part in the project. Jason was great to work with. He was very respectful of our home, meticulous with his work, and cleaned up nicely when he was done. And of course, the new electrical hookup worked flawlessly and passed inspection without a hitch. At the end of the day, we got more than our money's worth and I would certainly call Jason again for future work.
Description of Work: Wired up a new hot tub, including: a new 50 amp run from the garage, through the attic, down the wall and into the basement, through the concrete foundation to a GFCI subpanel, then through underground conduit and finally to the hot tub.

He was eager and energetic, and able to diagnose everything that needed repair. He has excellent customer service skills, explaining everything he is doing both before and afterward. His work is skilled and he wastes absolutely no time getting things done. As soon as he completed one task, he came to me to ask "what's next." Responding to my request, he provided a complete schedule of his regular rates. By comparison with other electricians I have used, and the demonstrated speed with which he works, his rates are extremely fair. Jason is very cordial and pleasant to deal with. Both for his skills as a master electrician and his pleasant demeanor, I would hire him again with absolutely no reservation. I have already recommended him to friends.
Description of Work: HavePowerElectric offered a day (8 hours) of electrical repairs for a reduced rate through Angie's List. Jason Zawatsky diagnosed and made repairs to electric service from my house to garage and studio, replaced a bathroom ceiling exhaust fan, repaired an overhead light in the basement, replaced a defective wall outlet, installed a dimmer switch on a living room wall light, diagnosed a non-functioning ceiling fan and checked all wall outlets in the house.

He was careful to ask questions about options that were available instead of just assuming and doing what he thought best. He explained what he was doing as he went. He was careful with clean up. He is also polite and respectful. We have already discussed a return visit to complete additional electrical projects around the house. :)
Description of Work: Jason replaced two ceiling fans. He installed one new ceiling fan. He installed an overhead light fixture in a room that didn't have one before. He added an electrical line so my garage door opener doesn't have to run off an extension cord.

In our house, we had a number of realtively small, but annoying electrical problems or needs that I hesitated to hire someone for to work on individually. Having an electrician for the day was a great approach. We would hire havePower to do more work in the future. The cost of services listed ($970) is from the invoice; the cost out of pocket was around $450.
Description of Work: Purchased a "deal of the day" for havePower to come for 8 hours to the house and work on 5 different, relatively small, but much needed electrical projects. He found a short in the basement outlet box; converted a one gang box to a three gang and another 1 gang to a 2 gang; ran a line for future exhaust fan in a bathroom; added a quad receptical under a computer desk; and added a plug to the kitchen island.
