Description of Work: I purchased their $399 deal for 40sq ft of either a tile back splash install or tile flooring install. I opted to have the deal put towards a bathroom floor tile install. Overall I was very happy with the work performed and the guys who came out convinced me to go with a marble threshold to transition to the carpet for an extra $30 he ran out and bought the piece to match the color of the tile and beveled the edges for a cleaner transition and I'm glad he had convinced me to go in that direction as it looks great! My only issue is that it was not clear in the deal that I had to supply my own grout and spacers for the job. In the future it would be good to make sure all that is included in the fine print. Also when coming to size the job it would be good if the estimator provided an approximate amount of grout needed for the job based on the size of the spacers being used and the sq footage of the job. I was told a bag which wasn't very specific and turned out to be way too much for the size of the job.

Description of Work: Hardwood floor refinishing using an Angie's List deal. The work and crew were great. Communications are the contracting were slow and I had to do a lot of prompting.

Description of Work: I used a Big Deal, and got a great price. They refinished a very worn wood floor in our dining room. The came as planned and worked efficiently, protecting adjacent rooms pretty well from the dust and cleaning up well after. The floor looks great!

Description of Work: I need reimbursement because Chevy Chase Remodeling could not do the work that I paid for -- sanding and refinishing of the kitchen floor. Steve came out and measured on 6/23 and then we tried to schedule the work. It was not able to be done until mid August. When the people he hired to refinish the floors arrived, they immediately determined that the current wood floor was too thin to be able to be sanded again.

Description of Work: A very punctual and professional gentleman came to evaluate the job and set a date for performance of the service (sanding and refinishing hardwood flooring). I asked for a delay so that I could prepare the room. He was very agreeable and told me to contact him when I am ready. I have not completed my work yet.

Description of Work: We had our family room floor sanded and refinished. We also had all of the oak quarter-round replaced. The guys arrived promptly and finished everything in one day. They were very conscientious about minimizing the sanding dust. The floor turned out great! What an improvement. I have other hardwood floors in the house and I may have them come back, at some point, to do those too.

Description of Work: They went out and provided input on our roof. Estimate to fix was a little pricey so we opted for someone else. However, they were very thorough and very responsive. I appreciated their input.

Description of Work: Angie’s List identified Chevy Chase Remodeling (Bethesda, MD) as a company that was highly recommended by their actual customer reviews. Our 40 year old townhouse kitchen in Montgomery Village was in need of a major upgrade. We needed new and more kitchen cabinets, counter tops, improved lighting, rewiring and new flooring. We wanted to get modern appliances. The needs extended in to the foyer and the half washroom. Suddenly it was looking very expensive in my mind. We met with Mr. Steve DePollar of Chevy Chase Remodeling and we put together our wish list, fully prepared to pare tasks down to our budget. We asked if everything could be done by Easter (less than 4 weeks away). When the estimate came in we were surprised a the low figure and the willingness to meet a tight timeline. We decided to go with the offer and we would order our own replacement appliances. It was painful to not have our kitchen, but we knew that would be a given inconvenience. The workers were very considerate in keeping down the noise per our requests. When cabinets were installed and our new floor went down, everything went together very well. When the granite counter tops went up with our back splash we were delighted. And Steve, had come by everyday through the install and shared his cell phone number in case we had questions or concerns. He was very professional, ethical and knowledgeable. We knew we had made a very good choice in trusting Steve’s twenty years of similar work and Chevy Chase Remodeling. The workmanship is impressive, there is an unexpected wow factor when people came in and saw the improvements. We got more work done for a lot less than any estimates we had obtained earlier. It was half the price of some earlier estimates for the same work.

Description of Work: Was gifted with a big deal for x-mas. Between rain and being booked it took a while for them to get to my place but on the second sunny day my roof was fixed - just in time to avoid being dripped on by a full days worth of rain. All is well that ends well and this ended well!

Description of Work: I was told that they would come out on Tuesday. They actually showed up on Wednesday. I was not home, so the guy texted me saying that He was at my house and it would cost me 550 dollars to repair my leaking roof. He then asked me if I wanted to do the work while he was there ( I did not see any pictures of the problem). Luckily, I declined his offer Ace roofing came out and fixed my leak perfectly for only 175 dollars.
