We used this roofer to inspect our rental property. They showed up as promised and fixed some potential issues even though repairs were not covered in the deal we had. purchased They emailed us pictures of the issues they fixed. They were very courteous and we were pleased with their service.

Lack of communication and lack of customer service.

Not well. He came out fairly quickly for the initial estimate. He asked me to send him SKUs for the tiles I was interested in. I did. It took one week for a response. They said they couldn't find one of the SKUs and requested that I verify the SKU and send back. I did that. Two weeks later and still no reply email.

It was great but my project was not adequate for the coupon and the timing wouldn't work out right. Steve was great, informative and helpful though. Will consider him for future projects.

I had a leaky roof that needed repair. When they arrived there were a number of issues they discovered that needed repair. This was outside of the roof repair needed and Chevy Chase Remodeling took care of that as well. They provided me with before and after pictures which helped me to see what the problems were and how they were resolved. One of the great things I appreciated the most was their promptness in getting back with me when I had questions. My questions were many. They were kind and professional in answering them and calming any fears and concerns I might have had. I highly recommend them and I'm sure that I will be using them in the future for other home needs. Thanks so much for your service.

Our kitchen was thirty-one years old with a wood counter top that had warped. The tile floor was still in good shape so we did not want to spend the money to replace it. Chevy Chase Remodeling did an amazing job of installing all wood cabinets and a granite counter top that totally matched our floor. The workmanship was top-notch, the company was responsive to our questions and schedules, and all work was performed within our budget. The result is a beautiful kitchen that I love to cook in! I would recommend this company to anyone!

My daughter needed work done on her roof, so I searched Angie's List and found Chevy Chase Remodeling, and we called them on 4/9/2014 and left a message. Someone called back a few hours later and scheduled an appointment for the next day between 10:00 and 11:00 AM. The next day at 10:30, the office manager called and said the men in the truck were lost and could not find the house and were wandering around a commercial area. My daughter said they had to be in the wrong quadrant of DC and gave her directions. By noon we called back and the manager was surprised they were not yet there. She was then unable to reach her staff at all. By that time we had to leave the house, but the manager said someone would come that day to check the roof and let us know the results. No one ever came and we never heard back from the company. We called another company, who came out promptly, provided an estimate, and did the work.

I purchased a deal based on the offer and areas covered. After I paid for the deal they emailed me and said that they don't in fact cover Frederick as advertised. Consequently I have to make an application to get my money back from Angie's list. Not a big deal but I'd rather they had accurately represented what they would do and save me the hassle. I appear to be compelled to give a rating so as all I received from this encounter was wasted time I guess B accurately represents my experience. These guys did communicate promptly and I have no experience of their proficiency.

I was trying to schedule appointments to do a small bath remodel. Chevy Chase Remodeling had a special, and I asked for an in-house estimate before buying the special... we had an initial appointment that I had to cancel. I did so the day before, and told them I'd get back to them when I was ready to do the remodel in earnest. A week later I attempted to reschedule, and it took them a few days to get back to me. We set up something for the next week, and I proceeded to wait until that Friday, so that I'd have all the estimates in hand. However -- and this was really stupid -- I got an email at 11:30 pm or so on Thursday night, cancelling the Friday morning appointment because Steven had a flu and decided he couldn't make the trip to my house as scheduled. Even with the extremely tardy notice, I thought to give them another chance, and he said he'd get back to me with a revised appointment the next week. Well, this time he didn't get back to me for the full week, and then sent an email that Friday for the NEXT week. At this point, I wasn't going to bother expecting him to follow though, and told him I was no longer interested "deal or no deal." His only response to my telling him about my issue with his ridiculously short cancellation was "Oh OK" ... I don't think he understood that customers/prospects judge him by his ability to be prompt and responsive. I'm really grateful that I didn't buy the Angie's List special deal! They're really good at refunding things if you end up with a bad vendor -- but, it's easier having not been made a fool of, by Chevy Chase Remodeling.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. He did get back to me and ask me some questions. I was not home when they did the service but my husband was. I was not unhappy with their service, but I was not overjoyed with the whole experience. Initially when I ordered the deal I got an email from them outlining what was included in the deal. It looked like what was included in the deal was that they were going to inspect my roof inside and out, including getting up into the rafters to make sure there were no leaks. I know he did not come in my house, but that's what the deal looked like -- that they were just going to inspect the roof and make any minor fixes, which would be what we needed done anyway. He did reach out and tried to make sure what sort of issues we had, but I don't know why he did that unless a lot of people had misunderstandings about the deal. We did not misunderstand the deal and he did perform the main task that we wanted, but I don't think he performed all of the services that the deal appeared to cover. It took them a few weeks to come out after I purchased the deal.

The call went very well, I was pleased with their customer service and professionalism, however from a quick discussion I felt that their pricing was above the range I was looking to pay. This is not a negative on them as a company, just my impression. I did not move forward with a consultation

Chevy Chase remodeling was responsive. Their communication was excellent. They did a good job with the repairs.

The roof looks great, the workers were friendly and professional. We had a few issues with the weather, but the company was responsive and communicated well. Overall a great experience.

The renovation was very extensive and with Steve's very competitive pricing and helpful advice I was able to save a lot of money. Steve is very knowledgeable and accessible. Overall the project went quite smoothly, but when problems did arise the workers were very good at diagnosing and fixing them. I'm very pleased with the final result -- a 45 year old neglected house was transformed into a beautiful, contemporary home. The house sold the very first day it was put on the market.

Thank you Chevy Chase. I have piece of mind. Yes I would use them again and recommend them.

Chevy Chase Remodeling did an amazing job bringing our 35 year old kitchen up to date for a very reasonable price. Steve DePollar, the General Contractor, has an excellent relationship with the stager we hired (also competitively priced), and our kitchen update adventure started with the two of them coming to our house to help us develop a design. Steve made excellent recommendations to open up the space and make it more appealing to potential buyers. We'd like to sell this spring, but now we have a kitchen that will be hard to leave! In the kitchen, Steve's crew replaced the floor with wood laminate, replaced the cabinets, installed a new granite counter, built spaces for a stackable washer/dryer unit and refrigerator in a closet where the side-by-side washer and dryer used to be, and installed four recessed lights and our new appliances (e.g. dishwasher, over-the-counter microwave, oven, refrigerator, washer and dryer). In the living room, they installed six recessed lights, crown molding, and a tile floor at the entrance. Two important details to note are the cabinets and the lighting. We had received quotes from three well-known cabinet stores before meeting Steve, and were resigned to purchasing the compressed board cabinets (most stock cabinets), because they were what we could afford. Steve, however, uses a supplier who offers high quality stock cabinets, much better than what we had seen anywhere in stores or online. Chevy Chase Remodeling gave us all wood Americraft cabinets with soft close drawers for less than we would have paid for much lower quality cabinets at big box stores. We couldn't believe the quality we received for the price. As for the lighting, Chevy Chase Remodeling installed the new dimmers made for CFL and LED lights. They work with incandescent lights, but the green approach of these new dimmers saves power and money, and the bulbs last for years. (The older cheap dimmers are meant for only incandescent bulbs and can ruin new CFL and LED bulbs.) As for customer service, Chevy Chase Remodeling is exceptional. Steve listened to our needs, as did his crew, and they patiently answered all of our questions throughout the process. The crew was polite and hard-working, and Steve stopped in regularly to monitor the progress. There were a few hiccups along the way, but our concerns were always addressed quickly. The job wasn't done until he was sure we were pleased with the end product. Lastly, we had a problem with a breaker tripping on the line to which the recessed lights were added. Steve immediately sent over his electrician to diagnose the problem, which ended up being a light pole outside. This had nothing to do with the new wiring, but he assumed the cost of this diagnosis anyway, as he wanted to ensure the quality of the service we received. We were very happy with Chevy Chase Contracting and will consider calling them again for our next big project!

The workmen came on time and they repaired everything and took pictures of everything for a great price. All parts were included in the 299.00 fee.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Chevy Chase Remodeling. First, this was an insurance claim situation and they we so helpful in dealing with my insurance company, providing me with detailed estimates, etc. They totally worked around my time schedule and turn around time and response to emails was super fast. As for the work, I'm thrilled. The workers did a wonderful job and kept the site as clean as possible. One day I even decided to come home during my lunch hour (unannounced) to see what they were doing and if anything was going on that shouldn't have been (they didn't give me any cause for concern, I just have trust issues). They were working hard and everything was clean and on time. I was thrilled with the final product except for one tiny issue, which they quickly corrected and was not a major issue at all. There's zero question in my mind that I'll be using them again later this year when I finish remodeling the part of my basement the insurance company won't pay for :)

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were fine. They were responsive. They told me that I needed to get some extra work done. They gave me some options and then I picked and they got it done. They even had to come out twice because the first day there was snow on the roof. They didn't fuss about it and they came out a second time and got the work done. I probably wouldn't use them again because the roof shingles didn't match and it was a different color. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Chevy Chase Remodeling did a great job putting up my dry wall and then painted the wall located in my laundry room. They were extremely professional and finished the job quickly. A week later I had them come and replace my roof. They were put to the test right away as it rained hard for a week the day after they finished. No leaks! I couldn't be happier with their service and will be having them back to replace my siding and remodel my kitchen.

Refreshing to deal with from start to finish. We had called a few companies to get quotes. Some stated the entire roof needed to be replaced for estimates reaching $8K and were adamant that repairing the hole was not a wise choice. Chevy Chase came out, stated the rest of the roof was in good condition and should last 5 more years. Its only 15 years old and a tree branch had fell and puntured the roof in one small spot. The shingles still have life and the roof does not look worn. Another company agreed with the condition of the roof but wanted $1,500 to do the same repair work. Needless to say I'm extremely happy with the work and it was done at a reasonable price. Upon completion they took pictures of the roof to show the repairs were performed as promised. The next time I need anything done, they will be the first company I call.

Chevy was extremely responsive and was able to make it out the next day (Saturday) for repairs. There was alot of painting to do but they made quick work of that as well as the patching the roof. Very impressed with there competitive price and responsiveness. I will get estimates from them again when other work needs to be done.

It went wonderful. I sent a message Sunday evening, the owner called Monday morning, while he was on vacation (which is very impressive). I told him the work I needed done, but I did not need it right away. Sent him, the address, and pictures of the areas of work, he responded with a quote. Also, came out to view the work to confirm, what needed to be done. Then, told me if I wanted to take care of it this week, he had availability. The job was supposed to take 2 days, he finished it in 1 day. I received quotes from other contractors, but Chevy Chase Remodeling was the best fit for more than one reason, 1) time of response, 2) he gave us repair options, 3) prompt response to emails and calls, 4) kept his word (I found in this process, some contractors have a providing an estimate when say they will), 5) flexibility in schedule - i.e. no pressure!. The work was completed today! It was supposed to take 2 days, but he had it taken care of in 1. Great job, with pictures reflecting the completion of the work. We will definitely use this company again and will share their information with friends and family! We already have a new job for them!

The crew was timely, efficient and very professional. They cleaned as they went and I swear left the area cleaner than before they came.
